Bim-Bashi Baruk of Egypt is essentially a collection of short stories that follow the adventures its eponymous protagonist, a WWII-era soldier of mixed Arab & English descent, as he finds himself drawn into various scenarios of espionage, intrigue, and/or murder. I found the stories themselves to be rather entertaining: basically Lawrence of Arabia meets Agatha Christie, with perhaps a bit of Indiana Jones thrown in. My main criticisms are not with the stories themselves, but rather with the eBook version I read. The number of typos was at times distracting, if not confusing. There was also a blatant mistake with italicization that occurs midway and continues up to the end. While it technically has a linked Table of Contents, it only links to the first page. Finally, it should be pointed out that although this eBook is VERY affordable and can be shared via LendMe, there are free versions of the same source work available from other sites.
