Overview

Angel DeLucca is one of the most sought after gay bachelors in Virginia Beach. He's smart successful, lethal, and more than anything he's drop dead gorgeous. Angel has his pick of the men that come to his popular Oceanfront night club, but lately the one night stands haven't been enough...Angel craves something deeper. When a one night hook-up goes terribly wrong, Angel comes into contact with the breathtaking Maximus (Max) Strong.
Max is a firefighter for the Virginia Beach Fire Department. Max is beautiful, charming, and also very straight. One meeting with the mysteriously, sexy Angel DeLucca and a whiff of that silky, jet black hair, Max finds himself questioning everything he's known to be true about himself. Max tries desperately to understand the new feelings he has for another man and turns to his gay, older brother...Ryker.
Ryker has always been Max's protector and his guide their entire lives, which has left him feeling uncared for and alone to handle his own life's problems. Ryker craves to be taken care of, he craves the attention and praise of a Master. No one knows the dark desires within him until Angel's Chief of Security, Sebastian 'Bass' Bagatelli, shatters that secret with their first intense encounter.
How will Angel win the heart of the straight firefighter that was tailor-made just for him? Will Max be able to continue denying his feelings for another man? Can Ryker and Bass get through their personal issues to take and receive what they both need from each other? Or will they each give up on a happiness that appears too good to be true?
These men's stories will unravel in a whirlwind of romance, bdsm, revelations, lots of action and very hot sex, co-starring very entertaining supporting characters.

I received a copy of this book for free in exchange for an honest review. The story starts out with Angel deLucca, owner of Blue Moon club and a man looking for love in all the wrong places. He meets firefighter Max Strong one night and sparks fly immediately between them. Max is attracted to Angel, but there's a problem... he's straight. He turns to his older brother Ryker for advice and with his support and encouragement, decides to pursue his attraction and see where it leads. Meanwhile, Ryker is on a search of his own. He meets Bass, Angel's Security Chief and close friend (not to mention a Dom) at Blue Moon. They are drawn to each other, though Angel cautions his friend to be careful with Max's beloved brother.  Bass recognizes Ryker is a sub and proceeds to woo the other man. While Ryker is hesitant to trust Bass because of a bad experience with his previous Dom, he is also undeniably drawn to Bass and his promises.  This book is between 2.5 - 3 stars for me. While it has two of my favorite genres (gfy and BDSM) and has two explosively hot couples, there were things that just didn't agree with me. I like gfy stories and it was fun to watch Angel and Max find love with each other, however, the insta-porn/insta-lust detracted from that. I just couldn't believe that "straight until now" Max was willing to jump into bed with another man so quickly. The BDSM aspect was poorly executed - Bass came on too strongly and was bordering on stalkerish in the beginning. As a recurring theme in this book, Bass and Ryker jumped into their Dom/sub relationship too quickly... I didn't like how it made Ryker seem too desperate. Overall, the book was a little too wordy for me. I didn't need a paragraph-long description of every single secondary character that's probably not essential to the story. It was  distracting. The dialogue could have used work, too, because some of it was downright cheesy (but it made me grin, so it wasn't that bad). Some things were just too unreal (i.e. microchip implants, anyone?) and some characters seem to perfect to be real (i.e. Angel's dad and his uncles – a band of Marty Sue's). Other things that needed work were some minor editing problems and the dual storyline that I'm not a fan of. It would have been better to focus on one central couple than split the attention between the two. The plot could have been developed more if there weren’t all these things going on at once. The third part of the book, where the action and drama were, felt like an afterthought. As this was the author's first book, I have to say it was a good effort even though it needed polishing. It's my hope that my review (and the others' reviews) would help the author make succeeding books even better.

This is such a awesome story with so much depth and heart. The characters all have their own personality that mix together so wonderfully. Can't wait for the next book.

