Overview

Bleach, Volume 15: Beginning of the Death of Tomorrow by Tite Kubo

Cleaning up the afterlife – one spirit at a time!

R to L (Japanese Style). Cleaning up the afterlife – one spirit at a time!

Ever since he was little, Ichigo Kurosaki has been able to see the spirits of the dead, so when a teenage girl materializes through his bedroom wall, this should be no call for alarm. Rukia Kuchiki is a shinigami, a member of the mysterious Soul Society that is charged with capturing rogue ghosts, and is hot on the trail of an evil spirit. But in the ensuing confrontation, Ichigo absorbs Rukia's powers, giving him the ability to not only see the undead, but to fight them as well. Now this 15-year-old high school student begins a brand new vocation: hyperkinetic, all-purpose ghost-busting. With enough attitude to make a grown ghost blush, Ichigo and crew are taking on the after-life one ghoulie at time.

Vol #15 starts off with Uryu's epic battle against Captain Kurosuchi and and Ichigo's training with Zangetsu (trying to get Bankai). This volume also goes into Renji's, Hinamori's ("Momo's"), and Izuru's soul reaper school days which was really cool to see the history between the three. Toshiro makes a guest appearance in the flashback story. It's cute to see him as a tyke, and you get to see his sibling relationship with Momo. They aren't really related but she treats him as a little brother. The artwork is superb as usual, and I love how the story flows. Kubo has me hooked and I bought 30 volumes so far, slowly reading my way up the series. I love it! Volume 15 gets 2 thumbs up.
