“Ever f*cked a pirate?”
He was insufferable, deeply scarred, and frustratingly gorgeous, and he was the man who was blackmailing her into tying the knot.
Cora Harris has never had luck with men. Being the daughter of a ruthless crime boss tended to put a dent in any relationship, but she never imagined she’d get kidnapped in the dead of night by pirates. She sure as hell never imagined the asshole with the smoldering gaze would threaten everyone she loved if she didn’t become his wife.
Only Captain James Crow wants more than just her hand in holy matrimony. He wants her absolute submission. He wants her pain. He wants the one thing she’s never given anyone — her heart. But is he willing to give the daughter of his sworn enemy his in return?
“How easily his eyes could make her forget that he was her captor. Not her savior.”
But when the truth is revealed, can James keep Cora from the true evil in their midst? Can he win before his revenge cost him more than just his life? And how far will Cora go to free herself of the man who enchanted her, seduced her, and when she submitted, imprisoned her?
Vengeance and betrayal will either bring two warring families together or obliterate them all.

*voluntarily and honestly reviewed the ARC I received from Inkslinger PR* I LOVED this so hard. It's not always that I enjoy the real world with crime families and death and scary things and- *shudders* -but with Phoenix, it's never a hesitation. It isn't too intense, it's something I totally click with, and oh my god but I want a pirate of my own! So bad! I liked the writing style. It flowed nicely and quickly when things picked up. It kept the tone personal between the different POVs and it drove me insane sometimes with the way some people were towards my pirate, but in the end, I thought it all worked out for the better and I'm glad that we get a happy ending. It was a nice build up of romance between two people who couldn't deny the physical attraction. All the drama between the bloodlines and stuff was great. The little climaxes made it amazing for me and it's my current favorite read of 2017. I totally cried a few times in the end and overall, it's a book and author I highly recommend you check out. Now.
I need help. I’m not into BDSM. I was a “Virgin Pirates” (even modern pirates) Well… I think I’m a weird case of Stockholm Syndrome… And I wonder if I’ve been living under a rock all this time because I’ve never heard about this author! The male character is a beast, he says he is a monster, not capable of love, yet his actions prove the total opposite, to the essence of true love. I even believe his love is more pure than Cora’s own father (readers will understand me; I SO LOVE the way James dealt with it near the end) He shows an immense loyalty, he is a protector and despite those moments when he turns into a beast blinded by fear or fury, we always feel some kind of tenderness, caring, beyond all his layers. I just love the way Airicka writes her characters, their complexity, with those two worlds that collide, where nothing is black or white. For someone who is supposed to despise Cora, he does the impossible to protect her. Only he is not aware of it at the beginning, or does not /cannot assume it. This book was a real crush for me, a completely unexpected one since, like I said, I’m not into Dark Romance or BDSM, but I just couldn’t put the book down! Airicka writes beautifully, we cannot not love her characters, their complexity, their struggling. And of course, the steamy scenes…. Just wow…. This is not a fairy tale, with precious princesses and gentlemen, nope, it’s dark, violent, but also deeply passionate, tender and even funny, and in the end, this is a love story, darkly romantic, but I totally loved it. I am so looking for more books of Airicka Phoenix!
I have to start first by saying that I would read and enjoy even a grocery list from Airicka. She is one of my Top 10 authors that I thoroughly enjoy. I went into this book reading only the first line of the blurb and was like oh hell yeah. This was a great ride with Cora and James, I loved the chemistry between these two and the dynamic of push and pull of them falling in love. Oh, and they did sizzle quite a lot.
