When I hit menopause, I was uncertain about what to do next. As my hormones disappeared, I began to experience many health problems. My uterus was dropping down. My face looked old. I was dripping urine when I sneezed. The fatigue, hot flashes, and depression were really getting me down. I knew that the hormones that you get from most doctors are a bad thing. After reading this book, I became confident that bioidentical hormones were safe, so I decided to give the program recommended in this book a try. That was three months ago. So far, I am feeling better than I have in years. I would recommend this book to any woman or man who is experiencing a health decline as a result of getting older. It tells you how to replace hormones safely, how to find a doctor who will prescribe the program, how much it costs, and other steps you can take to get your hormones working right again.

I have spent 40 years practicing medicine, and it always fills me with gratitude when I run across a book like "Bio-identical Hormones Made Easy." This is because most of what is written on healthcare is either overwhelmingly pedantic and impractical or is oversimplified to the point of being relatively useless. This book is one of the fine exceptions to those trends, and is clear and even enjoyable reading, not only for the inquisitive public at large, but for medical professionals too. We also need quick and reliable references to turn to in a busy practice. If greater detail is needed it is always easy enough to research it in the literature once we have the basic scope of the problem and its treatment in our sights. And what a problem we find when contemplating whether or how to use hormone supplementation in todays society! I trust the information in this book entirely, based upon experience and upon the way different parts flow with each other. There is just the right balance between the general and the specific, and between the didactic and the personal. The book does not insist that only one way is possible, but it documents the likely outcomes of different courses of action. The grief that could be averted were this information to become more widely known is immense. It is always harder to write something concisely than to ramble on, and we should all be thankful to the author for making that effort on our behalf.

Bioidentical Hormones Made Easy really did make it easy for me to sort out my hormone quandary!!! There is fascinating stuff in here about the politics of hormones and women's own attitudes that sheds light on why bioidenticals are so hard for women to get and why a rhythmic dosing scrip is even harder to get.The best chapters for me were the ones that talked about how to prevent cancer, how to find the right doctor to get my hormones balanced, testosterone for men and women, how to lower stress and get rid of toxins, and what you need to eat to make your own hormones. I am very grateful for this book coming into my life at a time when I really needed it!!!

Great book to learn about bioidentical hormones--the history, the effectiveness, the safety, the choices, what precautions to take.
