About the Author

Sierra Cartwright was born in Manchester, England and raised in Colorado. Moving to the United States was nothing like her young imagination had concocted. She expected to see cowboys everywhere, and a covered wagon or two would have been really nice!

Now she writes novels as untamed as the Rockies, while spending a fair amount of time in Texas…where, it turns out, the Texas Rangers law officers don't ride horses to roundup the bad guys, or have six-shooters strapped to their sexy thighs as she expected. And she's yet to see a poster that says Wanted: Dead or Alive. (Can you tell she has a vivid imagination?)

Sierra wrote her first book at age nine, a fanfic episode of Star Trek when she was fifteen, and she completed her first romance novel at nineteen. She actually kissed William Shatner (Captain Kirk) on the cheek once, and she says that's her biggest claim to fame. Her adventure through the turmoil of trust has taught her that love is the greatest gift. Like her image of the Old West, her writing is untamed, and nothing is off-limits.

She invites you to take a walk on the wild side…but only if you dare.

“Let me help you with that.”

At the sexy, intimate sound of a man’s voice, Lara stopped shrugging into her coat and turned to glance over her shoulder. Her pulse slammed to a stop. Connor Donovan.

When he’d entered the hotel’s ballroom an hour earlier, she’d immediately noticed him. Even at an event attended by Houston’s power elite, the man had commanded attention.

Her friend Erin had introduced her to Connor, her older brother, and president of Donovan Worldwide.

He’d been polite, though courteously distant, as if his attention was focused elsewhere. She’d found that his icy demeanor was the perfect complement to his cool, intimidating gray eyes.

In spite of herself, she’d continued to watch him.

After only fifteen minutes, he and a couple of other men had made their excuses and left the ballroom. Since all were moguls, their absence had been noted.

Connor had been the first to return, and she’d seen the delicious way that he’d adjusted one of his starched, white cuffs.

And now, he was standing only inches behind her.

“May I?” he prompted.

His voice was friendly, but his implacable tone sent a shudder through her. She realized it wasn’t really a request. “I’d appreciate that,” she said.

When his fingers brushed hers, she felt his touch as if it were a sliver of lightning.

Their proximity felt intimate, making her aware of how devastatingly handsome he was. She made a conscious decision not to let him know how much he flustered her. She’d grown up around authoritative men, but he possessed a unique aura of command.

He continued to hold the jacket until she’d settled into it.

“Thank you,” she said as she turned to face him. Though she was tall and wore cripplingly high stilettos, she had to tip her head back to meet his gaze.

He looked at her without blinking, and for a moment, she was the focus of his attention.

“It’s my pleasure to help a beautiful woman.”

She told herself not to take him seriously. The man hadn’t been named president of Donovan Worldwide at such an early age without learning to consider the impact of his words. Still, his genteel Southern manners impressed her. No one could have faulted him for walking past the coat check area. But he hadn’t.

He turned his hand palm up, indicating she should precede him through the revolving glass door.

Outside, a cold rain fell in wind-whipped torrents. Thank goodness the portico was covered but, of course, there were no vehicles waiting in the taxi lane.

A sedan pulled up, and Connor said, “I’ll give you a ride.”

“That won’t be necessary.”

Just then a valet hurried over. “Taxi, ma’am?”

She nodded as she brushed her hair back from her face.

The valet went to the curb and blew a whistle to summon the cab.

“Are you certain?” Connor asked.

The idea of being in the back of a vehicle with him even for a few minutes gave her shivers in a way that had nothing to do with the outside temperature. “I promise you, Mr. Donovan, I’ll be okay.”

The cab arrived.

Connor waved off the valet. Despite the weather, he opened the door to the taxi and handed her into the vehicle.

“I’ll see you again soon,” he said. The words were laced with promise.

His gaze lingered. His eyes no longer seemed as cold, yet they appeared ten times more dangerous.

With a decisive move, he closed the door then walked away, each stride purposeful.

In the scant few minutes they’d spent together, she’d felt the vortex of his authority. She knew she could have refused his help, but there had been something mesmerizing—something seductive—about the way he’d instinctively taken control of the situation.

She gave the driver her destination and tried to shake off Connor’s effect.

* * * *

“You should ask my brother to marry you.”

Shocked by the statement, Lara jerked her hand, causing wine to slosh over the rim of her glass. “What?” Even the thought of suggesting such a thing made her heart stop before rushing on in a fury. Absently, she reached for her napkin to blot at the red stain that was seeping across the white tablecloth.

“You should marry Connor. You remember him from the cocktail party, right?”

As if she’d ever forget.

“You two would make a fabulous couple.” Erin Donovan reached for her glass of chardonnay and sat back, wearing a huge smile. “So there you are. It’s the perfect solution.”

