Does he man up and come out of hiding—or let the dream die?
As the dreaded holidays approach, Rufus Miller breaks his golden rule: silence. Sentinel Pass's resident recluse may be a social outcast with rusty people skills, but with his late brother's legacy hanging in the balance, he'll try anything to sell his Dream Houses—the rustic, three-dimensional "dream catchers" he creates from branches and bark. To fully engage the Christmas market, he requires a marketing ninja. Rachel Grey drives a Porsche and dresses like a runway model who made a wrong turn at Denver, but her positivity could woo a hermit crab from its shell. Maybe she's the answer to a wish he's never allowed himself to make.
Is her new client a living, breathing Sasquatch—or Santa Claus in the making?
Rachel Grey's career re-boot in the Black Hills of South Dakota requires a big, splashy marketing campaign. Discovering this year's "must have" Christmas gift—a novel, one-of-a-kind sort of "wishing jar" to hold secrets, hopes and dreams written on rolled slips of paper—could be just the ticket. Convincing backwoods artisan and self-imposed outcast Rufus Miller to shed his disguise and rejoin humanity brings unexpected benefits—
Black Hills Outcast is Book 6 in the 12-book Black Hills Rendezvous series. If you're a fan of deeply emotional stories that make you smile through your tears, you'll fall in love with Debra Salonen's wounded hero fighting to keep his dream alive and the woman who rescues him while inadvertently opening the door to his past.
Lovers of holiday romances won't want to miss Black Hills Outcast—where a bit of Christmas magic reminds two lost souls that love is the reason for the season.

This was a witty and touching story. Rufus has a great sense of humor for a reclusive yeti-man. Rachel was wonderful in how she struggled with discovering her true self - out from under her controlling mother and cheating ex. All of the secondary characters added to the story and made me wish that Sentinel Pass was a real town I could visit - or move to.
Rachel has been the perfect daughter but in so doing has left her dreams behind. With a recent divorce, the loss of her accounting job and a dream she heads to Sentinel Pass to create her future. With Rufus Miller her first web design customer, if she can hook him, she is sure she will succeed in achieving her goals. Rufus has been burned in the past and is a bit unwilling to let Rachel take over. The two definitely have chemistry and are interested in one another but a big secret Rufus is keeping might undo the progress they have made into relationship potential unless the situation can be made right. I liked both character and rooted for them to get their happily ever after. I have not read any other books in this series and did not need to for this book to be a wonderful standalone story. I will be looking for other books in the series because this new-to-me author impressed me with her character development, storyline and writing abilities. I received a copy of this book from eBook Discovery in exchange for my honest review. 4.5 Stars
I received this book in exchange for an honest review and I can honestly say that i loved this book. I enjoyed it from start to finish. The two main characters were real people to me from the beginning. I had to keep reading to find out what happened between Rufus and Rachel. I will read this author again.
