This is a well written romantic suspense story. It has wonderful characters that come from dysfunctional families. That are captivating and likable. I fell in love with the Solo the K9 that Blaze went home to look for. He found Camilla while on his way and the chemistry and attraction between them keeps growing thru out the story. The plot has plenty of mystery, drama, action, suspense, and romance, with twist and turns to keep your interest to the very end. This is another winner in this series.

I am really loving this series. In this book we meet Blaze, who goes home to search for Solo. On his way he rescues Camilla, who really lights his fire. Lots of action in the book as Camilla's family tries to stop the relationship and steal her inheritance. Solo is found and the couple triumphs at last, after several bumps in the road. If you enjoy reading about former military, action and adventure, with a nice touch of romance (and don't forget the dogs!) This series is for you! Blaze had avoided going home until he’s given a mission. The ex-Navy SEAL is sent to find a retired military dog named Solo that was last spotted in his home town. As he’s driving to his home, Blaze spots Camilla whose car has a flat. He pulls over and helps her get back to town. As they get to know each other, trouble begins. At first incidents seem like minor vandalism, but then incidents start escalating. Someone doesn’t want Camilla going out with Blaze. Now besides looking for Solo, Blaze wants to protect Camilla from these threats. As Blaze slowly befriends Solo, the story focuses on Blaze and Camilla getting to know each other. In a lot of the ex-military books that I’ve read the story line is a little unrealistic, this books is just a refreshing look at two people getting to know each other and falling in love. This is book 4 in the K-9 Files series and it features Blaze and Camilla. This series is about veterans finding lost military working dogs and through that, finding love. This story was more about Blaze and Camilla than Solo, the MWD. The story line was good but it needed to be longer so a deeper search into the trouble surrounding Camilla could be made. The story line was great but unlike the stories before this one, this search was almost an afterthought. As usual, the characters were awesome! I can’t wait for the next book in this fantastic series!

Fabulous! I really enjoyed this one! It has a humorous side with Camilla’s bravery and spitting kitten attitude as well as a sad theme regarding the horrific injuries Blaze suffered resulting in missing his mother’s funeral. I love the small town atmosphere where people have know each other most of their lives, and for some, it feels like home after being there just a little while. It has a knowledge of the townsfolk that big cities can’t match. He grew up loving dogs, where it kind of runs in the family, with a natural affinity to what the animals are thinking and how they react to various treatment by people. I love how Blaze takes on the challenge of finding and befriending Solo and his determination to give her a decent life. Camilla is sweet despite her mother and sisters’ criticism and less than loving treatment of her. Disdain, jealously and dislike is all they have to give her, so with them out of her life, she has no problem becoming a successful woman in her own right with her Event Planning business keeping her very busy. Vandalism to the event center right before a big wedding has Camilla feeling uneasy and yet determined to make this occasion perfect for her client. She can be feisty when offended and Blaze sees this as a sexy attribute when she doesn’t hesitate to speak her mind. But when her own home is broken into, Blaze takes over matters to make sure Camilla is protected and the culprit is found. This hot, sexy, romance is another great book in this series and is a complete joy!

Camilla gets a flat trying to avoid hitting a shepherd, Blaze drives up, parks to see if he can find Solo who is missing. He walks up to see if he can help. Alas, not much as the tire and rim are dead She is frustrated, calling for help and cursing her bad luck. Is this a fate or a bad dream albeit awaking one? I can not, will not go further. I do not do spoilers. You will love this book. If you love dogs and heroes, what's not to love. This series can be read as a just one in the series or the whole series one after the other and you will not be disappointed. Have been enjoying this series so have looked foward to the release of this story. Very disappointed! The author should have taken more time in story development. The characters are not believable, 'too cutesy'. And the K-9 element is very minor, to the point I wonder why the authored bothered! I will probably purchase the next story as I want to see how author handles a very ugly subject. Buy this book but be warned it is very short in reading enjoyment.