“Perfect? I don’t see how marriage changes anything.”

“First of all, you’d have access to Connor’s advice.”

“I’ve already hired advisors.”

“Who aren’t running companies as successful as Donovan Worldwide.”

“I can’t argue that,” Lara agreed.

“If he thinks it’s worthwhile, he may help with the financial issues.”

Which her father would never consider.

“Surely you could get him a seat on the board if he were your husband?” Erin persisted. “You’d have someone to back your position. And most of all, you’d have a lover to share the emotional burden with. Stop scowling. You’ll give yourself frown lines.”

Lara stared at Erin. They’d known each other since graduate school, and they’d continued to meet once a week to discuss business, as well as other issues in their lives. Years had made them more than friends, it had also made them confidantes.

Until this moment, Lara had considered Erin to be extremely intelligent and a gifted problem solver. But her suggestion that Lara marry someone she didn’t love, especially the aloof and dynamic Connor? Even though her father’s stubbornness meant BHI’s situation was dire, marriage wasn’t the way to solve the problems plaguing her family’s business. “You’ve lost your mind.”

After taking a sip of wine, Erin put the glass down and leaned forward. “You should think about it.”

“Not in a million years.” Even though her interaction with Connor had only been a few minutes long, its impact had stayed with her. The next day, she’d caught herself thinking about him, wondering what might have happened if she had let him drive her back to her bungalow.

Probably nothing, she’d told herself. Just because he’d offered a ride didn’t mean he was sexually attracted to her.

Unfortunately, she’d been so turned on by him that it had taken several ridiculous days and lots of determination to free herself from the hold he had on her.

Now, more than three weeks later, the tendrils of the memory still unnerved her. “Rumor has it he’s not in the market for a wife.” Not only that, but according to reports, he rarely dated.

“Which means you looked him up!” Erin pronounced.

“I didn’t say that,” Lara protested.

“How else would you know?” Erin grinned cheekily. “I think you’d be ideal for him. You saw him. He’s too damn serious about everything, always has been. Since Dad died, it’s gotten worse. Not that I can blame him. But he’s recently become even more of a hard-ass than he used to be, like he doesn’t deserve to be happy. He needs a vacation. Or someone to shake up his careful little world. Aunt Kathryn agrees.” She tipped her head to the side, as if considering Lara’s suitability.

“Don’t look at me,” Lara said. “I’m not that woman. My life is complicated enough.” When she went out, it was generally for happy hour with a group of friends. She could kick back, have fun, have an occasional hook-up, but keep her time free. “Besides, I like a different kind of man.”

“That’s absolutely true,” Erin agreed. “You like men who are milquetoasts.”

“I prefer the word uncomplicated.”

“Uh-huh,” Erin said. “Remember Randy? He was milquetoast.”

“He was a nice guy.”

“It took him four dates to kiss you.”

“Three,” Lara corrected.

“Which is three too many.”

Lara fought back a small smile. Erin would tease her relentlessly if Lara admitted the truth. She’d had to initiate the intimacy. And when it had happened, the kiss hadn’t curled her toes or made her swoon. In fact, she’d been strangely unaroused. When they’d slept together, it had been perfunctory, leaving her unsatisfied. When she’d hinted that she’d wanted more, he’d scowled, obviously half offended, half puzzled.

She’d told herself that great sex—hell, even good sex—was overrated. Randy had been a good man, always understanding, never protesting when she’d worked late or canceled dates to deal with one of her father’s dramatic pronouncements. In the end though, lack of sexual chemistry had made them drift apart.

One night at dinner, when they hadn’t seen each other in more than a week, she’d suggested an amicable parting. He’d smiled, in relief, she imagined.

And since she was swamped with work, she’d opted not to pursue dating for a while. Her vivid imagination and her vibrator collection were enough. She might not have a man as a partner in her life, but she told herself that was okay, for now.

“Consider it,” Erin encouraged.

Instead of responding, Lara reached for her wine.

“You should at least schedule a meeting with him,” Erin persisted.

“Do you ever stop?”

“I could give you his cell phone number.”

The image of him made her shiver. All that power and intensity? “No. Absolutely not. Thanks.”

“In that case, I’ll give you the secret code to get past his personal assistant in case you decide to call the office. You can find the number online.”

“A secret code?”

“Don’t laugh,” Erin said. “A lot of enterprising reporters and salespeople will use all sorts of tactics to get past the gatekeeper.”

“She must be tough.”

“He,” Erin corrected.

“Your brother’s personal assistant is a man?” The information shouldn’t have shocked Lara, but it did.

“Oh, yes.”

With her index finger, Erin skimmed the rim of her glass. “He’s…interesting.”

“In what way?”

