Blind Spot (Chesapeake Valor Series #3) by Dani Pettrey

Each of Pettrey's Novels Has Been a Multi-Month Bestseller

FBI agent Declan Grey is in the chase of his life--but isn't sure exactly what he's chasing after. Threatened by a terrorist that "the wrath is coming," Grey fears something horrible is about to be unleashed on American soil. When his investigation leads him to a closed immigrant community, he turns to Tanner Shaw to help him. She's sought justice for refugees and the hurting around the world, and if there's anyone who can help him, it's Tanner.

Tanner Shaw has joined the FBI as a crisis counselor . . . meaning she now has more opportunity to butt heads with Declan. But that tension also includes a spark she can't deny, and she's pretty sure Declan feels the same. But before anything can develop between them, they discover evidence of a terror cell--and soon are in a race against the clock to stop the coming "wrath" that could cost thousands their lives.

Declan and Taylor were both intriguing characters in the previous books and I was very excited to get their story! As the story starts they both are already falling for each other but are afraid that the other person doesn’t share the same level of feelings so they hold back. Then they are put together on a case and get to spend non-stop time with each other, and the truth about how strongly they feel emerges. I absolutely loved Declan and Tanner together! Declan is the strong analytical type and Tanner is about feelings, but their personalities complement each other beautifully despite their differences. There were two cases being worked in this book, Declan and Tanner’s terrorist case and another that was being worked by the rest of the group (who I loved spending more time with). Both mysteries kept me on my toes with twists I didn’t see coming! And the author did a fabulous job of orchestrating everything to flow smoothly and the multiple cases was never confusing or overwhelming! Honestly everything about this book was amazing and I absolutely hated putting it down! And now I am desperate to read book four which I know is going to blow my socks off!! I received this book free from the publisher. I was not required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.

BLIND SPOT is book 3 in the Chesapeake Valor series by Dani Pettrey. It is acceptable as a stand alone, but it would have been much better if I had read the first 2 books in the series. It alternates with 2 major conflicts, and for a short while I was trying to master the knowledge of what was going on between the characters. Declan Grey is trying to stop a terrorist threat to the United State, and Tanner Shaw is appointed to work with him. Their attraction in the midst of antagonism is a great part of the story. At the same time, Griffin and other friends are trying to uncover who has been embezzling money from childhood coach Haywood’s clients' accounts. Haywood is in business with Lowell, but all evidence makes it look like Haywood has been embezzling. He does not want to go to police until the mystery is solved, but while investigating something far worse happens and Griffin and co-workers find themselves on site of a murder mystery. Declan and Tanner are great leading characters in the book, very likeable. Ever the Christian gentleman during their courtship, he and Tanner reveal their inner selves to each other. Tanner is more than the non-feeling, hard working, man she thought he was. His life is nearly snuffed out a couple of times, and one time a character from a previous book enters the scent to save him. This series will definitely have a book four, as various issues need resolved. I received this book from the publisher, and these are my honest thoughts about the book.

Book 3 of Dani Pettrey’s Chesapeake Valor series takes up where Still Life left off. FBI agent Declan Grey knows there’s a threat to his country. What he doesn’t know is where the enemy will strike next. When his best clue leads him to the immigrant community, he turns to Tanner Shaw for help. With her contacts from her last position at the Intercultural Resource Center, Tanner has an “in” with the immigrants in Baltimore. As the new FBI crisis counselor, Tanner is assigned to be Declan’s temporary partner. Already half in love with her, Declan is pretty sure it won’t take much to tip him over that edge. When their first informant is assassinated right in front of them, can Declan and Tanner continue to uncover the clues they need to stop the terrorist attack they know is coming? As they work together, will their love blossom and grow even as killers follow their progress on the case? Griffin McCray and Parker Mitchell both make appearances in book 3. Griffin’s story line investigates the suicide (or was it murder) of their mentor, Haywood Grant. Parker steps in to do forensics on both Declan’s and Griffin’s investigations. Finley, now married to Griffin, and Avery, engaged to Parker, also play significant roles here. Seeing them working together on these cases was like watching a well-oiled machine. Each person has their role and fills it exceptionally well. Weaved throughout the story is all of the main characters’ strong faith in God. They pray about everything, giving God first place in their lives. Their friendship is strong and enduring as well. In many ways, they are a band of brothers who have each other’s back. They count on each other to be the very best people to call on in every situation. I don’t know how long it will be until Luke’s story hits the shelves but I do know it can’t come soon enough! I’ve read all 3 books in the series and since each one builds on the story before, I don’t recommend reading them out of order. Start with Cold Shot, move on to Still Life and continue with Blind Spot. I like how the series has an overall story and each book has a separate mystery to solve. If you love romantic suspense, you won’t be sorry you picked these up!

