Wild and wonderful weather today
How long did I stand there
Eyes closed, riotous hair
Wind blasting full in my face

Soul wide open to receive
A bit of its ferocity
Passion and energy
Relentlessness and strength

Welcoming the winds of change
To blow through my life
Disturbing, rearranging
Removing what needs to go

Open my eyes
Astonished again
By how glorious it is
To be alive in this world

I walk on against that gale
Brimful of courage
Gratitude
Awe

About the Author

Joy Lenentine first learned about the power of language to comfort and inspire at a very young age, through her Grade 5 English teacher. She went on to get a degree in English Literature. More recently, she has discovered the value of using language to process the past and present, to share observations and experiences, and to bring people on widely diverging paths together in mutual understanding. Nature has always been her most significant source of wisdom, healing, and peace.

She lives in Hartland, NB, Canada with her two teenage sons.
