About the Author

Diamond Burks is a 21 year old spoken word poet and author based in San Antonio, Texas. She has always used writing as a form of release and recently decided that instead of keeping her work to herself, it should be shared. Her personal experiences birthed deeply heartfelt, storytelling poems that have related to and touched many of her readers. She grew apart from her journal while focusing on her educational goals and relationships. After a traumatic event, Diamond regenerated her pain into her writing once again. She started reciting her poems at events while attending Texas State University and then ventured off to do more events with other spoken word artists after dropping out of college. She has written and self-published her first novel, a very vulnerable, tear-jerking project, but this is only the beginning for this gifted poet.