Angel DeLucca is a hot, sexy successful bar owner. He is tired of one offs and hook-ups. He wants to meet his one and only. A disgruntled hook-up pulls the fire alarm as he is being escorted out on a busy holiday night. The moment the hot firefighter walks in Angel knows he is the one. The trouble is Max is straight. Max is ready to settle down and find his soul mate. He is tired of failed relationships and can’t figure out why he isn’t happy with any women he has been with. Then by chance he meets Angel and his entire world is changed with a false alarm. This is a really good story with some awesome characters. A.E Via can really do hot, sexy, intriguing men well. In this book, we sort of have a collage of stories. The first part of the book we meet Angel and Max. This section is basically their meeting and getting together and I warn you it’s hot, sexy and sensual. Then we get a bonus in part two with Max’s bother Ryder and Angel’s head of security and best friend Sebastian. Bass is a master Dom but he too is tired of looking for the perfect sub. After having his heart broken and the sub he that was his cheat he has remained celibate and out of the clubs until he finds his perfect sub. In walks Ryder with Max, and Bass knows Ryder is his. But, does Ryder, tough take charge protector of max, know he is a sub? As if all this isn’t enough in part three we get all of these relationships wrapped up in an explosive plot twist. I will say for me the book started of slow and I was a bit unsure of all these love at first sight romances going on. But I loved the characters and the interaction and struggle of them trying to work through their issues. I would have liked a bit more of the bdsm scenes with Ryker and Bass. I thought they were smokin hot together. I loved the plot action and Angels Dad and crew. I would have loved to have seen this earlier in the book with a little more action. There were so many great men introduced near the end I am excited to see whose story is next! I can’t wait. If you like sexy bar owners, firefighters, Dom/Sub relationships, secret agents and a twist. Oh don’t forget some sizzling hot man-sex! Someone bring out the hot firefighter!

I received a free copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review. 3.5 stars: Blue Moon: Too Good to Be True by A.E. Via was an interesting story told in 3 parts about a pair of brothers and the men they fall in love with. While some parts of this story I quite enjoyed, other elements of the story I didn’t enjoy as much. On the plus side - I liked the 4 main characters, and many of the secondary characters. The settings were well laid out, and the pace for the most part flowed quite well. On the negative side - I found the text often fell in the way too verbose, dragging feeling, with a ton of product names dropping, especially big ticket items, which I find a bit annoying/distracting from the story (for me). I didn’t mind the insta-lust that many seem to have an issue with , I thought it was quite well played out for the most part: between 4 very self confident men who see who they want and proceed to pursue the relationships with no hesitation. There were a few inconsistent character elements that weren’t as believable, and especially at the end, a tendency to depend on too many happy coincidences. But for the most part - these didn’t detract too much from the story. An interesting touch to the story is the separation of the story into the three sections. The three parts of the story, are each interwoven to each other, but are each told in a very different storytelling style. Part One is a GFY love story between Angel and Max, which focuses on the emotional development between the two. Part two is a mild BDSM story between Ryker and Sebastian, where we don’t get as much couple development time for the couple, but instead focus more on the healing aspects of the budding a relationship on past hurts, and the strength provided between the two lovers . Part three is an action story, where you see a lot of interactions with the secondary characters from both of the first two parts, as the story comes to a head. An interesting story well worth a read. As a first novel for A.E. Via - definitely signs of good things to come

I received this book free for an honest review. I thought this book was a fantastic read! Love comes instantly for two couples, which I usually don't particularly like, but the dialogue allows you to overlook that bit of unbelievability. You really have three stories in this book; the story of how close the brothers are and there dependence on each other (The funniest lines in the book are between the two), and each of their love stories. Max believes he's straight until he sees Angel. His brother is gay and so is his boss so the idea he finds a guy attractive really isn't that big a deal for him so he goes with it. His brother Ryker who has had a bad BDSM experience meets Bas (a master Dom friend of Angels). All the men are looking for THEIR ONE AND ONLY. Ryker has always been big brother and protector to Max, but deep down is a sub looking for someone to love and be there for him. The relationship between brothers is close and touching. Angels father is part of a paramilitary team that does training for the government. The team raised Angel and all the members consider him a son. There is a kidnapping and a rescue in which the reader is treated to the different team members personalities. I hope there are more stories coming. I laughed at times and I shed tears at times. The story moves along at a good pace. A little bit of everything. I enjoyed this read!