“Uh-uh. You’re not getting any information out of me. Go see for yourself.”

“Stop it!” Lara protested. “Tell me.”

“Not a chance.” Erin made a show of fanning her face with her hand. “Okay. I’ll tell you this much…Thompson is a gem. Gorgeous. Ex-military. I don’t know, he’s…forbidding.”

“Forbidding? That’s an interesting word.”

“Like he has all these secrets. He doesn’t talk about himself much. The man scares the hell out of me in the most exciting way possible.”

“Now I’m intrigued.”

“That was my point, exactly.”

Forbidding. If you added handsome, enigmatic and powerful, the same description could apply to Connor.

*Complimentary ARC provided by the publisher for the purpose of an honest review. BIND was probably the best book I’ve read by Sierra Cartwright to date! The beginning was reminiscent of Fifty Shades, but where Fifty seemed reliant on “shock and awe”, BIND was more pleasing in all aspects. The smattering of humor throughout did a great job of diffusing the intensity of the developing relationship.  Lana Bertrand, CFO of Bertrand Holdings Inc., had learned all about the family business from her father. She was a daddy’s girl through and through, until she completed graduate school and began to challenge his outdated business decisions and practices. The fact that she had contemplated giving up two years of her life to save the company spoke a lot about her dedication, determination, loyalty. She was a workaholic with no time for relationships, and she’d been repeatedly disappointed by past lovers and the way they handled her kinkier desires. She was confident, bold, and generally unafraid to express herself sexually. Dealing with developing romantic feelings did not come easy to her at all.  Connor Donovan (27) had been appointed president of his family’s company, Donovan Worldwide, at the age of 23, after his father had died tragically in a car accident. His parent’s marriage wasn’t perfect, but what he knew was enough to turn him off of pursuing any serious relationships. I loved his relationship with his siblings both in and out of the business. When he was first introduced, from Lara’s perspective, he seemed aloof, a bit cold, and he definitely commanded the space in which he moved. Since the story was told from alternating POVs, it turned out he was anything but cold and reserved. I just loved the way he talked—everything he said was measured, considered, charming and intelligent. For someone his age and in his position, he was very down to earth.  Probably the most intriguing aspect of this story was Lara’s proposal and Connor’s conditions and whether or not a reader would see him as taking unfair advantage of her predicament. Her position coupled with his promises of giving her a taste of what she'd only fantasized about was definitely a catalyst for the fast pace of their sexual relationship. Also, the way he treated her as an equal outside of the bedroom and his unwavering support in business showed her that being able to rely on him was a core element of his personality and not just a selfish means to get laid. Personally, I enjoyed the set-up and the execution. It was anything but trite because the characters were so compelling. The BDSM parts were kept to introduction to the lifestyle and spanking, but the seduction and the sex were incredibly hot.  The side characters enhanced and complimented the couple, and I adored Lara’s mother and her “ESP” abilities, as Lara liked to call it. And for fans of the BONDS series, Julien was his usual awesome self and returned for a bit of meddling.

Bind grabbed me from the first page and left me wanting more.  I had a hard time putting the book down.  Lara is a women on a mission and Connor is a man who knows what he wants.  Throw in a marriage proposal of convenience and the heat begins to rise.  I really enjoyed the story and the chemistry between the characters was very believable.  The scenes were hit and very well written.   There was even a surprise visit from another one of Sierra's great characters from a previous series.  I highly recommend this new series from Sierra.

Reviewed by Angela Book provided by the publisher for review Review originally posted at Romancing the Book Wow. Just wow. I wasn’t sure what I was getting into when I got this book. It started off a little slow for my tastes but once I got about 50 pages in the book started to take off. The attraction between the two lead characters, Connor and Lara is unbelievable. They both want the same thing but getting there is half of the problem. Lara knows she has real feelings for Connor but isn’t sure that he feels for her the same way she feels about him, and she is afraid that he is agreeing to this marriage for one reason and one reason alone, money… Throughout their “relationship” Connor brings out a side of Lara that she didn’t know she had. A submissive side. The need to be told what to do and be taken care of on multiple levels. But this is a side of herself that she is not sure she wants to embrace. It’s not normal and she shouldn’t want it but there is a part of her that just can’t get enough of Connor and his dominance. Sierra Cartwright transports you right into their world. The world of business and pleasure and matters of the heart. The plot is unusual but intriguing none the less. I was kept on my toes and could not wait to find out what happens next. It seemed like the end of each pages would leave me so desperate to know more. It was a cliffhanger at the end of every page and I couldn’t get through it fast enough. This is the first book that I have read by Sierra Cartwright and she did what I believe every author hopes to do. She has me hooked with her amazingly detailed writing style. She has left me wanting more and I can’t wait to find another of her books soon. I give this a 5 rose rating. Favorite Quote: “Unless you want to be naked when the pizza delivery person arrives I suggest you get on with it.”

