This is the first book I've read by this author and sure won't br the last!! Highly recommend. Even though strong language does not offend me, I found it refreshing to read a book that had neither "f" bombs every other word or raunchy sex. ( did not have to hide it from grand kids) Thanks!!

Blind Justice by James Scott Bell is a legal thriller. As a drunken lawyer, Jake Denney is accused of being a disgrace to his profession. His marriage is ruined, he is behind in his rent, and the only reason he has not killed himself is his love for his daughter. Then, Jake Denney is called to defend his childhood friend, Howie Patino. Accused of killing his wife, Howie only recalls that the devil was there. As children, Jake often defended Howie, who is mentally "slow." Will he be successful again? Howie's younger sister, Lindsay, insists that her brother is incapable of murder, but her belief in him is not a defense. Jake decides that his best tactic is to instill doubt in the jury. As he tries to save his friend, Jake struggles with his own conflicts. Can Jake save Howie and himself? I recommend this book for the plot, character development, and realistic first person narration.
