How far would you go to keep it from being taken away?
John Kendrick is down on his luck, struggling to make ends meet. He's lost his job, and his mother. Taking a week vacation to clear his head, he meets Sherri, and it is love at first sight. The next day, stopping for lunch in Phoenix, he meets Dominique Lucas, and his life is turned around. Offered a job making more than he thought possible, doing work he absolutely loves, he is living a life others only dream about. The good life has finally chosen him.
As the Director of Investigative Services for Shelby's, he begins to learn about the people in the company. When one person's personnel records don't seem quite right, he digs deeper. Uncovering a trail of unexplained deaths surrounding Colton Bragg, he brings it to Dominique's attention. The situation is resolved quickly, and John is rewarded handsomely.
A few weeks later, Colton Bragg is killed in a drug deal gone wrong. Something doesn't set right with John, and he can't shake the feeling there is more to the story. When the FBI shows up, asking questions, his world begins to unravel, and he realizes he has to make a choice.
It's a lesson we all face at one time or another. What's easy isn't always right, and sometimes, what's right can be dangerous.