Ohhhh, Connor and Lara. What tangled webs they wind... Wow! This book was super hot and amazing. Lara is trying to help save her father's company the only way she can, by going behind his back. Connor Donovan is the brother of Lara's best friend, Erin. A plan is put into place, but she gets more than she bargains for. Will her sacrifice help the company, will it be too much, will she find something she wasn't looking for, will she lose it all .... read this amazing first book of The Donovan Dynasty! Love these two and looking forward to more Donovans

Masterful Sensuality from the Master of Sensuality - Sierra Cartwright ! I bought this book at Books-a-Million and was reading it before I made it home. Ms. Cartwright's books are like a drug to me. I have lost myself in them time and again. In this her first book of her newest series we meet Lara Bertrand the CFO of her families company Bertrand Holdings Inc. Lara is aware the company needs help and has come up with a proposal to save it if only she can convince Connor Donovan of Donovan Worldwide to help her by accepting her proposal of a marriage of convienence. Connor has wanted Bertrand Holdings for some time, he needs some of the patents they own and has made an offer to Lara's Father. But was turned down. Lara knows he wants the company and rather than see it crumble and be picked up piece by piece by the competitors she goes to Connor to make a deal. A wife in name to host his parties and give the illusion of stability and take him out of the lime light from gold digging women after him. Connor wastes no time accepting Lara's offer but has demands of his own. He wants Lara's submission, and a full committed relationship with all that entails. He quickly gets her to agree to an extended time frame of two years over her want of only committing one year. And shows her the chemistry they have will indeed make for an sensual and intense bond between them. He binds her to him heart and soul. Ms Cartwright's books are always a delight to the reader. Her to worlds she creates are rich with detail, full character development and strong story lines. The reader is invested 100% from the very first page. I have read several of Ms. Cartwright's books and have never been disappointed with my investment. They are some of my favorite gifts to friends and family. 5 stars for this Sensual trip through a world full of Masterful storytelling!

Wrapped up and bound in his love Lara Bertrand is the CFO for her family’s company and lest you think it’s a position granted by nepotism perish the thought. Lara has earned her way up in the business world. She’s finance savvy and knows what she’s doing. She also knows exactly what she doesn’t want… CEO is NOT on her to do list. So, when she watches her father repeatedly throwing good sense out the window, she’s left with some drastic measures to reign in his mad dash to financial ruin… Measures that include a marriage of convenience proposal to the only person she figures can help her pull things out of the spiraling decline they are on. Color her shocked, though, when her proposal is met with a counter. Her marriage of convenience isn’t going to be all too convenient because Mr. Connor Donovan wants a submissive, a wife in his bed and fidelity… not for her initial proposal of a year, but for a full three years. To sweeten the pot he’s offered her a taste of what being with him entails. Connor has had his eye on BHI for a while and the lovely Ms. Bertrand most recently. He wants their patents and their communication division but when he goes in above board, Petrell Bertrand turns him down flat without even looking at the offer. Now, he could sit around and pick up the pieces of the company as it crumbles or he could take Lara up on her proposal. He’d much rather have his collar and his ring on this enticing woman than take an unsure bet on what would be left of the company. But appearances are everything in the business world so there is no way he’s going to accept an in name only proposal. She’ll be living with him and gracing his bed. Her on her knees at his beck and call are the icing on the cake. But when he decides to give her a taste of just what a relationship with him would be like, he finds he has found his perfect match. Too bad the two of them can’t see past their proposed end date on something that could be a lifelong journey together. These two are hot together and definitely a winning number. The BDSM scenes Ms. Cartwright has detailed will keep you on edge. It may be a rocky road to HEA but you will get there in the end. Gotta wonder what Connor’s brothers Nathan and Cade have in store for us in the other two books in the series. This one is well worth the read. *****Reviewed for Xtreme-Delusions*****

I loved this book. Hot, Steamy and playful. Connor and Lara make one hell of a power couple inside the boardroom but can they survive as a couple outside the boardroom. Connors sister is Lara’s best friend from college and thinks Lara is perfect for her brother Connor. Lara is trying to save her father’s company from destruction and sets a plan in motion one Connor can’t resist. Connor is the head of The Donovan Dynasty all work and no play. When Lara shows up at Connors office with a deal he couldn’t turn down they both have no idea that both there worlds are fixing to be turned upside down. Will there love survive or will it destroy everything they have worked so hard for. This is a must read 1st book. The alpha male is HOT and the sex even hotter. Sierra has another hit on her hands. Sierra knows how to write those keep me on the edge of my seat hot steamy sexy plots. Awesome Job.
