I'm already a fan of J.A. Huss' writing, and this new series does not disappoint. I have to admit that I am not a fan of waiting for the next book in a series or serial to be published (or the marketing ploy). I  was happy to find that although the titles in the series are based on social media, the story is not written in "tweet"/"wall post" format.  J.A. Huss does know how to create interesting characters and keep readers riveted as she reveals all their secrets. I loved the character development in Follow, the first of six books. Grace and Vaughn are a mixed bag of all-messed-up, and when they  meet the fireworks start. Ms. Huss made me want to like them but not quite be able to. I vacillated between being riveted and disgusted  by the choices they made. I am looking forward to reading more about these damaged souls, and I’m keeping my fingers crossed for an  eventual, redemptive HEA. New thoughts after finishing the series: I enjoy JA Huss’ writing. I’ve read many of her books more than once, so signing on for all the pre-orders of this series was not something  I was going to pass up. I did wait until the entire series was published before I started reading, and I am really happy with that decision  since it is a page turner that kept me up late each night reading until I finished. Huss is the master of outwardly strong but truly fragile and damaged female characters who eventually come into their own. Her men  are a beautiful blend of machismo and tenderness. Grace and Vaughn are perfect examples. Grace is strong and weak at the same time.  Vaughn attempts to protect his public image and shield his preferences from gossip mongers by awkwardly acting the BDSM Dom replete  with contracts and NDAs; while he takes care of his partners financially, the commitment-phobe leaves them (and himself) high and dry  emotionally. The interjections of hashtag comments, social media banter and faux pas was a fabulous injection of humor. The depiction of the lavish  lifestyle of Hollywood royalty was mind blowing. The segue between books four and five was excellent. The loose inclusion of characters  from her other series is fun for long-time fans. For the overall series, the plot was compelling. The pace of the story and character  development were perfect. My one disappointment was the uncharacteristic number of typographical errors. Some will see Follow (Social Media #1) as demeaning but it is all about the character introduction and plot set up. If you’re new to  JA Huss’ writing, you may not like or even finish Follow (If you are new to this author, you might want to start with her Rook & Ronin  series to appreciate her writing). You really have to read the entire Social Media series to appreciate the ride. Is it totally redemptive?  I’m not telling. Is there an HEA? You’ll have to read all six books to find out. Is it a standard romance? Definitely not. There is a strong  romance aspect to it, but what Huss does really well is thriller/suspense with a romance parallel.

Vaughn decides he can't be around Grace because if the media finds out about Grace, he will have to end it, not because he doesn't want people to know who he's dating, but because he wants Grace to have her privacy. So Vaughn does what he thinks is best, he has security with her at all times without her knowledge. There is blackmail, secrets and a wedding in this part of the series, but we will have to find out the answers in part four. Are you ready for the answers? I'm counting down the days for Status to release. If you haven't already ordered it, then go do it now.

