This is one of the sweetest, funniest, most irreverent books I've seen. It's basically photos of dioramas with chicks doing absurd things, and it's delightful.

This is SUCH a funny and well-done book! My girlfriends and I spied it in a boutique and spent a good 30 minutes laughing ourselves silly. Very smart, very witty, and charming pictures.

My friends and I enjoy going to Barnes and Noble and just checking stuff out on occasion. We couldnt put this book down and read the whole thing before we left the store. We had such a great time reading it I bought her a copy for christmas. Highly recommended.

This is the best little book that I have ever read. I was reading it in the car on the way home from the book store, and I laughed so hard I cried. I shared it with my friends and they also loved it. They went out and got their own copy. GET THIS BOOK!!!

Hands down this is the most innovative, creative and funny book I have ever read or looked through. After reading the entire book in the cafe I went and bought it. I think everyone has to have a book of this comic caliber on his or her coffee table.

The first thing you will notice about this book is that the photographs and dioramas are very well done. The second thing that will be noticed, which is much more notable, is the very striking way in which the combination of text and photo serve to alert us to our own ignorance and shallow actions -- not the ones that strike us in everyday life, but (rather) the ones that are such a part of everyday life that they do not strike us at all. This book is a strong commentary. And it is far from fluffy.

I am so glad this book came out in time for the holidays, it has solved almost all of my gift-giving issues. If you have a good sense of humor, by all means buy this book and give it as gifts!!! Thank you Ms.Tanen.

This is a 'chick' book that is chic...it delivers a punch on every page. Wit combines with art to create picture you won't forget. If you want lively conversation around your coffee table...place a copy of this book on that table. This is the perfect Holiday gift for adults of any age...and makes an unusual hostess gift.

I saw Tanen's humor in Slate and figured that surely Slate had taken the five funniest diaramas and the rest would be a disappointment. But that's not the case. Bitter with Baggage makes me think this is what Gary Larson would do, if he worked in three dimensions and with chenille Easter chickens. The diaramas are consistently hilarious, wonderfully absurd and occasionally even touching.

Fluffy chickens do fluffy stuff. Yes girls, let's enjoy our shallowness. I feel like I lost about 10 IQ points per page. The author obviously has way too much time on her hands. Why do they publish stuff like this? Maybe cute to look at, but it's definitely not funny
