Overview

Blue Collar Comedy Tour Rides Again

The slightly twisted stars of Comedy Central's hit show Blue Collar Comedy are here, captured in a live performance before an appreciative audience that seems to recognize itself in the troupe's various southern-slanted observations on the differences between men and women. For those who like their humor with a bit of a blue tinge, Ron White and Larry the Cable Guy venture off into those waters once in a while, whereas Bill Engvall and Jeff Foxworthy score at will by simply observing the interaction between the sexes and marveling at the ensuing confusion and chaos. Engvall sets the stage by pointing out that "men have three basic needs in life: eating, sleeping, sex. And I can do all three of those in my truck. By myself. In traffic." Foxworthy, in a hilarious revamping of his classic "You might be a redneck" routine, notes that "if you're a man and you can't remember the last time you had sex with a woman, you're either gay or you're married." Larry the Cable Guy, the one member of the quartet who actively banters with the audience, breaks down the fourth wall with bits such as "If the shorts get any shorter on them girls at Hooters, the FDA's gonna make 'em start wearing hair nets. If you don't think that's funny you get the hell outta here, because that's a funny joke." White gets into the mating yin-yang too, but he also goes global with the closest thing to social commentary offered here, in his musings on the Chinese space program and Mexico's medical system, as well as the folly of support groups and bladder control products. If you don't like it, you get outta here, 'cause it's funny stuff on this disc.
