Hi! It's Mel's assistant - just wanted to let you all know that while this is not the 7th *novel* in the series--there ARE now seven books in the series - 5 novels and 2 companions (including this one.) Bloody Valentine does address the main plotlines from the BB series - the events in this book pick up at about the same time as the end of Misguided Angel. Also, major background story on Charles and Allegra! Do Schuyler and Jack finally bond? What happens with Oliver? Find out in Bloody Valentine!! It's my favorite of Mel's books yet!! -Christina

BLOODY VALENTINE, by Melissa de la Cruz, is the highly anticipated novella about the romances in this series. I love this series anyways so I planned on reading it the second I heard about it, but another plus was the cover. Isn't it absolutely gorgeous? It follows the same theme of the other covers, but I think the flower sealed the deal to make it my favorite so far! This novella is split into three short stories. The first being about Oliver meeting a lady friend in NYC. This was the shortest of the three. It definitely had a bittersweet ending but it definitely gave me some closure. The second story is about Allegra when she was in school and how she met Schuyler's father. I really enjoyed this story thus far in the series Allegra hasn't given us much info about her life before being in the hospital. It was exciting to read about Cordelia again (I missed her!) and a younger (and somewhat bratty) Charles. The last story was the longest, and most anticipated. Jack and Schuyler were preparing for their bonding. If you didn't think these two were meant to be together before, now is the time to give it up! I love how their relationship has grown. They are more attuned to each other now then ever and both would stop at nothing to protect the other. Their relationship is beautiful and magnificent to read about. There was a little action in this piece but the main focus was their bonding. Melissa pulled out all the stops on making their ceremony breathtaking. Fans of this series will want to pick this up as soon as they can. It is a lovely little treat and gives a little more insight to this amazing vampire series.

Three stories, three people, three tales of enlightenment. Ollie, suffering because of Sky, meets Freya. What will happen between the two? Allegra's, Gabrielles, story. What made her turn to a human? Schuyler and Jack, the star-crossed lovers. I loved these stories, they were beautiful!

I can I just say that this cover is lovely? I am going to assume that this is Sky and say that she looks to die for! This will probably turn out to be my favorite book in the series for the sole reason of Jack & Sky bonding. Cannot wait!

This book will be awsome. I can't wait to see the other two love stories she puts in the book besides Sky and Jack's. This isn't part of the series directly. This is more of a spin-off like Keys to the Repository. I can't wait. Make sure to check out Melissa's web site to find out more!

Okay so, this is not the 7th book and the 6th book "lost in time" hasn't come out yet. Bloody Valentine is a novella basically that has the same characters but is not along the same plot of the other books. Book 6 comes out next October(2011).

Three short stories: Oliver finds himself longing for Schuyler. He knows that she's gone, possibly forever, and yet...he's in so much pain. He can't get her out of his head. Then he meets Freya. She might have the power to break the bond between Oliver and Schuyler. Allegra doesn't feel right after what happened in Florence. At the moment, Charles is her twin brother. In this world, a twin brother with a crush on you doesn't fit in. Allegra cares for Charles, but she no longer feels worthy of his love. Instead, out of guilt and anger she pushes him away. Matters don't improve when she starts spending time with Ben. Schuyler and Jack have been waiting for their bonding - waiting for the time when they will truly belong to each other. Schuyler wants everything to be perfect. She searches for the right dress to make the occasion unforgettable. But there's one thing missing from her big day: her friends. Jack goes to great lengths to reach out to them in hopes that they will join the couple. But Schuyler's greatest wish could also be her downfall. I love the BLUE BLOODS series, and seeing more from my favorite characters made me happy. I enjoyed the merging of the past and present, which leads to more understanding of what's happening now. BLOODY VALENTINE is a very quick but satisfying read.

Hi Okay, I something official stating that this is not #7. So lets talk about the book. I have always wanted this series to take a more romantic turn and it has, so what else is there to say.

Altogether, this was a nice, easy collection of stories. Oliver's initial story in the book set a fairly depressing tone, especially since I always felt for him. His story seems to try to make you feel that Oliver will somehow be "okay," but I felt overwhelming sadness for this character and all he's been through as Schuyler's much-used friend (talk about an understatement). The other two stories in the collection were nice additions to the back story that we've wanted. I've especially wanted to know more about Schuyler's mother, and this collection gave us a small glimpse into her story. On the whole, this is a well-written compilation. If you have read the series (and I would definitely recommend you read the other books beforehand), these stories are a nice addition to what we know about the characters. Besides, the cover is so pretty, how could you resist picking it up to get a little more to the back story?!?

In the first story we get to see Oliver finally heal and get over his love for Schuyler. We also get a small introduction to the upcoming book The Witches. The second story is about how Allegra first met Ben, Schuyler¿s father it was interesting look into Allegra & Charles¿ past. And the final story is the one we¿ve all been waiting for Schuyler & Jack¿s bonding with a few hiccups and some action along the way. We also get to see Bliss which was nice since her name wasn¿t even mentioned in the last book. This was an ok little addition to the Blue Bloods story I don¿t really understand why Oliver¿s story and the bonding story couldn¿t have just been in the last book though.3 ½ Stars

For reasons I don't understand, I love this series and I keep reading all the 'in between' books. This one is a collection of three short stories that take place before the most recent book, and far in the past. I liked them all and it went a long way to keep me from being annoyed with Jack and Schuyler. I also still love Oliver. I did find, though, that I don't care as much about Schuyler's mother as I could, but that was okay. I cannot wait for more in this series.

This was a set of three short stories set in the Blue Bloods series, timeline wise they take place after the fifth book in the series, Misguided Angel. The next full book in the series is due to be released in October 2011 and will be titled Lost in Time. Overall this was an okay read for fans of the series. It fills in some gaps that were apparent in Misguided Angel and takes us through the bonding ceremony for Schulyer and Jack. There are three stories in this book. The first is from Oliver's perspective. He is dealing with his dependence on Schulyer's blood and a witch named Freya enters the story to help him. Freya is going to be featured in Cruz's new series The Witches of East End (due out later this summer). The second story tells about how Allegra and Ben meet and fell in love and is set in the 1980's. The third is the longest and tells the story of Schuyler and Jack's bonding ceremony. All of the stories were okay, but none of them progressed the story much. It was nice to get some background on what was happening with Oliver, he kind of got dropped in the last book and I missed him. Hearing the story of Allegra's past gives some excellent insight into Schulyer's parents and why they made some of the decisions they did. Of course Schulyer and Jack's bonding ceremony was nice to read about and actually had some interesting parts to it. It was also good to hear a bit from Bliss and find out some about what she's been up to.I am going to be honest, Misguided Angel, wasn't my favorite of the Blue Bloods seemed a little bit like filler to me. This set of short stories is similar. It is nice to know what is going on with some of the characters that were missing in Misguided Angels. This book still feels like filler to me though. I am starting to wonder if Cruz really knows where she is taking this series. I plan on reading the next book, Lost in Time, in hopes that the epic story that was so awesome in the fourth book will be picked up again and progressed.Overall well-written and an okay addition to the series. Mainly little filler stories to fill in the parts that were neglected in Misguided Angel. A fine light read, but not much progression as far as the story goes. I am hoping that the next book, Lost in Time, picks up the main story again.