Blind Spot is the third book in the Chesapeake Valor series and it proves once again that author Dani Pettrey is superb in writing romantic suspense. This book is filled with terroristic threats, sabatoge, motorcycle chases, near death experiences, and suggestions of murder/suicide and it also features amazing characters with strong beliefs. Declan Grey and Tanner Shaw both work for the FBI, they love God and they love their country, and it is evident that they are determined to serve both. They are thrown together when they begin working together on the same case and it soon becomes apparent that they are destined for romance. Their romantic scenes together are very intense but they are never sexually explicit and once again Dani Pettrey proves that Christian fiction can give you a clean, refreshing love story capable of taking your breath away. Declan and Tanner seem perfect for each other and you find yourself hoping that their life journeys are taken with each other! From the first page to the last, I felt like I had stepped on an amusement park ride that was never going to end. Intense excitement, death defying action and breathtaking romance filled the pages of Blind Spot and I hated for this book to end four is on the horizon! I received a complimentary book from the publisher and was under no obligation to post a review.

I fell in love with Dani Pettrey's suspense with her Alaskan series. This newest series is set in Baltimore (well, sort of, these agents do travel) and while they do stand alone, fans won't want to miss the first two books, Cold Shot and Still Life. I am anxiously awaiting the fourth book in this series coming in 2018. BLIND SPOT is an action-packed suspense that starts with a bang and doesn't stop. Three different cases merge into the pages of this book, making it impossible to put down (unless life makes you). I didn't think Tanner or Declan would be characters I could relate to, because they are both like super-heroes of sorts. But Ms. Pettrey created them surprisingly real, making them characters I could care for and root for. For the screamish readers, there are dead bodies. Lots of them. Some rather gruesome scenes and scenarios. But it wasn't creepy. A great book, definitely worth five stars. I can't wait to read Luke's story coming in 2018 I was given a copy free. All opinions are my own.

Dani Pettrey has done it again! I have read every one of Dani’s books, and I have loved them all! Dani writes in such a way that she hooks you from the first to the last page! Her writing is intriguing and edgy, yet it is always clean. Dani has become one of my favorite inspirational romantic suspense writers, and I can’t wait for her next book to be written! “Blind Spot” didn’t fail me. It kept my attention from the first to the last page. Even though there were two cases going on at once, it all worked! This is Book 3 of the Chesapeake Valor series. This book mainly focuses on the lives of Declan and Tanner, although the other characters are included. Declan and Tanner are thrown together in a case involving a closed immigrant community. The case takes many twists and turns. There is a lot of suspense and mystery with some romance thrown in! This book ended on a slight cliff hanger, which is very ingenious on Dani’s part, because readers will be on the edge of their seats waiting for the next book! I would highly recommend this book to anyone that loves good, suspenseful, and intriguing mystery that is extremely clean. Dani Pettrey is an author you do not want to miss! I received this book from the author for my honest opinion.

Dani Pettrey’s third book in the Chesapeake Valor series hits the ground running, and the action never lets up. The intrigue and suspense kept me on the edge of my seat the entire book. There are multiple story lines weaving throughout the book and various characters involved. The author is a master at creating multi-layered main characters that are realistic, vividly drawn, and engaging. Although this can be read as a stand-alone book, the characters and some of the action are carried over from the previous two books in the series, so it would be more enjoyable to read those first. I would recommend this to those who enjoy suspenseful, heart-pounding, action-filled books with a healthy dose of romance thrown in. This is a clean Christian fiction story with a strong thread of faith and trust. I am anxiously awaiting the next book in this series. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book from the author/publisher. All opinions are my own.

