A Birthday Blessing begins "To mark the Anniversary of your birth I send you this blessing..." and continues blessing the friendship between giver and receiver, celebrating the continuing life journey of the recipient. Welleran Poltarnees believes in the old adage "Count your blessings." His books help people to affirm the blessings of life, to share a loving thought with their friends and family. Poltarnees envisions his books as being like pebbles dropped in a still pond, their rings emanating ever outward, those blessed, in turn, blessing others, who bless yet again.

About the Author
WELLERAN POLTARNEES has a lifelong love of gardens. His first memory is falling out of his baby carriage and landing on a bed of odorous white flowers which not only kept him from injury, but made the experience a sensual delight. He collects books about, and pictures of, gardens but there are few timeless things that he does not so honor. He uses a book called Great Gardens of the World as a guide whenever he travels, and, with the exception of the Boboli Gardens in Florence, which came highly recommended and which he found monotonous the gardens have always refreshed him. His favorite time for gardens is night. His favorite garden music is Manuel De Falla's "Nights in the Gardens of Spain", and his favorite garden poem is "The Garden" by Andrew Marvell.
Most Helpful Customer Reviews
This is a simple book of wonderful illustrations and inspirational wishes for someone you really care about. Every page has a beautiful full size picture by a variety of artists. And each page has one or two lines of wishes that all of us would want for ourselves and others --- every day, not just on a birthday. I would consider this a woman-to-woman book that stresses enjoying the simple things in life. It is not a religious book. You will keep a copy for yourself!
