Blood Will Tell by Angel Nicholas

With the purchase of a darling little house on the Washington coast, Laura Nichols took decisive control of her life. The dramatic ocean vistas are the only type of drama she's willing to allow in her life these days. As a bonus, small towns are toxic to power hungry alpha males. Clean salt air, blue skies, and wet sand stuck to the soles of her feet sound like heaven.

Pity no one told her heaven comes with an expiration label that closely resembles the toe tag on a John Doe. Or that the chief of police in her sleepy town would be more alpha, and far more irresistible, than any Gucci suit wearing date she'd suffered through in Olympia. And if her high-ranking political family finds out about the attempts on her life, a security detail will be camped out in her living room. But hey, what's a little attempted murder between friends?

Angel Nicholas' romantic suspense novels are always at the top of my list. Her latest, Blood Will Tell, did NOT disappoint! Filled with sassy humor, to-die-for romance, characters who embed themselves into my days and nights, and suspense that jumps off the page, there's nothing lacking in his book. I recommend it to all true romantic suspense fans!

My word! This book is amazing!!!! A 30-year-old mystery that is just waiting to be solved, a woman trying to forget her family connections, and a man trying to not repeat the same mistake from his past. This book lived up to and surpassed my expectations. Laura Nichols spent her life under the watchful of the media and public and craved a little bit of privacy. What she got instead was a barely alive mangled body and a police chief that’s too sexy for words. Nate moved from the busy city because of a mistake from his past. Not looking to repeat it, he moved to a little podunk town for a change of pace. In turn, he got Laura and an extremely crime scene. Let the mystery unfold! In a small town where everyone knows everyone and they don’t take to outsiders very well, Laura and Nate have their work cut out for them. Someone is out to kill Laura and Nate won’t let that happen. Because of a guilty conscience, a creepy uncle, and a mysterious guy named “John”, things just keep getting more dangerous for Laura. This was an action-packed book with every chapter getting you one step closer to the killer and revealing events from Laura’s past. Blood Will Tell keeps you on the edge of your seat, greedily needing to know what happens next. Each character draws you in, having you wonder, “Is it them?” This is the first book I’ve read from Angel Nicholas, and it sure won’t be the last!

Riveting Action! A classic who-done-it suspense with a romantic twist that will keep you guessing until the end! (I don’t give out spoilers) Laura Nichols is just trying to get away from the rat race of Seattle. That’s why she bought the little cottage on the beach in the first place. Between the death of her parents and an uncle with plenty of secrets, some much needed solitude is all she needs. Until a man shows up on her doorstep—dead Enter Police Chief Nate Jones—hard-liner alpha male with a suspicious nature, he can’t hardly believe Laura’s story, especially since the so-called dead man she reports is missing. But as the mystery rolls on—and secrets are revealed—there’s more to Laura Nichols than it seems, and Nate feels a need to protect her at all costs. This is the third book I’ve read of Ms. Nicholas, and it’s the best one yet! As always, she’s got a gift for action, and from the get-go, the reader is thrust into the depths of a mystery and love story that’s reminiscent of Heather Graham. Add in her snarky sense of humor, and I found myself laughing at the antics of her characters, including the best date-from-hell scene I’ve ever read. Blood Will Tell is a nail-biter of a romantic suspense with a who-done-it vibe that keeps you guessing until the very end. I can’t wait to see what Ms. Nicholas has in store for us next!