Oh my goodness. I am speechless. Can I give this book 6 stars? I just finished the book and my heart is still pounding and my brain is still trying to wrap around the cliff-hanger of an ending.... I love Dani Pettrey. I read her Alaskan Courage series and fell in love with her writing, characters, and the incredible intrigue and mystery infused with romance and faith in each of her books. I did not read the first two books of Chesapeake Valor prior to starting this book, but was able to thoroughly enjoy this book even without the background from the previous two books. Everyone who enjoys contemporary inspirational suspense/romance will love this book. The writing is incredibly fluid and action-packed. I was pleasantly thrilled to find so much action in this book. Alaskan Courage series had good amount of action-filled scenes, but this book topped them all, especially with two different yet simultaneous and intertwined investigations happening throughout the book. The contemporary setting of Baltimore is fun. The solid walk of faith Declan and Tanner both portray is inspirational. The characters are fabulous. They are multi-layered with depth and feel like your friends. The dialogue between the two main characters is natural, funny, and engaging. The camaraderie among the other supporting characters is amazing and makes me wish for a group of friends like that who can work so well together professionally and personally. The point of view sometimes switches from Declan and Tanner to Griffin, Parker, and Luke, which I appreciated. It was nice to see the other guys of the team look at a scene or situation from a different perspective. I also liked that the series continues to showcase each of their lives, even after their "main book" has concluded. Yes, I really need to read the first two books soon.... Declan is an amazing FBI agent, driven by his faith, sense of justice, and protective nature. He's incredibly intelligent, thorough, and detailed but does learn to trust his instinct and follow his feelings during this book. Tanner is a compassionate, loving crisis counselor with a dark past. Her past isn't discussed in lengthy detail in the book but the snippets into her past let the readers know how she became who she is. Their journey into trusting God and each other is quite heartfelt. Now I'm on my way to pick up Cold Shot and Still Life. I'm (impatiently) waiting for the next book to release....... I received a copy of the book from the author's Street Team. I was no required to write a favorable review. All comments and opinions are solely my own.

Any-current-crime-thriller-on-TV, you’ve got nothing on the Chesapeake Valor series! I have been closely following Dani Pettrey’s releases for a while now, because they are not something you would want to miss! Dani combines suspense, espionage, terrorists, and near-death experiences in a way that reminds of the latest crime thriller on T.V., minus the sex, language, and gore. I love how she keeps me reading, keeps me guessing as she weaves the plot. The side plot that continues throughout the book, bringing in different points of view from previous characters is also a part that I really enjoy. Dani is able to do this without detracting from the main plot. I also love the romance element. Because this is a series, the groundwork for Declan and Tanner has already been laid, but comes to a head in Blind Spot, and it’s not something you want to miss! What I admire most, is the outspoken faith element. These characters rely on each other, as friends, but rely on God more. It’s refreshing and energizing when compared to the many crime shows and novels available these days with nothing more to offer than entertainment. I am eagerly anticipating the next release in this series, and I have a feeling it’s only getting better from here! I was provided a copy of this book from the author. The opinions expressed are my own.

Blind Spot is book three in the Chesapeake Valor series and it’s a great addition to the group. Dani Pettrey has a talent for incorporating multiple storylines and weaving them into a strong, suspenseful plot with relatable characters. I loved Declan Grey and his intelligent, controlled manner. The romance between he and Tanner Shaw built to a place where you couldn’t help but cheer them on. I especially loved the mystery of the suicide / murder case. But my favorite character was Luke and I can’t wait for him to take us into book four. At least, I hope he does! The man deserves a happy ending. I enjoy Dani Pettrey’s writing and find myself whipping through her books fast while thoroughly engaged in the story the entire time. Book Four can’t arrive soon enough! I give Blind Spot five out of five stars. A great read with action, suspense and romance.

