Tomie dePaola (www.tomie.com) is the acclaimed author and/or illustrator of more than 250 books for children. Adorable tale of an unlikely friendship between and crocodile and a bird who is his toothbrush. A great story of friendship between childhood friends.

A crocodile named William Everest (Bill for short) and his best friend Pete (a bird who is also Bill's toothbrush) live near the River Nile and narrowly escape Bill's impending doom after a bad guy (a.k.a. leather dealer) captures him to make a suitcase.
