The Black Angel by Barbara Samuel

Fans of Jo Beverley, Eloisa James, and Mary Balogh will love Barbara Samuel's smart, sensual historical stories. The Black Angel is a full-length Georgian romance novel from a six-time RITA award winner.

A Taste Of Heaven

Ardor once foolishly led Lady Adriana St. Ives into the arms of a rake, an affair that cost her everything she held dear. Though that was five years ago, this golden English beauty still vows that no man will ever again ignite the sensual passion hidden deep in her soul--not even her new husband, Tynan Spenser, Earl of Glencove, a darkly handsome and rich Irish rogue.

Known as "The Black Angel" for his wild and lascivious ways, Tynan is as determined to melt his icy bride as she is to resist his seductive charms. Vowing that she will be his in just one hundred kisses, Tynan sets out to win her with a kiss each day--a challenge Riana is sure she can withstand. But the willful beauty has no idea of the power of a single kiss...

The romantic tension in this novel is both sweet and scintillating. I love the way the hero and heroine warm to each other. Their bond is timeless, believable, compelling and left me wishing the story would never end. Definitely a treasure to savor many times!

Barbara Samuel is so gifted. She gives you believable, imperfect, yet likeable characters. I loved watching Adriana and Tynan grow and face their personal demons, as well as grow to love each other. The idea of the 100 kisses added to the excitement. I highly recommend this book!

While some of the themes may seem trivial in today's world, the challenges they face were dire in the historical context of the book. Wonderfully done.

Well written love story.  It's hard to find books with strong female characters that are likable.  I thoroughly enjoyed this book and look forward to reading the rest in the series.

The characters are all very lovable. One couldnt help but adore rinias family. The hereo is just as lovable. Rinia was a little hard to love at times. I wanted to shake her but though at first she appeared weak she evently finds her streangth. Though the love scences were more mild than im use to, it was still a good read, but not a great one.

I enjoyed this story much more than I thought I would after reading all the reviews.  It truly was excellent.

This story's complexity made it a very good read.  I especially enjoyed the references to various culturally diverse elements of the period one seldom sees in this genre.  I did find a few unfinished storylines involving the brothers, which might be leading us to other novels, but overall, the reader has a continued hope that all goes well for the characters in their future.

Love this book. The lead characters are very well written. The tangled love story of these two complicated characters in full of suspense. You'll be thinking the whole time "OH MY, will they ever fall in love?" Beautiful story and definitely worth the read.

Historical romance is usually not my thing but this was well written and touching.

I simply adorned the family of Lady Adriana and the mixed race element. I enjoyed her fire and spunk. There was a true chemistry between her and Tynan that grew with time. A very passionate book. That makes one think of the unfair differences between nationalities, races, and genders.