Blind Spot, the third book in Dani Pettrey's series “Chesapeake Valor”series, is a gripping tale about terrorism, murder, and police work. Set in Maryland, this story follows Declan Grey, a mind-over-matter FBI agent, and the one burdened with shutting down a terrorist attack on Baltimore. As he races against the clock to find out where and when this attack will take place, he also is fighting his feelings towards Tanner Shaw, his friend and co-worker in the case. Only time will tell if justice is served and the terrorists are stopped. I really enjoyed this book. Having read all of Dani’s books up to this point, I am consistently impressed at her ability to make me fall in love with a character through development and details. This book was really unique to me, with all of the unique details and descriptions. I can definitely tell that the author’s home is in Maryland! I was constantly googling different places mentioned in the book. Dani is an eloquent author, able to bring you to a specific place just by her phrasing and description. I was incredibly impressed by both the storyline and character development. It isn’t easy to keep readers coming back for more, but I can tell you most assuredly, I will not stop until I have read the rest of the books she has yet to write! I am always impressed by Pettrey’s ability to pull you into a romance story, all while emphasizing the importance of staying pure until marriage. It is fantastic to find an author you can trust will have a clean, Christian worldview, a suspenseful, page turning mystery, and characters that have very realistic lives and emotions. If you like books with plot twists, engaging characters, and a hopeful paradigm, I would highly suggest EVERY book that Dani Pettrey has written! This book was given to me by the publisher in exchange for my honest review.

The Chesapeake Valor series has been great and with the release of Blind Spot, it continues to build in intensity and intrigue. Pettrey’s pacing doesn’t give her characters or her readers a break. Grab your snacks because once you crack the cover, you may just read straight through to the end—I did. I find the structure of these stories very appealing—how there is a primary overarching storyline as well as an urgent investigation requiring something of all the main characters. In Blind Spot, Declan Grey and Tanner Shaw take point on the overarching story. Although they have had their differences in the past, this novel sees their relationship make a positive turn. The secondary murder investigation (a title I’ve given it to help differentiate between the two) is no less intricate or unpredictable. To this point in the series, Parker and Avery’s love story (Still Life) reigns supreme in my mind. However, if I were to rank the books by the sense of urgency they evoke, Blind Spot just ran with the baton. Will it carry it over the finish line or pass it to the next book in the Chesapeake Valor series? I’ll gladly keep reading to find out! 4.5 Stars Many thanks to Bethany House Publishers for providing me with a review copy. All opinions are my own.

Loved this story. I recommend reading books 1 and 2 first but this was the first I read in the series and I could follow the storyline but it probably would have been better if I had read the first 2 books in the series. I love the characters and that there were 2 storylines. This had many twists and turns within the suspense. Love and hate the ending since the next book won’t be available for a while. I received a copy of this book from the author for a fair and honest opinion that I gave of my own free will.

Dani Pettrey knocks it out of the park once again with her third novel in her Chesapeake Valor series. The main characters in this romantic suspense novel are Declan Grey and Tanner Shaw. Both are working hard to find the terrorist ring and their target before they can cause destruction in the U.S. The romance in the book is definitely present, but it is overshadowed by the evil that they are desperately trying to thwart. There is also a sub-plot, involving a former coach named Haywood who wants Griffin to find out who is skimming money from his clients and making it look like he is the one doing it. This sub-plot involves the subterfuge of various characters as well as a murder and not a little mayhem. And in this third book, Luke, an agent who has been missing for seven years, reappears and has his own mysterious part to play in catching the terrorists. This was a great clean read and very pleasurable entertainment. I am looking forward to book #4 that will focus on the story of Luke.

