What People are Saying About This

Fred Barnes

"Thomas Sowell is America's foremost public intellectual and for good reason. His work covers almost every subject imaginablerace, economics, Marxism, ethnic groups, immigration patterns, just to name a few. He is persuasive and provocative and always scintillating. I've read all his books and never been even faintly disappointed. Black Rednecks and White Liberals is no exception."
executive editor, The Weekly Standard, and Fox News commentator

Stephan and Abigail Thernstrom

"Tom Sowell is a national treasure, America's most perceptive, productive, and thoughtful commentator on racial and ethnic issues. Black Rednecks and White Liberals is vintage Sowella neat package of six lucid and incisive essays that shed new light on the big questions that he has devoted his intellectual life to confronting and answering. A wide-scoped exploration of racism, culture, and well-meaning ignorance in America, as applicable today as it wss in 2005, with some oddly-relevant allusions toward some of the claims made today.

Buy the book and read it. If a white conservative writes this book we probably have a racist issue but "the professor" is the man and ably makes his case. This is at least the third of Thomas Sowell's books that I have read cover-to-cover. Sowell's writing style is an excellent complement to other, very fine books attempting to explain and enlighten regarding the liberal mentality. It is written in more the text book style than like our usual conservative writers. In spite of his more formal style, the read is excellent and keeps your attention. As I said, buy or borrow the book and read it, cover-to-cover. Thx.

Grey social issues are elegantly explained using real empirical methods. Thanks Mr. Sowell!