For the love of doughnuts - JA Huss, what are you DOING TO ME?! Block toyed with my fragile emotions in ways I didn't expect. I spent equal amounts of time smiling and sneering, and more than my fair share of time crying - like, actual tears-running-down-my-face-and-my-husband-giving-me-strange-looks CRYING - while reading the third installment in the brilliant Ms. Huss' Social Media novella series. We were lulled into a false sense of security at the end of Like when Vaughn and Grace seemed to be in a good place. But, with the dawn comes reality after the good sex high has worn off, and now Grace is again having reservations. A few texts from Vaughn, though, and she's back to okay. But, then - radio silence. For two whole weeks. And those weeks change both Vaughn and Grace. Vaughn has time to realize what and who he really wants. Grace has time to realize that she's worth more than a casual dirty screw once a month. And, this time, Grace may have bolstered herself up enough to refuse even her fantasy prince charming. Those two weeks that Grace and Vaughn spent apart - man, those were absolutely pivotial for this series. The change I saw in Vaughn during that time was unbelievable. What was even better is that, I got the impression that the shift even took HIM by surprise. All of a sudden, the thought that Grace may not want to talk to him again after false media reports surface about him is too much for him to bear. The lengths that this unshakable rock of a man goes to just to TALK to her astounded me. It was the absolute height of romanticism and just plain swooniness. But, the absolute best part for me was when both Grace and Vaughn dropped all pretenses and got real with each other. I've been waiting for this moment since the first time they met. Vaughn shrugged off his arrogance (well - most of it, anyway) and stopped fronting for the purposes of maintaining his insatiable desire for control. It seems that Vaughn is well aware that he lost control of this situation with Grace a long time ago, and with that realization comes true freedom - the freedom to *gasp* talk about your feelings! Share your dreams! Beg for forgiveness that you know you don't deserve. Grace absolutely killed me. She is so torn up about Vaughn and whether she should be with him or not. The two weeks apart really gutted her. We all could tell in Like that she was already in love with the guy. She feels stupid and betrayed and humiliated. And, when Vaughn tries to convince her otherwise, like every good female, she tries to guard her heart from further pulverization. But, she's also so very sad. She wants desperately to be loved by somebody, but ESPECIALLY by Vaughn Asher. He's her white knight who was supposed to take her away from her tragic life. And, instead, he (allegedly) dumps her without a word and (allegedly) hooks up with someone far prettier than her. She was destroyed and utterly disappointed, and that was so tough to read. In Grace's internal musings, she's made references to a seemingly tragic past. We didn't know any details until Block. Now, we know some, and it's even worse than we all imagined. And, I have a feeling we haven't even scratched the surface. I think Grace's past, and how Vaughn responds to it, will play a big part in the books moving forward. Unlike the two previous installments, Block did not feature any of Vaughn's sexual proclivities. In fact, he seems intent to show Grace that he is multi-faceted. He shouldn't be judged by what she's seen to date. Backpedal much? Honestly, it was refreshing, this vanilla version of Vaughn. He proves that good sex isn't about using the best toys or whether you have an audience. It's about the feelings behind the act. Block was certainly a roller coaster ride. Things start out good, then they get bad, then things seem to get good again, and at the end... well, it's hard to tell how things stand. I think bad? Again? And, it seems that Vaughn has done something while Grace was drunk that we aren't aware of, and that Vaughn seems to think Grace won't appreciate. I have my suspicions as to what that thing is, but time will tell. In any case, at this halfway point in the Social Media series, it's safe to say I am completely and utterly caught up in the story of these two lost souls.

#ForTheLoveOfFilth I am loving this series! One of the reasons why JA Huss is my favorite author, why I’ve never read the blurb about what the next book is about since I read Tragic and bought everything she has written ever since. If you’re paying attention you will catch it while reading Block. The twists and turns, the action (I love the action), how one word/object has so many important meanings. Don’t forget the romance and steamy sex scenes oh how I love them too. Grace battles with Vaughn every chance she gets; I still can’t wait to see what’s going to happen next between the two of them. With the ink not dry on the NDA Grace feels she made a huge mistake. Vaughn is the man of her dreams he’s “attentive, distant, rough, gentle, sexy, mundane, soft, hard, silent, and talkative.” “Because you like me, Grace. You like me and I you. We’re in like.” “We can’t be in like,” she whispers back. “Like should not be filled with so much discord and fighting.” “Like is passion. And what we have, Grace, is not discord. It’s passion. There’s a difference.” Grace is the girl you can just relate to drinking a little too much in Vegas. Oh Yeah, Vegas Baby. Pink Champagne. The Sheepskin rug is back. Can Vaughn keep Grace in he’s reach? “We don’t need the fairy tale when this is our reality.” Grace if you don’t want Vanghn send him my way. This gets better and better which each book!! And I fall harder and harder for Vaughn f*****g Asher <3 Wow! I don’t even know how to express how much I loved this book. I was sitting at the edge of my seat throughout. My emotions were all over the place. My heart was pounding. My stomach was in knots. My head was spinning. I was truly stunned. I was so caught off guard. My heart went out to Vaughn. You can sense the desperation from him.  Grace is absolutely insane and I just kept screaming in my head “No. No. No.” or “What the f**k are you doing?” and “What is wrong with you?” And then….. What. The. F**k. Just. Happened.!!!! What a f*****g cliffhanger!!  I want to hate cliffhangers but I love cliffhangers. I hate that I love cliffhangers. I hate that JA Huss left us with this cliffhanger. But I love JA Huss for leaving us this cliffhanger!!! UGH!! Job well done, Ms. Huss, you have successfully left me aching, craving and desperate for more!
