Overview

Alex has been chosen to lead her nation, but there are those seeking to destroy her. Criminal elements have targeted her family, including her son Liam. An attempted kidnapping sends her husband Rory's blood boiling and he is determined to take out his enemies one by one. Enlisting Tayo's help, he begins his training as a Navy Seal and returns for vengeance.
Meanwhile, relationships must be nurtured and maintained: Tayo and Ciarra, Megan and Neil. Alex and Rory, with Miss Etty's help, must be the glue to keep them together. That, however, is not an easy task when Rory's old flame keeps appearing in their lives, her jealousy fueling a series of events that jeopardize Alex's position as Prime Minister and threaten to send her to the brink.
Blood in the Water is the sequel to Smith-Brown's first novel Sunlight and Dappled Shade, and continues the saga of six childhood friends who struggle to nurture and maintain strong ties that span decades and continents.

About the Author

Dantie Smith-Brown was born and raised in Jamaica, West Indies, where she graduated from teacher's college before migrating to the United States. Changing course upon arrival, at the advice of her father, she became a Respiratory Care Practitioner. Her passion for helping others improve their health and well-being was a driving force behind her returning to her beloved island home to host a health fair along with other members of The Bethel Town and Neighboring Community Association (BTANCA) in Western Jamaica. Her job responsibilities while working at a home care company included writing pieces on respiratory issues involving diabetic patients. This rekindled her love of writing stories and, being an avid reader and a frequent traveler to Jamaica and other areas of the world, she decided to write her own Romance/Adventure novel.
Sunlight and Dappled Shade, her debut novel is a hot, passionate story about people and relationships, love and romance, that highlights the rich cultural heritage and relaxed atmosphere of the tropical island where she was born. Blood in the Water, its sequel continued the romance/adventure. Her love for Track and Field is evident in both sagas, which follow the lives of friends from the fictional Bell Town across the globe, to the Olympics and back.
Dantie is employed as a Respiratory Care Practitioner at a city Hospital in New York. She holds a Bachelor's Degree in Health Services Management and a Master's Degree in Public Health, majoring in Health Promotion.
She currently resides in Long Island with her husband.
