Blood Red by Heather Graham

Vampires in America?

Yes, they exist; Mark Davidson knows it. And what city is more likely to be stalked by them than New Orleans?

But Lauren Crow doesn't believe in vampires. Not at first. She and her friends are spending a bachelorette weekend in the Big Easy—all fun and games until a fortune-teller predicts a gruesome death. And until Lauren meets Mark, whom she finds absolutely compelling…and quite possibly crazy. He prowls the city by night, searching out vampires. Mark is as drawn to Lauren as she is to him, and not just because she's the image of his murdered fiancée. His obsession with tracking down his lover's killer is part of a vendetta that goes even deeper than grief over his lost love.

As Lauren wrestles with desire and disbelief, sinister shadows lengthen over New Orleans.Vampires. They're threatening Lauren and her friends. And they're about to end the city's truce between the living and the undead!

Praetor Missing
Hello everyone! I'm on my laptop typing this just a warning. Anyway, the meeting is posted, twice, in the next result so go check it out. If I missed you, tell me and I'll add you to a group. Remember, it will be TOMORROW at 9:30 pm Eastern Time sharp. Let me know if you can't make it so I can modify the groups in time. I am posting camp descriptions from my laptop right now only so that they will stick around awhile. Don't do anything stupid! I'll be telling people where camp is moved to if I share a book with you in the coming days but no one will be moving until Thursday so no posting people! I'll work on getting a book with everyone else today as well. I'll be around soon as Mourir and Xhalth so have fun people and stay active! We've made it this far, it won't be too hard to take it the rest of the way. Make me proud. No advertising until Thursday so I don't have to see people being b<_>uttheads and telling someone to go check the applications. Okay, off to finish setting up camp. I'm not doing anything with the Tall Hill until after this battle so do your best. I have my eyes open during important things like this. I bet some of you will be getting promotions soon so do your absolute best. And only ONE prisoner per Clan! Okay, now I'm going :)

Praetor Missing

I found this book rather enjoyable. I did not realize that this was an older book that I read years ago. What I liked most was the supporting characters. They showed up in books before and after this one. The three women who were featured were rather annoying. I dislike people who do stupid things that put themselves and others in harm’s way because “they know better” than the experts.

Blood Red is not your typical romance/thriller. It wasn't what I'd normally pick up, but I really enjoyed it. Three women are in New Orleans for a wild batchelorette weekend and find themselves the target of a vampire. The Vampire chases them and almost succeeds in killing them all, except for a tall, dark and handsome vampire chaser. At first the women don't believe his tales of vampires-until they see the evidence with their own eyes. What follows is a battle between good and evil where everyone is not what they seem. This book is a great read!

This was my first Heather Graham book and it won't be my last, however I was looking for romantic suspense/horror. Nothing about it was scary even if you were alone and reading it at night. And the romance didn't really do it for me either, not like Lisa Jackson or J.R. Ward or Lora Leigh. But the story was good and well written and I did enjoy it even though it wasn't what I thought it was going to be.

Wind quietly stalks along the tall grass, following the scent of a mouse. He vagly smelled fox, but he knew a fox was easy so he didn't worry to much. In a few moments he was two tail lengths away from a mouse. It was very plump and was feeding. He spang out and swiped the mouse up with one paw, put it inbetween his jaws and dissapeared in the tall grass before the mouse or other prey knew what happened. Wind then nodded over to deercloud, "here, take this to Lost, you two can share. I'll keep hunting and don t worry about me. I'm veryngood at hunting alone." He droped the mouse at her paws.

"April fools!" she yells at Praetor Jade before running facefirst into Jay's side. "Oh, um, sorry." She speeds out of the clearing and up a tree.

[Saturday? Meeh . . . . I have lots of sh<_>it to do that day . . . So there's about a 5% chance that I'll show up. Not that that changes anything. ^~^]
She stifles a forlorn yawn, her claws easily slipping in and out of the malleable dirt.

Burst into the camp, smelling of death, herbs, and Praetor Missing. He spoke to no one, but watched with curiosity the quarelling cats. (Quarrel? Quorrel? I dunno! Quit judging me :P)
