"Big Blue Ball" is an experimental side-project produced by Peter Gabriel & Karl Wallinger. Peter Gabriel arranged for the musicians to visit him @ Real World Studios to play on this album. Joseph Arthur (a former labelmate) provides haunting vocals as well as acoustic guitar on "altus silva" and "Exit Through You". Sinead O' Connor is featured on the fragile ballad, "Everything Comes From You". Vernon Reid, formerly of In Living Colour adds guitar loops and synth on "Forest" and "Rivers". Crowded House was a popular 80's alternative pop ensemble. Tim Finn as well as Andy White contributed to the song, "Whole Thing". There is a free-form, loose rhythm feel to this record. Obviously, Peter Gabriel enjoyed producing this album along with such international artists such as Papa Wemba and Jah Wobble. It's an interesting album no doubt. "Big Blue Ball" is layered with poly sound, substance, and precise melody. I recommend this album to anyone who appreciates and reveres Peter Gabriel. Thanks.

You will not be disappointed by this musical disc of wonderment. Featuring a bevy of musical guests and a significant number of songs, it never fails to delight and intrigue. However, I have to give it four stars because I think the title is inappropriate for children. That said BUY THIS DISC NOW!

I love Peter Gabriel's music and this is some of his best! The other artists are equally great. They are from all over the world and all different types of music. Something Peter would do and do well.

This is nice stuff that Peter Gabriel does all the time. However, I will not give this cd a very high review because Sinead O'Connor is on it and I do not like being forced to listen to controversial singers whose political views are weird. Otherwise this is great cd!!!
