[I voluntarily reviewed a Reader Copy of this book] Allison and Eric live across the street from each other. Alison runs the daycare she inherited from her late Mother, along with the guardianship of her two rebellious little brothers. Eric has moved back "home" to a house he inherited from his uncle. Kids? Heck, she runs a Daycare. He'll have to get used to that. Allison is "all work and no play" between her problematic brothers and keeping ahead on her business. Eric is attracted not only to her looks but her brains as the attraction deepens... When I first saw this book I remembered the old food service prof telling me "We eat with our eyes". The cover art is very cute. The story is fascinating to read in part because I was about the same age as her youngest brother in 1964, the time it is set, when color TV was a new phenomenon and "organic" most times meant tasteless. I like the timing of the story, and Eric's "mental notes to himself" are a nice touch. I will definately be on the lookout for more Nancy Fraser! I recommend this small bite of a book. It will definately make you smile.

The cover for Bewitched by Nancy Fraser immediately caught my eye. I am a sucker for a pretty cover, so how can I resist such a fun, colorful one. Bewitched is a quick and entertaining romance. A new man moves into the neighborhood and love is in the air. He peeks out the window at her. She peeks out the window at him. Have you ever snuck a glance at some cutie, only to see he/she is sneaking a glance at you? This light, yet sexual tension filled romance is predictable, but the bumps along the road leading to the happy ever after are filled with fingerpaints and upchucking, childhood hijinks, courting and falling in love. I loved the characters from the beginning. She's sweet, he's hot and the peripheral characters play their part in fleshing out this fun filled novella that I would highly recommend. I received a copy of Bewitched from Nancy Fraser.

"Bewitched" is a stand-alone novella, only 59 pages, by Nancy Fraser set in October 1964. The third person narrative follows our two protagonists, Allison and Eric, with a side of Allison's troublesome brothers. Beautifully written, this is a sweet feel-good fast-paced quick read which is both timeless, funny and full of good family values. Things happen fast but realistically so. For me, the retro-feel was mainly conveyed by the car models and by Allison herself. I look forward to reading more by Nancy Fraser. [ARC received via Goddess Fish Promotions]
