Jenna and Mimi are at college in California and trying to get things ready for school to start. Jen has avoided Rex and Corey. When Mimi suggest they go out, Jen doesn't want to go. She thinks that Mimi knows Rex, Corey and Ryder will be somewhere close. While Mimi is off dancing, Ryder shows up and starts talking to Jen. It is hard for her to look at him because he is after all Rex's twin and they look exactly alike except for the eyes. When she realizes that it's Rex and not Ryder, she feels betrayed and is ready to leave. She finally decides to give Rex another chance but she is waiting for it all to come crashing down. She has learned to not trust Corey. Mean while Mimi is falling for Corey and they fight like cats and dogs. While I was rooting for Jen and Rex, I wanted to shake Mimi and ask her what she sees in Corey. It seems that Corey wants to change and Ryder wants to cause trouble for Jen and Rex. And then Marie shows up, so what happens now? Can Jen trust what Rex says that Marie is there for Ryder and not him? Will Mimi and Corey ever get their act together? The ending will get you, it is not a cliff hanger but will have you wondering WTH happened? I can't wait to see what happens next.

3.75 STARS! This is the ending to Rex and Jenna's story. This story picks up where the last one left off. Jenna, her BFF, Rex, Ryder, and Corey are all headed to the same college. Jenna is NOT happy about this. She wants to avoid the boys if she can. Little does she realize they are literally around every corner of the college? Can Jenna truly forgive and learn to trust Rex? Is she ready to give him a second chance? Will Rex be able to prove that he is trust worthy? How will Jenna deal with the boys being around her when they caused her some much pain in high school? You can feel Jenna's pain through the story and you really want to help move on from the past. I loved Rex. He is sweet and it comes through in his relationship with Jenna. Jenna and Rex have great chemistry. You will find yourself hoping that Rex does not screw up and can really become the man that Jenna wants and needs. Can't wait for the next book.

This second book in A Bittersweet Series gets 4.5 stars from me.  It does pick up where book one left off and J.L. Beck does do a good job giving a little background to keep things moving and fresh in your mind, However, I highly recommend snagging Bittersweet Revenge first if you have not read it already. Jenna and her best friend head out on a new adventure leaving all their cares and troubles behind. Or so they thought. A group of boys show up at the same school that made Jenna’s senior year almost unbearable. If that wasn’t bad enough, you will never guess who is living in the same apartments now. With a best friend who is willing partake in a little revenge, a new apartment, University, and confidence help Jenna move onward and upward? This story is a quick read with great characters and heart. This book falls into the Young Adult category and I am more than happy to recommend the read. It’s an enjoyable quick read, and I’m sure you will love this series too.

This review contains spoilers!!! Ok I love love love this author! her first book was awesome and the second was even better. Now I have a bunch of questions about Ryder and Corey and Mimi that need to be answered. The book is a total cliff hanger and I can't wait to read the next one. I want to know why Ryder kissed Jenna and what the heck his problem was. Was it because he has feelings for her or does he have other issues. I also want to know what on earth Corey did to end up in jail. So many questions that will hopefully be answered in the books to come. I would definitely recommend this book to others as a must read. Great job J.L. Beck keep up the good work!

