Blood of the Lost was spell-binding, heart pounding, hold on to the edge of your seat, bawl your eyes out, epic fantasy. For those of us that have followed Rylee from the very beginning, this book is a must read. We have epic battles scenes that have been brewing for over half of the 10 book series, old characters are brought back, some in large roles, some in smaller cameo appearances. In this book we see how much Rylee has grown up from the young girl we first met in Priceless. She has evolved into this strong, independent woman who completely trusts and depends on her family, instead of always running off fighting on her own. Her family is where she her true strength is forged. In Blood of the Lost, Rylee isn't just fighting for the lives of the babies, she must save all human and supernatural kind. With her friends and family beside her, anything is possible. As others have noted, the chapters were written differently in this book than in the previous books in the series. You would have a chapter in Rylee's voice, and then the next chapter would be Pamela and then Landon, etc (this was done before, just not to the extent as it is in Blood of the Lost). This was confusing for me and many times I would have to flip back a few pages to figure out who I was reading. It did jar me out of the story, which was frustrating. I understand Shannon did this so we could "hear" everyone's voice one last time before the story ended, but I would have preferred for them to have just said their thoughts directly to Rylee, instead of reading their inner thoughts. However, this is still on my keeper shelf and is one I will read again. The Rylee Adamson series is one of my favorite supernatural series. The world and character building is fantastic. Shannon is such a creative person and I love her take on the supernatural and elemental worlds. I cannot wait to delve deeper into this world with her Elemental series! Before beginning the end, just remember to grab a box of tissues. Maybe two boxes, just in case. Thank you Shannon for bringing us along on this wild ride of love, suspense and heartache! It has truly been wonderful!

I absolutely fell in love with this series. I felt like I got to know each one of the characters personally. Every time I picked up the book I fell right into Rylees world and became a member of her family. I hope more books come out.

BLOOD OF THE LOST passed my final installment must-have checklist with flying colours; all of this series’ characters were in attendance (both living & deceased), no stone was left unturned with regards to pending questions, and the do-or-die battle was glorious. Heck, I even liked how the love triangle was settled, and that there was actually a legit reason for Shannon Mayer’s unusually high body count instead of just an author’s prerogative. There was no shortage of explanations in this book, and I was surprised by how well thought out they all were. Minor threads tend to slip along the way forcing quick convenient resolutions, but not Mayer, her wrap-up was so clean it squeaked. I was very impressed with her plotting prowess, and how every tangent was brought to a fitting conclusion without compromising the pacing or action. It’s apparent that all of the outcomes were outlined in advance, and that nothing was incidental. Rylee has evolved into a powerhouse over the course of ten novels, and yet she was stripped of everything that made her special ability-wise when she confronted Orion which forced her to dig deep, and ensured that the closing fight was fresh and unique. However, as much as I appreciated that fact, and that all of the supernatural factions contributed; I was bummed by the author’s trust-in-the-power-of-love approach as opposed to her customary stabby-stabby. It was kinda… trite. While awaiting this title I started reading THE ELEMENTALS series, and found the timeline somewhat confusing, so I’d recommend following RYLEE ADAMSON to its completion prior to commencing Lark’s story. Mayer came dangerously close to two of my deal breakers (i.e. character revival & a love triangle HEA where both guys win) only to pull out of her hair-raising nose dive, and reach an outcome that was beyond satisfying after such a close call with the ghastly alternative. BLOOD OF THE LOST is proof that you CAN have your cake and eat it too! ~ 4.5 Stars

I was so glad to see this author complete a series the way that it deserves. The ending of the Rylee Adamson series was not predictable but was still a good ending. I love the characters in this series and felt like the book provided some closure for those characters that I have grown to know and love! Great story! Great Series!

I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review. Blood of the Lost is the end to Rylee's series. So sad to see it end! I've loved seeing Rylee build a non-traditional family and grow stronger even throughout some of the most gut wrenching moments. I hated to say goodbye to some of my favorite characters, but I think it had to end the way it did with that final epic battle. The story is fast paced and doesn't leave you time to catch your breath.

