Overview

Between the Lines by Jayne Ann Krentz

There was no passion to break her heart, no love to risk and lose. Marrying her boss, prominent businessman Cormick Grayson, was a very reasonable proposition for a woman who’d been hurt in love before. It was a mutually beneficial arrangement.

At first. But something wasn’t right. The heat in Gray’s eyes told her there was more to this than a polite, passionless marriage. But Gray’s cool, impersonal distance left Amber wondering about the man she’d married.

Amber never imagined she’d be the one demanding more, yearning to feel things she vowed she would never risk again.

Although not one of jayne Ann Krentz' best, it is an enjoyable read. The characters are funny & the conflict intriguing. I've actually been drawn back to it a couple of time & have enjoyed the revisit.

This book was originally written for Harlequin in 1986. I own it. It is not my favorite by any means. A typical book of that era. Definitely not up to her standards of what she writes now. Definitely not worth buying as a new hardcover. Used paperbacks are available for very low prices. I wish when something is published a line would be noted when it is a reprint. I will not be buying this book since I already have the 1986 version. Whether anything has been added I don't know but feel it won't improve the original. I am an avid fan of Krentz in all her aka's. Thoroughly enjoy her Harmony and other scifi as well as her Arcane, and historical. Have most if not all of her books so know of which I speak.

I love all of Jayne's work, whether it be in her real name or her other many names; it's still the same person. I have a whole shelf in my room just for her works. I still have a lot of collecting to do. She's one of the best!