This has to be my favorite book so far in this series of books. I absolutely loved the characters and the dog. I felt that the characters interactions were so lifelike and true to Dale Mayer's writing. She has always been such an amazing author, no matter which series you are reading. I loved the story line and how the story unfolded. The story kept me engrossed and I just could not stop reading the book. I loved the book from start to finish. It included some action, suspense, mystery, love and of course the story included a wonderful dog. As a dog lover I can't say enough about this series. Love, Love, Love It! Blaze went back to his home town on a mission or two. One, to find Solo, a shepherd from the military K-9 division and one to determine his next path after his discharge from the military. Almost as soon as he makes it to town, he offers to help Camilla after she had a flat tire and gets his first clue in searching for Solo. Blaze decided that he liked Camilla’s honesty and wanted to get to know her better. As they start spending time together, there are broken windows at a venue where Camilla has an event scheduled and later at her home. Then she receives strange emails and text messages. Can Blaze and Camilla determine who and why someone is trying to keep them apart and still find Solo to keep her out of harm’s way?

Another great instalment in the K9 files has Blaze going back to his hometown to find Solo, a missing military dog. He encounters Camilla on his way home and is amused by her antics and interaction. He ends up getting a date with the woman and finds himself protecting the woman when her safety is threatened. As the investigation on who did it they learn their pasts are connected in more than one way...could that be the answer. A great read with some steam and quite a few chuckles along the way with Camilla’s character. Once again I enjoyed the couple and the little to no drama between them. The story flowed nicely and the suspense had me flipping the pages....cant wait for the next instalment. *I voluntarily read an advanced copy and expressed my honest opinion*

I love this series about the K-9 dogs that are veterans. Blaze is a wounded vet, who has accepted his disabilities and is now going home to Kentucky to look for Solo one of the missing K-9 dog who is a loner and lost in the hills. On his way into town he meets Camilla a women who can make him smile and laugh. With patience and understanding he will be able to complete his mission and more. This is a a fast pace book with a good plot and a few twists. This is a great read for summer. I can't wait for the next book in the series. Another interesting and suspenseful story full of excitement and budding love, with twists and curve balls to stop you getting to comfortable or figure out the villain until near the end. Characters to fall in love with as they battle the bad guys, their flaws all while trying to help a dog beaten down and untrusting of any human contact. I wanted this story to go further, I would have loved a bit more of Solo and her settling into a new life, maybe more of Blaze's dad and his dogs because it all sounded so great. These ex K9's break my heart as do the ex military men looking for them, all they have been through to get to where they are now, the stories feel real and each and every one of them touches me that is the magic of what Dale creates.

Another fun but challenging book by Dale Mayer. Each book of the K9 Series just keep getting better. Blaze is a retired SEAL, retired due to injuries received from his tour of duty. He is returning home with a mission. He is to locate Solo, a missing retired military dog. Even before he gets home he encounters Camilla, an event planner whose past is linked to Blaze. Vandalism, mysterious figures dressed in black, false leads. I was kept is suspense, trying to figure out the who and the why. Well done! Beauty exposes a tragic face. Love finds three unconventional souls. Solo is the tragic figure that brings together a wounded warrior and his somewhat flighty, always genuine, dream girl. Love could be their destiny, but dark forces are on the horizon. Will the secrets of the past destroy any hope for a future? Mayer enchants readers and intrigues heart with her flair for the dramatic.

This entertaining read delivers an engaging combination of drama, romance, emotion and suspense. I loved Blaze, Camilla and Solo's story. These characters were immensly likable and Solo just broke my heart. A wonderful book.

I really loved this book.Blaze is an ex army seal, discharged on medical grounds due to severe injuries after an encounter with an IED. His father runs a successful animal sanctuary and Blaze is given the task of finding Solo, an ex military dog that has gone feral . Camilla is an events planner who Blaze comes across at the side of the road, she has a bent wheel after swerving to miss a dog who Blaze thinks may be Solo, the dog that he is trying to find. I loved the gentle romance that grew between these two, she was slightly dippy and made him laugh, which he hadn't done much of in a long time, however someone was trying very hard to keep them apart and Blaze was determined to find out who, I loved the empathy and the gentle way that Blaze earned the trust of Solo. This book is one of a series of books involving dogs, it is the first one that I have read but it wont be the last. This is a standalone story with a HEA I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
