Being a fan of the BEYOND series I was intrigued by Zan. We had met him a few times throughout the series to date but didn't know much about him - and he only really came into the story fully when he was injured in ADDICTION. In Beyond Possession, we are introduced to Tatiana - who is the eldest daughter of the previous 'leader' of Sector 4. She works away quietly in her shop, trying to stay in the background and avoid any unwanted attention. She has worked hard to earn her place in the sector following her fathers tyrannical rule while trying to keep her younger sister out of trouble. Zan has had his eye on Tatiana for some time - in a protective manner to start with but, over time, this has changed and the attraction between them has developed and grown. Both of them want more but Tatiana has had enough control taken from her in her life that now that she has it she's scared that she'll lose it again if she gets involved with Zan. He handled her very gently and did what he had to to prove that she could be with him and still be the strong woman she had proved she could be. This is a novella so there's not as much as a lead into the story but damn, this little book packed a punch. Full of action, there's trouble brewing within S4 and while the guys are off dealing with that, we see some of the O'Kane woman at their best - standing up for and protecting their own.. Possession was a bit gentler than the BEYOND books usually are - it was still hot, sexy - and it had it's share of 'oh hell no' moments. There was one scene in particular that I loved - while as a group the O'Ks are totally into being comfortable in their own skins and aren't afraid to show it, the gang are also all about loyalty, belonging and family and this particular get together summed up perfectly, in my opinion, what the O'Kane's are all about. Another great read from the Kit Rocha gals - the novellas, while shorter, are fab as they keep us going in between the releases of the main books and I must admit that I'm beginning to enjoy them as much as the novels.

So this is the first book I have read in the series and by Kit Rocha. I want to say first that the heat between Tatiana and Zan was explosive. I feel like yes, it would have been better to have read the other books in addition to this one, but this book alone was awesome! The experience was not ruined by not having read the other books, it only made me want to find the other books so that I can devour them like I did this one. Tatiana and Zan both have lost a great deal in their life and are struggling to gain either control or love back into their life. I was confused at times due to mention of Gia because I had no clue who she was, but at the end of the day you really only needed to know what she did and how it affected Tatiana. I could not put this book down, I loved every second. This book had the whole package; the action keeps you locked in and the passion and domination between the couple leave you wanting more. Definitely a great read! I recieved this book as an ARC from Netgalley in exchange for my honest review. Tatiana Stone is the daughter of the previous ruler of the sector until he is killed by the Dallas O'Kane. After the takeover Tatiana tries to keep her head down and not choose sides between her fathers previous followers and the O'Kane's. She spends her days denying the attraction between her and Zan, one of Dallas O'Kane main enforcers. Unfortunately for her, her sister did not get the memo and falls in love with the leader of her fathers followers, making everyone watch Tatiana to see whose side she would choose. Zan feels like he has failed Dallas O'Kane on his last mission. So when Dallas O'Kane asks him to get everything under control in the sector by any means necessary, he knows that he means get Tatiana on their side. What should have been an easy task turns into crazy nights of passion, domination and good and bad moments that will never be forgotten. This book makes you remember that sometimes the best endings come from the worst beginnings!

I loved this novella so much. I'm not going to talk about the basic plot - you can read that above. But the feels - oh, the feels. I'm new the the Beyond series. I've only read books one and two. But I am so glad that I skipped ahead to this one.  The thing I love about this series is its honesty. The characters what want they want. They do not lie and cheat to get it. They don't hide ashamed. They have ulterior motives, but they are trying to be honorable in this world where honor can actually endanger survival.  This heroine is smart. She's smart and she's tough and she can survive just fine on her own. But she doesn't have to.  The hero is strong too. But he's not threatened by the heroine's strength. In fact, he wants her to be strong.  A favorite quote from the book: "That makes you a good man. And I'm not afraid to need a man who doesn't want me to be less than I can be." I really, really recommend this book. After finishing it, I bought books three and four. I can't wait to get back to Sector Four.

Reviewed by Annie and posted at Under The Covers Book Blog After surviving some deadly bullet wounds, Zan is finally back on his feet to try and salvage his relationship with his boss, Dallas O’Kane. He has failed him once and doesn’t plan to again. So when he is tasked with protecting and seducing Tatiana Stone, the daughter of Matthew Stone, Sector Four’s previous leader before Dallas took over. As you can already tell, this novella is packed with politics and does a great job of making great strides in the overall plot arc. That being said, I definitely think it’s important to read this series in order. This novella doesn’t really standalone very well. Zan and Tatiana have an explosive romance that oozes plenty of sexual tension. I found Tatiana to be a strong heroine who knew she could be a pawn in Dallas O’Kane’s plans, but chose not to be. Zan also impressed me with his ability to remain true to who he was as an O’Kane but also fall in love believably with Tatiana. For such a short novella, a lot of the focus is on progressing the storyline and the romance. Sometimes, I thought the balance between the two shifted where the politics became too heavy in cases where I wanted the romance to really shine. But overall, Zan and Tatiana’s romance is well done even if it’s not my favorite of the shorter stories that Kit Rocha has released. BEYOND POSSESSION is a tremendous leap towards Kit Rocha’s endgame, infusing politics and sizzling romance in an enticing mix. *ARC provided by author

I am loving this Beyond Series. Sexy and action packed this Novella did not disappoint. There is word of an uprising in sector four so Dallas sends Zan to recruit Tatiana, her father previously controlled this area, to help smooth things over with the new leaders. Tatiana’s main concern is her sister and earning a living. But now she must choose sides. Great read. The characters are strong and sexy and the story is action packed. This series just keeps getting better and better.