High school was a disaster for Jenna Haines.  She was betrayed by her ex-boyfriend, who spread vicious rumors about her and broke up with her in front of the entire school. When his cousin approaches her wanting to be her friend she finds herself drawn to him and accepting him at face value.  Everything warned her not to be so trusting, but she listened to her heart and he betrayed her.  The only friend she had left was her best friend Mimi and they decided to attend college in California at Southern Cali. That would take her far away from all the drama she had endured during high school. Time and distance will hopefully heal the broken pieces of her heart and allow her to move on with her life. Rex Winchester had known from the first moment that he saw Jenna that she was the one for him.  He had never intended to hurt her and when she moved away he was heartbroken.  The only choice for him was to follow her to California and attend school where she had decided to.  He knows it will not be easy to convince her that he is really sorry and will do anything to regain her trust and love.  Rex also knows that his twin brother and cousin will probably get in his way trying to get back on Jenna’s good side. Can Rex prove to Jenna that they belong together?  Will she forgive him and give him another chance?  Or will friends and relatives keep them apart?  Read this book and get some surprising answers! Hero –:Rex Winchester 4 stars Heroine –Jenna Haines: 4 stars Steam: 3.5 stars  Plot: 3.5 stars  Cliffhanger: No Would I recommend this book: Yes! If you enjoy reading about the struggles that young lovers endure, this is the book for you.  Reading the first book in this series really helps understand what is happening between the characters in this book. Would I read other books by this author: Yes! This author offers a fun perspective while at the same time showing the realistic side of life.   ***Received an ARC of this book from the Author in exchange for an honest review***

This is the second book in the Bittersweet Series and they just keep getting better and better. The things this girl goes through and gets stronger emotionally for it. I am so glad she is developing a backbone and stands up to her bully. I was also glad she gave Rex a second chance, he makes her happy. I can't wait to read the next one Bittersweet Hate. I'm not usually into teenage drama books but these have me hooked, I need to know what happens to them.

J.L Beck gave me Bittersweet Love for an honest review. I love this series, the charactere have a place in my heart now. No one can remove them. Rex, you are literally pulling for him and Jenna from the first sentence. He has a love for Jenna like no other and you can clearly see it. Jenna is wonderfully written she like so many girls out there. She has been hurt, let down and destroyed by so many. This book like Bittersweet Revenge it leaves you breathless and wanting more. I cant wait to see where all the characters go from here. Nail biting impatience!

As noted, this is the second book in J.L. Beck’s Bittersweet series.  This books picks up where book one (Bittersweet Revenge) left off so it is a good idea to read Bittersweet Revenge first.  The author does do a little backstory in certain parts but it is not a complete retelling of the first book to get everyone up to speed. It is more of a refresher from Bittersweet Revenge for those that have read it.  These parts are written so that it flows with the story very well. We pick up with Jenna and Mimi as roommates in college and know from the end of book one that Rex and Corey are going to the same college but Jenna is doing her best to stay clear of them.  She is determined to make a new start where no one knows her or her made up reputation from high school. In an effort to get Jenna socializing, Mimi makes her go to a party at a club.  Jenna doesn’t want to go but being a good friend to Mimi she goes as her wing woman. When they get to the club, Mimi immediately goes off and splits from Jenna.  As Jenna is having a drink by herself, a familiar face slides into the booth next to her.  Rex? No, Ryder!  Jenna decides the best way to handle this unexpected guest is more alcohol.  Especially when she finds out that in addition to Rex and Corey going to the same school, Ryder is as well. Jenna continues not to fully trust Ryder and the reader wonders even more in this book about his motives.  Bittersweet Love continues to follow the conflicts between Jenna and Rex and Ryder; As well as the one between Corey and Mimi.   As the story goes on, the reader aches for Jenna and Rex to give their relationship another chance.  When they do, there are others that try to destroy it again. Corey also matures a bit and now that we (and Jenna) know the motives behind the vicious attacks in High School, we can understand (although still not agree) on his reasoning for acting that way.  In this book, we start to see a new side of Corey, possibly the start of what Jenna saw when they first started dating.  We also gain more insight into Corey and Mimi’s growing conflict. This is a great book!  We already knew the characters from the first book so we get to dive deeper into their conflict and feelings and try to figure out motives.  Ryder is not s huge character in this book but leaves a huge mystery surrounding him.  I love how the author wrote his character.  He plays a smaller role but leaves us needing to know more!   I found myself angry, anxious, happy, relived, curious and a ton of other emotions.  This is a short book but PACKED with story! I can’t wait for the third book in this series – I need to know what this cliffhanger is about!  This ending had the same type of ending as the first book.  I thought everything was getting wrapped up until I got to the last sentence and my first thought was – when does the next book come out?!?