Blind Spot as defined by Webster's is an area where a person's view is obstructed. That is a very fitting description of the latest novel from the Chesapeake Valor's Series, Blind Spot by Dani Pettrey. This is the third novel in the series and takes readers in the lives of the FBI once more with agent Declan Grey who is teamed up with an attractive crisis counselor, Tanner Shaw. They have been tasked with finding out about a terrorist threat that is taking the lives of each witness that would point them closer to finding out the source and what might be coming. It appears that they are trafficking in young girls, but just as they get one step closer to the truth, their witnesses are being murdered. Now that Declan and Tanner seem to be edging to close for comfort, their lives are now on the line. Griffin and Finley are working on trying to figure out who is embezzling funds from the company Haywood Grant is a co-partner with and fears that he will be held liable to the clients who have trusted him to manage their financial investments. It appears he is being set up, but by whom. Haywood claims he is innocent and if they don't discover who it is, all the evidence piling up will put him in prison for a very long time. As they attend a weekend event, they learn that there are quite a few wealthy guests who know what is happening and confront Haywood about their missing investments. They vow they are going to the police once the weekend event is over, and Haywood appears distraught over the ongoing issues. However when he is found dead in his bathtub, with a suicide note explaining his actions in taking his own life as well as embezzling money from his clients, along with a cryptic note implying he has murdered the Markhams, thing begin to go from bad to worse. I received Blind Spot by Dani Pettrey compliments of Bethany House Publishers. This is a non-stop, action-filled suspense novel that involves lots of bullets flying, high-speed motorcycle racing, and trying to figure things out before our characters do kind of novel. I have not read the previous two novels in the series, and understand that each of them introduces members of the team in more detail. This time the novel revolves around Declan and Tanner, who seem to be fighting more than those who are interested in seeing them dead, but also in the sparks that fly from the chemistry between them. If you love suspense thrillers and a bit of romance, you will LOVE Blind Spot by Dani Pettrey. I would give this one a 4.5 out of 5 stars in my opinion.

I absolutely loved this story. Declan and Tanner are great together and Luke is back. This was edge of your seat excitement, Luke was like Superman showing up when they needed him most. Declan and his team are fighting a war on terror on American soil, they just have to find who is behind it and stop them before it is too late. I can't wait for the next book in the series.

Pettrey continues to ramp up the tension in Blind Spot, the third novel in the Chesapeake Valor series! I highly recommend reading the first two books in the series before picking up Blind Spot. There are relationships and events that have occurred in the previous books that directly impact this story and will give the reader a full understanding of what takes place in this novel. I love the characters in this series. It was so good to see what was happening in the lives of Griffin, Finley, Parker, Avery, Kate, Declan, and Tanner. I really enjoyed watching the way the teams of characters worked to uncover the truth behind the events that unfolded in the book. It was great to see the romantic tension move toward a relationship for Declan and Tanner. These two characters complimented each other well. They were both strong characters, in their abilities as well as their faith. And I appreciated the way Tanner brought out a more compassionate side of Declan. I’m looking so forward to reading book four of this series. I really like the way the author has set up book four to flow from the events of books three. I’m also anticipating a great romantic thread that will keep readers on their toes in the coming book! I received a complimentary copy of this book. All opinions are my own.

This book is a knock your socks off thriller. With each of Pettrey's books, there is plenty of action, and this one certainly does not disappoint. Consider this a bonus book. There are two mystery plots going at once, and the team of characters tackle both. In the style of Tom Clancy and others, Pettrey flips the plot development between the two frequently. I would recommend writing the characters and their roles and relationships on a piece of paper to make it easier to follow. But, don't get me wrong. This is not a hard book to follow. It just has a lot of moving parts. I loved the characters Pettrey introduced at the beginning of the series, and it really nice to continue to follow their lives in each book. This continuity is one of the things I enjoy about a series. I was wondering as I read this book whether there would be another book in the series. I'd be happy if there were 20 more! That question was answered with the cliff hanger ending. If you like solid, suspenseful mysteries full of action, and with a Christian point of view, this book and series is for you.

