Overview

Black Friday (Maggie O'Dell Series #7) by Alex Kava

On the busiest shopping day of the year, a group of idealistic college students believe they're about to carry out an elaborate media stunt at the largest mall in America. They think the equipment in their backpacks will disrupt stores' computer systems, causing delays and chaos, disrupting capitalism, if only for a moment.

What they don't realize is that instead of jamming devices, their backpacks contain explosives. And they're about to become unwitting suicide bombers.

FBI profiler Maggie O'Dell must put her own political troubles aside to work with Nick Morrelli and figure out who's behind this terrorist plot—a massacre that's all the more frightening when a tip reveals that Maggie's brother is one of the doomed protestors.

Keeps you reading to the end. Stayed up late to many nights, hard to put down. Plus I live in the Minnesota, that made it even more thrilling.

I'm going to have to check on other stinkers I've read this year, but this is probably the worst one. 1. Muslims had nothing to do with the Oklahoma City bombing. It was white people. Alex Kava is not Nelson DeMille and shouldn't try it. 2. Every man becomes enamored with Maggie. Sorry, only Anita Blake can get away with that. 3. If you and your brother have one bio-parent, then you are not step-siblings; you're half-siblings. The book was confusing enough with each chapter doing a different POV and characters mentioned from previous books. 4. This is what I call, "Phoned into the editor" while on a European vacation. I hate to say it, but the book should have been longer to get the plot to work. It was so rushed that the continuity fell apart. 5. No ending. Seriously, there is no climax to speak of and more unanswered questions than you can think of. What were the consequences of anyone's actions in the book?

Haven't finished reading quite yet but so far it is Kava at his supreme. So far haven't found a book by Kava I haven't enjoyed . This is another page turner that's hard to put down. Maggie has a new boss that you hope has to eat his tie so to speak! Thank you Alex Kava, and PLEASE, keep it coming!