I’m a fan of Ms. Via’s writings, because there is just something about her books that makes me fall in love with the characters, the story, and I can’t put the books down once I start them. That was completely the case with this book as well, it caught my attention as soon as I started it, and I was so upset when the book ended because I just wanted more! Now, the reason why I only gave this book 4 stars instead of 5, despite how much I enjoy the story was because I actually felt like there was too much happening in this book. Not only were we following the story of Angel and Max, but also Ryker and Bass. Both couples were very powerful and important, but I felt as if they should have each had their own stories. That way we would have been able to focus more on each couple instead of splitting my attention between the two of them. Don’t get me wrong, I did still enjoy the story quite a bit, and I can’t wait for the next one, and I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys this genre. This book is one of my favorites of the year so far and I can’t wait to see what Ms. Via has in store for us in the future! (This book was received free in return for an honest review) I was drawn in by the book’s teaser, but this story was so unexpectantly much more. The author’s writing style drew me in and I could feel the character’s emotions. The teaser mentions BDSM, but there was only a mention here and there of it. The story focuses more on D/s relationships. The book was set in three parts. Part 1 focused solely on Max and Angel’s romance. Part 2 focused more on Ryker and Bass while still telling Max and Angel's story. Also introduced are Max’s and Angel’s co-workers and Angel’s father and “uncles” (the Navy SEAL team) that raised him. The author seamlessly works in all the secondary characters making each one memorable even though there are quite a few of them. Part 3: Kidnapping occurs (I won’t spoil it with who) and the SEALs, SWAT, and DEA join forces to oust the bad guys. My absolute favorite scenario – sexy military men and missions. Other budding romances (and missions) are eluded to so I expect there will be a sequel. Hopefully soon!

I received a free copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review. I would rate this book anywhere between 3 - 3.5 stars. Warning:  For those who dislike insta-love then this is not the book for you.  Both relationships have the insta-love theme.  Also this book does have some very unrealistic events.  Personally this does not bother me because I expect it in fiction, but I know it can bother others. The story starts off at the club Blue Moon.  Angel is the owner of the club.  He is they type of guy people flock to, but he is tired of the typical one night stands.  He wants something more.  One night he meets firefighter Max Strong.  Angel knows this is the guy for him and Max has the same connection.  One problem though, Max is not gay.  Max is very open to the possibility that he could like men.   The one person Max always turns to when he is confused or in trouble is his older brother Ryker.  Max and Ryer grew up in an abusive home and Ryker practically raised Max.  He has always been there for Max.  With Ryker’s support Max sets out to see where a relationship with Angel would lead. In the meantime, Ryker has been carrying a secret.  He desperately needs someone to submit to.  He has spent his entire life caring and looking after others, that he needs someone to do the same for him.  He meets Sebastian “Bass” at the Blue Moon.  Bass is Angel’s Security Chief and a Master Dom.  Bass knows exactly what Ryker needs but Rykers biggest fear is to give everything to someone and in exchange have them turn him away.  Once again there is a insta-love connection between the two.  Honestly, my favorite couple is Ryker and Sebastian.  You can see how they easily fit together.  The insta-love was a little off-putting, but not a deal breaker for me.   Overall the story flowed nicely.  There was little downtime which was great.  The book is separated into three parts.  The first part is about Max and Angel getting together and introducing Ryker and Bass.  The second part is about Ryker and Bass coming together and  Max and Angel’s relationship building.  The last part was when all hell breaks loose and the drama hits.   Like I said earlier, there are a lot of unrealistic events happening in the book but it is genuinely a sweet story.  For me, the main focus of the book was the brothers Max and Ryker.  Max has always relied on Ryker for help in every situation and Ryker always took it up the challenge to help his brother no matter what it cost him.  During the book you see the shift from Max relying on Ryker to working things out for himself.  Ryker works to let go of his role as Max’s rescuer and focuses on his own needs for a change. I did enjoy the book and would definitely look for the others in the series.  If you want a nice read filled with alpha males and men looking for everlasting love, then this would fit nicely.