I just finished reading BIind Spot by Dani Pettrey and I highly recommend it. It is the third book of the Cheasapeake Valor series. So if you haven't read the others (Cold Shot and Still Life) read those, too. Blind Spot tells the story of FBI Agent Declan Grey and FBI Crisis Counselor(and so much more)Tanner Shaw. Declan and Tanner join their friends and coworkers searching for clues and answers when a terrorist tells them in book 2 that "The Wrath is here". The search continues in Blind Spot. It's a fast read with a lot of twist and turns. Loved it, This book is the third in a series, and is not the last. Though you can enjoy the book if you haven't read the rest of the series, I recommend reading the series in order. And understand the storyline continues. If you like Dee Henderson, Irene Hannon or Lynnette Eason, you'll love Dani Pettrey. I received a free copy of this book for an honest review.

Riveting!! This book is one you will not want to put down but also want to savor so as not to end so soon. It is full of fast paced suspense, intrigue and romance from the very beginning. Your attention is grabbed from the opening pages until the end. It is full of surprises that I did not anticipate. I loved Declan and Tanner’s story and the small glimpse we get into Luke’s. Looking forward to the next book in the series!! I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher. All opinions expressed are my own.

“The Wrath is Coming”; with those words Declan Grey was thrust into a threat even more dangerous than first anticipated! Add in Tanner Shaw, now official crisis counselor for the FBI, and the threat to his heart becomes personal. Together they must stop something bigger than them all! Third in the Chesapeake Valor series, this one was an intense page-turner from page one! In it, we get to know Tanner and Declan from the previous books. Now crisis counselor for the bureau, she’s a vital member helping the team. She has a natural knack for getting into the heads of both friend and foe, compelling them into confessing things they normally wouldn’t. Her charm and beauty sets people at ease, and gets them talking. Declan is a go-getter, wanting justice & seeking out the truth. A thorough investigator he leaves no clue unturned or lead un-followed. These two make a fantastic team, both on the case and in matters of the heart. Threats against them ramp up as the story progresses, each attack more heart-pounding than the last! I’d have to say each book gets more intense in action, especially as the threat of a terrorist attack draws closer! Not knowing where or how keeps you glued to the pages wanting to find out right along with the team. As with the first two books, this has two threads in the story line; one is the over-arching thread through each book & the one related to just this story. It was sometimes a little difficult for me to follow two things at once & I had to re-orientate myself several times. Maybe other readers wouldn’t have a problem with this and it’s still a fantastic suspense, after all Dani Pettrey wrote it! The romance was sizzling, but with the restraint I love in a Christian marketed book. Both Tanner and Declan have had feelings for each other previously, but like good agents they are, must put that in the background in light of the case they are trying to solve. I love reuniting with the rest of the team we’ve meet in the first two books; it’s like having a family reunion of sorts! All in all, this is jam-packed with plenty of action & danger, characters with strong faith & teamwork ethics, a great romance, and of course, leaves you anticipating the next installment of the Chesapeake Valor series. It gives a taste of what to expect at the end of this one and I can’t wait! * I received a complimentary copy of this book from Bethany House Publishers on behalf of the author. No favorable review was required and all opinions here are my own. *

I was dying for this book to come out. Whenever I pick up a book by Dani Pettrey I know I am in for a one of a kind ride and I can't wait to get started. Blind Spot is the third book in the Chesapeake Valor series. The Chesapeake Valor Series follows a group of best friends that have known each other since they were kids. They each have special skills, and when brought together can solve almost anything. When the fate of our country is at risk, the stakes are at an all time high. Not only do they need to use every skill they have, but they need to figure it out fast. When murder strikes close to home, what they thought they knew was tested. Can they uncover what seems nearly impossible before it's too late? I had so much fun reading this book. I love the way the characters work together and have learned to read each other. Saying I'm dying to read the next book might be a understatement. I loved the way this story ended and can't wait to meet with the team again. I first met Declan and Tanner in the earlier books and was hoping they would end up together. You don't need to read the other books in this series to enjoy this one. But I'm betting once you read this one you'll be anxious to hear more about these amazing characters. I received a copy of this book and was in no way forced to publish an honest review. All opinions expressed are my own.
