Bill Evans: Jazz Piano Solos Series Volume 19 based on 0 ratings. 1 reviews.
I've noodled around with a number of instruments over the last 35 years (yikes!) and only recently started with the piano, which I've been enjoying tremendously. Different instruments inspire different interests in the music I listen to and want to play and for me, the piano always pointed me toward jazz. The learning curve of the piano itself is so intimidatingly high that I thought there would never be a way to master it well enough to play anything close to something sounding like the players I admire most, like McCoy Tyner, Oscar Peterson, Herbie Hancock and Bill Evans. Then I discovered this book! It's just far enough beyond my ability level to give me something really challenging to work on while still sounding so Evansesque, even at a glacially slow tempo, that it keeps me interested and inspired to keep plugging away. I've been wishing for music arrangements like this for a long time and this book is everything I was wishing for.