I did NOT receive an ARC. I bought my copy just like I bought every last one of Kit Rocha's books. This is not a book report labeled as honest but a truly honest review. As with all of Rocha's books, this latest one moves fast and you can feel the grittiness. However,........ I quit reading Feehan books because of the incessant use of the word dark. Rocha is pushing my limits of the words dirty and filthy. The setting of this series is rough. Life balanced on a fine edge. Doing everything because there may not be any life left to do anything. In comparison to Eden and a couple of the other sectors, life in Sector 4 is hedonistic. Filthy dirty. I get it. I truly do. If I must be reminded several times (starting to feel nonstop), is there a chance of varying adjectives? Please? Moving on. This new entry of the Beyond Series started out with the exceptional writing and pacing that I've come to expect from Kit. The reaching out and grabbing, ripping me into the world of Sector 4, with me never wanting to leave. I swear I'm right there, even smelling the scent of roses from the soap. Nobody writes better than Kit Rocha. Nobody. The last 1/4 of this book felt rushed. Like the ladies suddenly realized "Oh crap, novella. The end." So while, this book was good, it wasn't outstanding. Enough to leave me drooling for the next Beyond book? Absolutely. I still feel a bit sad for this one, though. It got shorted.

I received an ARC of this book from the Publisher, via Netgalley, in exchange for an honest review.  This is listed as book 5.5 in this series. You can read previous reviews here and here. This is a novella in what is a rather gripping post-apocalyptic dystopian world. While the author states she tries to make the novellas more accessible to new readers, at this point I don't think it is possible. The world building and characterization of the other main characters in the series are simply too far along. So new readers, don't start here, and don't read this review if you don't want spoilers for the previous books. I really enjoyed Zan and Tatiana's story. Zan is recovering from when he almost died attempting to protect Trix. Tatiana on the other hand is struggling to maintain her balance in Sector 4 as her father was the ruler that O'Kane over threw in order to come to power. O'Kane isn't universally loved so this puts her, and her sister, in a hard place. When rebellion starts brewing, and her sister trapped on the wrong side, few choices falls down to none. Since this is a short story, there isn't much to the courtship process, so Zan and Tatiana's connection relies on back-story not seen on the page, which I infinitely prefer to the insta-connection. They are sweet and sexy, and Zan for all his dominant ways was remarkably sensitive to Tatiana's needs. And Tatiana for her part recognizes this and learns to bend and to trust, but I appreciate the level of independence she maintained compared to some of the other heroine's in this series. This book is grittier than the previous one and gives us some new insight into the politics within Sector 4. Overall 4 stars, but I couldn't rate it any higher because Tatiania seemed a bit shoehorned into joining the O'Kane's. I absolutely cannot wait for the next book, because that one should be another full-length one.

Review: I love this series and all its delicious dystopian adultness! In this novella we get an intimate look at Zan and Tatiana and what brings them together.  Even though this is novella length there is plenty packed into this story and really has so many great things going for it.  We find out that Tatiana is one tough girl and fits right in with the other O'Kane women.  I liked that even though she was somewhat sheltered as a child, being her father was in charge of Sector Four, she still used her smarts and cunning once her father was ousted and killed to take care of herself and her sister.  She is a business woman and makes a life for herself and is not dependent on a man to take care of her or rule her.  I like that Zan tries to give her what she needs, an independent self, even when his Alpha Male instincts tell me to protect her.  Of course the story has lots of action and sexy goodness too. Loved their story, was great to see more on these two characters and find out a little about their past.  Kit Rocha's world is an exciting, sexy place to visit and cannot wait for the next book. 4Stars

Beyond Possession, Kit Rocha Review from Jeannie Zelos book reviews.   I love this series, it just gets better and better. I think if you’ve not read some of the early ones you’ll find it hard to follow and not get the best from it but I’ve been lucky enough to have many of them for review and have bought the rest.   As the series continues the story and characters grow, and from simply surviving and building up sector four the O’Kanes now are expanding. There are still rebels though who don’t like the new rule, and Dallas doesn’t want to come down too hard on them, and be seen as no better than his predecessor who ruled by violence and fear. The O’Kanes want people who chose to be with them, not those who are simply too frightened to do otherwise. Nevertheless the rebellion needs nipping in the bud and he thinks the best way is to get Tatiana, one of the previous ruler’s daughters, onside.    She’s a hard working, talented lady and just wants to get on with her life, but still she’s seen by many as the spoiled princess of her father, and by others as a key to rebellion, they want her with them and don’t care how it happens. Her little sister has been seduced by the ringleader, and Tatiana is struggling between her conscience and her loyalty to her sister. She’s been both parents to her since their father’s death and feels helpless to protect her from the man she knows is just using her. Dallas charges Zan to get Tatiana onside with them, he’s been wanting to get closer to her anyway, and there’s a strong mutual attraction. As ever though there are barriers, Tatiana can’t quite believe things with the O’Kanes are as good as they look, there must be something hidden. She values her independence and needs to know the O’Kanes aren’t like others, who just want her as a pretty toy. Of course there’s the problem too of her sister who is so innocent, having been protected first by their father then by Tatiana, and can’t see anything wrong with Wallace, the man she’s with, leading the call for rebellion. Tatiana is torn, but they do get past some of the barriers and have a searingly erotic few hours of passion, before everything comes to a head in a violent explosion. I love this series, although its a genre I don’t usually read. Its carnal and erotic, but with a solid and realistic story backing it and I need that to enjoy the novel. A weak story is a let down for me no matter how hot the sex scenes.   Stars: once again its a five, a book I’d re read and really enjoyed. ARC supplied by Netgalley and publishers