I received an ARC copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. This is the final adventure of Rylee and her family. It is an epic ending to a" sitting on the edge of your seat series". Shannon did a great job of tying up the loose ends and making sure the story came together. She answered the outstanding questions and had surprise visits from some of the other loved characters. I love the final show down and the surprise ending. Make sure you have a box of tissue with you when you start this book, you will need it. Alex love Rylee (that is all I will say) This left me wanted more of Lark and the other characters in her other series. I live spin offs and cross overs, don’t you?! Shannon as always you have left me smiling, cringing and in tears. Thanks for the roller coaster ride!

I was given this ARC in exchange for an honest review. Let me start by saying I loved this book. The entire series is one that I got into quickly and took me on a journey that I will never forget. I loved growing with these characters and that Rylee’s family was non-traditional because it was easier for me to relate to. The final battle between Rylee and Orion is stunning and I can’t be anything but happy with the way it ended. I was crying throughout this whole book, but it is okay because the story was amazing. I would definitely recommend this book and the entire series to anyone who is looking for a great series! Guide to my rating system: 1 Star- Didn’t even get through ½ the book 2 Stars- Got through a majority of the book, still didn’t like it 3 Stars- Finished the book, no real preference 4 Stars- Loved the Book 5 Stars- Loved the Book, Will probably re-read

I received an ARC copy of Blood of the lost in exchange for an honest review. I hate to cry. I have followed Rylee and friends stories and their evolution as characters since book 1. Along the way I loved and lost many a favorite. This particular book was hard for me. I'm afraid to say more so I don't give anything away. But damn ... it was a hard one. It was a great read, highly emotionally charged, and I recommend it. But ... prepare yourself, especially if you have read the entire series. Some may be disappointed or downright angry with the end. But it was just so appropriate. Just thinking about it it's making me tear up again!

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review. Shannon has done it again! A wonderful ending to her epic Rylee series. While I'm sad to see it end, Shannon really delivered with this final book. There is laughter and tears throughout. Make sure you have tissues handy! If you've never read a Shannon Mayer book before, give this series a try. You will not be disappointed.

I received an ARC copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. I have to say that the day I started reading this series about a year and a half ago was one of the best decisions I've made in a while. I immediately loved the Rylee Adamson character and fell in love with all the other characters as they were introduced. The last book didn't disappoint. I was torn about reading it because I just didn't want the story to end but Shannon Mayer did an exceptional job in writing the final book just as she did all the other books. There were twists and turns throughout the book and I read every single word on every single page not missing any part of it. I would recommend this series to anyone. It's 5 stars and then some!!!

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review If emotions were colors, this book would be a rainbow. A rollercoaster of events from beginning to end. There are all kinds of euphemisms to describe Blood of the Lost, but none of them will ever do justice to the awesome and amazing end of The Rylee Adamson series. Yes, it's sad to see a series that has captured the hearts and imaginations of SO many come to an end.. We've seen Rylee, Alex, Liam and Milly go through everything possible, and be better for it. We've seen new life and deaths of some of the best. We laughed and cried with Rylee and her family, pack, entourage, whatever you want to call her gang of misfits that conquer the evil in the world when no one else could. In this EPIC final battle of good vs evil, we'll go through all the laughter, tears, fears and action of the past 9 books and 5 (?) novellas, all in one book. Like someone said in one of the Rylee Adamson books, If it's not ok, it's not the end. I wholeheartedly believe that to be true. Enjoy reading The Blood Of The Lost. It'll leave you in a way, but not necessarily the way you think.

Hold on to your butts, this is it! The epic conclusion to an epic series. Get ready for a wildly thrilling ride of nonstop action with enough twists and turns to keep you guessing till the very end. Prepare yourself, this is war, and with that comes casualties. So grab a hand full of tissues, hug a loved one, and immerse yourself in Rylee's world one last time. I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I received an ARC copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. This is book #10 in the Rylee Adamson series and it is also (sadly) the last one. It is very highly recommended to read all the previous books, including the Novellas before starting this one. It is hard to write a review to a conclusion of a series. Some will find it wonderful, some will leave a bit unsatisfied. I have to admit that I’m a tad more in the unsatisfied group. However, I think Shannon Mayer did a wonderful job in general – tying up most of the loose ends and providing an amazing story arc where we finally are going to understand why everything happened the way it happened. And yes, you will have to say a final goodbye to many beloved characters, but as sad as that is (really, get your tissue box close to you once you start reading), the way Shannon tells the story, everything finally makes sense. It is also nice to see more of Lark, Peeta and Cactus and there is a comforting thought that the Elemental series just started and we will hopefully learn more about Rylee’s parents, and maybe even the relationship between Liam and Griffin. The reason I feel a bit unsatisfied is that some questions do remain unanswered – what happened to Catya for example? And also there is battle after battle after battle – and then comes the final battle. And it is a fine one, don’t get me wrong, but I missed some quiet time with each character, a time to breathe and reflect. Anyhow, overall, this is a really well done series and it is also one, which I will enjoy reading over and over again. (While waiting for more great stories from Shannon Mayer)

