Wow! Matt Belsante is the best young artist you've never heard of. Listening to "Blame It On My Youth" sparked in me the same sense of joy and anticipation that I felt years ago when listening to my first Michael Buble CD -- I loved what I was hearing, and I couldn't wait to hear what was coming next. The album boasts an interesting mix of songs from several different eras, so listeners of all ages will hear some old favorites and discover some new ones. With help from some terrific arrangements and a great band, every song has been re-energized and given a fresh, sometimes sassy makeover by this talented singer. (I'm not ashamed to say that I got goosebumps when I heard Belsante's rendition of "All in Love is Fair," the classic written by Stevie Wonder.) As soon as I finish writing this review, I'm going to order ten more copies of this CD so that I can introduce my family and friends to this star in the making.
