Blood Dreams is the start of a new trilogy with both new and familiar characters, and although it isn't my favorite story in the Bishop/SCU series, I still found it to be a quick, engaging read.
Dani has come home to Venture, Georgia, to comfort her twin sister, Paris, after her divorce. Or so she says. Both women know that there's really another reason that Dani has finally come home.
These sisters share a bond even closer than the normal one between twins, because they both possess psychic abilities. And Dani has been having dream visions that tell her an evil is coming to Venture, and that a showdown is inevitable.
Bishop and his SCU team have been tracking a vicious serial killer for over a month. When the demented killer made the mistake of killing a Senator's daughter, the murders in Boston abruptly stopped -- but Bishop is sure this particular killer isn't finished. And he's not, because it soon becomes apparent that he's come to the small town of Venture.
With Dani and Paris, Bishop and Miranda, John Garrett and his team from Haven (a civilian pyschic unit started by Bishop), and Venture's sherriff (and once Dani's lover) Marc, you're looking at a situation that's bound to end badly. Because this is one serial killer who is even more evil, and powerful, than any of them ever imagined.
BLOOD DREAMS is definitely a quick read, and kept me guessing throughout the story. Totally enjoyable, and a good set-up for more books centering around these characters. Check it out. I don't think you'll be disappointed.

Each of the books in this series gets more interesting than the last. The paranormal abilities of each member of the specialized FBI unit is slightly different or evolving from what we have seen other characters have in past books. In this book, the plot is twisted and brings together both new characters and past ones we have met before bringing a new level of depth to the book as it isn't starting from scratch introducing entirely new characters. A very intriguing twist that just may not be wrapped up in this book. If you like a good murder mystery and a touch of the paranormal is also intriguing to you, then this series is for you.

Very good Bishop read, but a little short for my taste, too much gore from the Rick mind of a killer. Not enough romance for a thriller/romance novel. All in all fairness I guess I would still give it a 5.

Love Kay Hooper & love this serie!!! This book is for any age that enjoy misteries paranormal information & situations. I have read all other books by this author; even the romance type (I'm not much for romance stories), & yes!!! I would recommend this for book & her other books for club discussions.

I'm new to Kay Hooper so maybe this wasn't the best book to start with. I don't really care about any of the characters in this book. All they do is sit around and talk.ANd what's with this Gabrielle and Roxie character? They seem to have no tie in with the plot except for checking out warehouses. Why are their convaerstions so wierd? On page259 and debating if I should even waste my time to finish.

Hello! Though I have not yet read this book, I have read the first six Bishop/Special Crimes Unit books by Kay Hooper and I loved them! I have the next three books to read and I just ordered series ten through twelve. I have enjoyed all of the books I have read by Kay Hooper so far and I know I will enjoy this book when I get around to reading it. I am sure you will love it too! A murder mystery/crime scene investigation that involves the paranormal; so exciting!
