This book is about a man of the lakota Souix natoin. The book follows Black Elk from childhood till he's older. He has great visons of his people and has the ability to help people. He does not know of his wonderful powers until he grows up. In his life he encounters the young worrior Crazy Horse as well as many other Native American icons. He 'speaks' from his heart about the way he feels about the white mans treatment toward his people. In the battle on the greasy grass (little bighorn battle)he tells what happened through the eyes of one who fought there and tells it how it was. This book tells about the battles, hardships, and the goodtimes of the Lakota nation. This is a good book to read if you like Native American literature.
