Charlotte Wilde gives her heart to the wrong men. The last one left with her life savings and their nubile neighbor. Her first published cozy mystery is a flop. Her literary agent's about to dump her. She has a serious case of writer's block. And she's dead broke.

Which is how she finds herself in rural Idaho looking after her former boss's elderly mother-in-law. While Mrs. Lanigan recovers from her broken hip, Charlotte expects to have plenty of time to focus on her writing. What she gets instead are two very large distractions: the patient herself, and the patient's son Ardan Lanigan.

As Charlotte dutifully sets out to help Mrs. Lanigan sort through a box of old letters, both women become consumed with the details written on every page. What seemed at first to be ordinary correspondence between Mrs. Lanigan's mother and an unknown man makes her question everything she thought she knew about the identity of her father.

Then there's Ardan. Intelligent, quiet, and bookishly handsome, Charlotte feels an immediate connection to him. Unfortunately, he's made promises to someone else. Ones he cannot break.

In the third installment of the Blue Mountain Series, Tess Thompson reunites us with the Lanigan brothers, their cranky mother, and the feisty Heywood sisters. This story of forbidden love and hundred-year old mystery will keep you turning pages way past your bedtime.

This book was excellent but the description on the nook did not match the story. It was suppose to be the third book in a series. Would like to know what the third book is because I would really love to read it.

First off this is an interesting almost haunting and different from the rest of the series but it so fits Ardan's personality to a tee. Of course he would be the one to have an "other worldly" type of build on his capture by the love bug. He is the quiet, thoughtful writer, the dreamer of the brothers so yeah this book fits him perfectly. Moonstone and her predictions, give him just what he needs to be other than his norm and brings out an Ardan no one knows exist and I think he even surprises himself. His book is more spiritual than the others and it all works really well but it does require that you walk on the wild side a bit to enjoy his story which also includes his mother, the past, voices and dreams. I love the way the author interweaves it all, even the unexpected visitor, works well. Nothing is simple for this author and the dip into the past with the letters just adds the cherry on top. I love that his journey is so different from the others. Charlotte is a breath of fresh air that brings it all together and makes this story work. I loved it and the spin the author gives us I can't wait to see what happens to the last woman standing when it's Teagan's turn, the last sibling to get tagged and bagged by love.

Great cast of likeable characters in a jewel like setting. Especially fun banter between Charlotte and Mrs. "mean old thing" Lanigan. Only wished I had read the previous titles as this book didn't completely stand alone. pbn

When I first started this story, I didn't know how it could continue now that both Heywood sisters were happy, but I forgot about Charlotte, Bliss's ex-assistant. This is her story, and I am so glad she got one. Charlotte finds herself coming to the aid of Mrs. Lanigan, mother to Kevan, Ciaran, and the other Lanigan siblings after a fall breaks her hip. Charlotte finds herself in Idaho to help and is directly in the path of another Lanigan brother, Ardan. A magical and mysterious love story follows. This story can be described in one word. MAGICAL. From the beginning, it seems like nothing is going to keep Charlotte and Ardan apart. I fell in love with these two, who we meet briefly in the earlier books, hook, line, and sinker. The story was well written and easy to fall in love with. These two have great chemistry that jumps off the pages. As characters, they are so easy to love. This story brought a mystery and some painfulness, but they made this all the better. Once again Tess did not disappoint. Each book I read makes me love her writing so much more than I thought I could. She is definitely my new favorite author. I absolutely loved this book. It was my favorite so far.

Wow! After I read Blue Midnight and Blue Moon (books 1 and 2 in the series) I was so excited to read Blue Ink. I have grown to love the Lanigan family of Peregrine, Idaho. This installment follows brother Ardan and Charlotte Wilde. Charlotte is the glue that the family needed. Honestly though there is so much more to this book. There is a TON going on in this book. Every page you turn has more and more going on with different family members and friends. Some really funny bits tucked within the chapters. Overall though I would say this one pulls the heartstrings. I teared up at some points. I LOVE the letters that are found and think that they can make their very own stand-alone book. I cannot wait to see what life has in store for the Lanigan family and Teagan, in particular. Thanks for the great read, Tess! Keep them coming!

Thompson has found a clever way of giving double the pleasure and twice the heart. Blue Ink is a love story wrapped in a mystery. When circumstance finds a young woman searching for a new direction, fate hands her a most intriguing prospect. Charlotte Wilde is working her way back from a major disappointment. Broke and in need of a distraction, she finds more than bargained for when a cranky old woman and her son enter her life. Caught in the middle of an unpredictable attraction and an age old mystery, Charlotte and heart are about to learn that it's the surprises in life that make the experience worthwhile. A pleasureful masterpiece of storytelling.
