Blood Bound by Traci Douglass

Anna Frost had a bad feeling when her twin sister, Liz, told her she'd run off with a member of the notorious Otherworld biker gang, the Blood Ravagers. And her unease skyrockets when her sister subsequently vanishes. The police have no authority and little interest, so Anna decides to take matters into her own hands by infiltrating the group to discover for herself what happened to Liz, where she meets....

Dante, half demon, half human. A mix of two worlds, accepted by neither, he's had no choice but to learn the hard way how to play whatever side of the fence kept him alive during his nearly 500 years of existence. Now, as second-in-command of the Blood Ravagers biker gang, his survival depends on keeping his humanity a secret. Dante's ultimate goal is to fulfill the vows he made over two centuries ago to create a world where half-breeds can live in safety and equality.

But when sheltered schoolteacher Anna finds unexpected, white-hot passion in the arms of Dante, will her quest for the truth cost him more than he ever bargained for? Or will they find a way to save Liz – and their love – together?

3 out of 5 stars. Though I read all of this novel and I found the plot with its unique characters to be an okay read, I can officially say it wasn't for me. YET if you're looking for a paranormal BDSM pain equals pleasure romance novelties this could be for you. Review By: From Me to You ... Blood Bound is book one in the Blood Ravagers series by Traci Douglass. It’s a quick sexy read with a bit of supernatural suspense put in. Blood Bound was enjoyable enough. It’s mainly based on lots of hot sex; between our leads Dante and Anna. The sex is light BDSM. Not hard core. The world was interesting, but I would have liked more meat. The story is mainly a bunch of hot sex with very little plot. Our leads, Anna and Dante, I could’t connect with. They where’t very memorable nor did we get to dive deep into their characters. The secondary characters where enjoyable. I liked Anna’s sister Liz. She seamed to have a good head on her shoulder and then we get to meet two other characters, the Bartender and the Cowboy, who both where amusing. Dante, I liked well enough. He’s our half breed demon and sex-on-a stick. He’s trying to achieve equality and justice. He wants things to change, to have a safe place for those that are half breeds like himself, and a better club. Anna, I didn’t like at all. She comes searching for her twin sister Liz and ends up at the Demon gang’s base. She was annoying, feel into Dante’s arms to quickly and easily not giving a backward glance to her missing sister Liz, and even after finding her sister she still doesn’t believe or want her powers. Anna’s been running away her whole life from her powers, her desires, and her destiny. She continues to run away the entire book even up to the end. Very frustrating! Blood Bound had some good idea’s behind it, but it wasn’t the book for me. If the blurb intrigues you, I urge you to give it a shot. Just because it did not work for me does not mean it won’t for you. Rated: 2.5 Stars *Disclaimer: I received a complimentary copy provided by Traci Douglass via Bewitching Book Tours with the sole purpose of an honest review. Anna was a fifth grade school teacher but she was in Salvation to try to get information about her twin sister Liz. This was a settlement of otherworlders - The Great Reveal had taken place a decade ago and other species had revealed themselves to humans. The Otherworlders even had their own governing body called The Council who made their laws and administered otherworlder justice when needed. Liz and Anna had been identical twins but opposite in personalities. But without Liz, Anna felt like some of herself was missing. Anna had started cutting her forearms again to feel something besides the guilt of her sister’s disappearance There was a bar called Seven where a MC hung out and when Anna mentioned this bar human law enforcement wanted nothing to do with her. So Anna had to investigate herself. The last time Anna had talked to Liz she had talked about Seven and the new man she meant but Liaz wouldn’t give his name. Then Liz’s calls had stopped and she used to call every Sunday at nine p.m. . Also the mental bond Liz and Anna shared had gone quiet. Anna had emailed inquiries and only received one answer from an addict “ Forget Seven and the Blood Ravangers, they are terminal”. As Anna entered Seven all activity ceased and everyone’s attention was on her. As Anna was inching back to the door to leave she heard a voice as her who she was then Anna passed out. The man caught her as she fell. When Anna came to leave and not return but Anna said she had to find the leader of the Blood Ravagers as her sister had mentioned them and maybe he could tell her where Liz was. The man named Dante told Anna Liz was now beyond her reach. Dante somehow knew her secrets about cutting and her masochist side and her desire to be dominated. I really enjoyed this story it really was totally awesome. I felt I was there in Salvation with Anna and Dante. For Anna to be in Seven after being warned about going back in showed how much she loved her sister and how loyal she was to her. Then to be with Dante even though he was half pain demon even though he was half human and that had a lot to do with who Dante really was. To want to free Dante’s type of species and make them accepted was a truly noble thing for Dante to want to achieve also for Liz to be on Dante’s side was great. I also loved the paranormal aspect of this story. I loved the characters and how they were portrayed and interacted. I loved the twists and turns of this story and I highly recommend.

Blood Bound, Blood Ravagers - Book 1,  Traci Douglass Review from Jeannie Zelos book reviews Genre: Sci-fi and Fantasy, Romance  I haven’t read any of Traci’s novels before so didn’t know what to expect. Its a good read, a decent story, but feels too lightweight for me. Its really based around lots of hot sex between Dante and Anna, with a bit of supernatural suspense thrown in. It didn’t feel “real” enough for me to rate higher, I know there’s a massive market for romance reads just like this and I’m sure it’ll do well, but for me I need something with a bit more substance to the story. Anna, searching for her sister, ends up at a Demon gang base. There’s all sorts of illegal things going on there as you’d expect, and Anna ends up central to all the dangers. Sounded a good start but I found it hard to believe a quiet, submissive teacher with just four days to find her sister, would let things ride as she did. Granted Dante is sex-on-a-stick, but she falls into his arms, and bed without a backward glance to poor Liz. Sister - what sister? Oh yes, well just let me get a few more orgasms in first. Well, that's how it felt to me ;-) I couldn’t believe that having got to where she knows Liz has been, to where people have seen her, she kind of sat back and threw herself into hot sex, rather than seek her out. Then when she should be sitting back and waiting she decides to intervene *roll eyes* I’m not a fan of the “new powers” stuff either, where new talents and ones we just don’t otherwise know about come into play just in time to save the day.... Its me, not the book, its a story type that dominates the best sellers, and I’m sure will do well and be perfect for many readers – I'm just not one of them though. Stars: two and a half – I liked the idea, but it didn’t work out for me. Its one that will appeal to many readers though judging by the top ones in bestsellers. If you like those, you’ll probably like this. ARC supplied for review purposes by Netgalley and publisher

Review I have mixed feelings on this story as it is very well written, liked the concept of a motorcycle gang, as I am a huge Sarah Castille fan and her Sinner's series. I just couldn't click with the genre of a mixed human/demon and some of the event that happened in the story... just didn't sit right for me. The connection between Anna and Dante was very well connected, and the powers between the sisters I totally believe in. If this is your genre, I believe the reader would really enjoy this series.