We have watched Rylee go from finding lost children and being lost herself, to this super powerful tracker with friends, family and a daughter!! Shannon has done such a wonderful job of completing this fantastic series and I'm sad to see the end. There are twists, turns and oh my goodness moments that you won't believe!!!! There will be love and heart break but the ending is done so well, you will be satisfied. Shannon stays true to the story and you won't be disappointed. * I received a free ARC in exchange for an honest review *

I received an ARC copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. I cant believe that this series is over. It is amazing how you can get attached to a character, but Rylee is one of the my all time favorites. This book does a great job of wrapping up the series but it is always hard to lose beloved characters. (no names mentioned as I don't want to spoil it for anyone.) This book has adventure, love and loss. I cried, screamed and smiled throughout this whole series. I encourage everyone to read all of the books in this series or like me, read it several times! You won't be disappointed. As hard as it is to reach the end of a great story, I know that Shannon Mayer will continue to create more great ones for me to enjoy!

I received an ARC copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. What a way to end a book series! I became so attached to all of the characters in these books because they are so well crafted. You truly feel like you know them personally and they become friends. And then you become intrinsically involved in the stories, so much so that you cannot wait for the next book to come out so you can find out what happened to them. Ms. Mayer is such a gifted storyteller, and I cannot recommend her work enough! She never disappoints - NEVER! I feel so lucky to have discovered her as an author and have enjoyed this entire series more than I can say. To Rylee and Liam -- may your love always sustain you and be the eternal foundation that your family is built on. May your next adventure be your best! To Alex -- You are every good thing in the world - always. And thank you.

The ultimate conclusion to an epic adventure. I was given an ARC copy of this by the author in exchange for an honest review. Where do I begin, amazing, awesome, inspiring, seems like a good place. The final battle has arrived the destination set, key players are in place and as always nothing is going as planned. There are so many twists you will get whiplash, have the tissues at the ready and brace yourself to fight for those we have all come to love.

**I received an e-ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.** -------------------------------------------- What to say? I laughed, I cried, I'm going through withdrawl... An epic ending to an emotional and action-packed series. Rylee tried to play by the "rules', but learns that her heart is always a better guide. The timing of this book couldn't have been better considering recent events in the news. I still have one previous book to read so technically the series isn't done for me yet, but I'm all ready hoping for a continuance down the road with 'Cella.

Blood of the Lost Book 10 of the Rylee Adamson Series Shannon Mayer 4.5 Bookgasums Just three little words will rock your world to the core. I could not give this final book in one of my favorite series 5 bookgasums due to the first person point of view style it was written in. I am not a fan of this style where every chapter is a different character’s point of view. This style slows down my reading, causes me confusion and makes it very hard to get into the story. I went into this book not really wanting to read it because I didn’t want to see this series end and because I knew there would be emotional losses that would have me in tears. The last 25% of the book I was in tears or sobbing to the point I couldn’t see the book. Be warned; have tissues close by. Don’t let what I have said so far turn you away from this book. Ms. Mayer did a superb job ending the story. She was able to mention all of Rylee’s ‘family’; both those alive and those that have died along the way in this 10 book series. The book was free of grammar, typos, and formatting issues. As I stated before, the characters though out the series were mentioned and all the loose ends were tied up so readers are not left wondering what happened to so and so. Yes, there will be tears but some will be tears of remembered happiness too. Ms. Mayer has a new series starring Lark, who we have met in 2 of the Rylee books. I am hoping we get to visit with some of the Rylee crew again within the Elemental series. Blood of the Lost is a must read book.

I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review but also bought it on iTunes for my collection :) Yes... you NEED the complete series before reading. As always, a well written story by Shannon Mayer. This story is packed with actions that leaves you flipping through the pages to get to the end. Everything wraps up in a bittersweet but happy ending. A box of tissues might be necessary.
