The Adventure Continues in This Thrilling Series Climax This book picks up where the last one ended.  Egg and his friends are on the ship of the pirate Burn Healy.  Fortunately, Burn has just saved Egg from being killed by the greedy slave owner Roger Pembroke (you know, Egg's true love Millicent's father).  Unfortunately, the ship is sinking and they are being chased by ships determined to finish them off. Even if Egg survives that crisis, he still needs to figure out how to defeat Pembroke once and for all.  Considering his connections and wealth, that is going to be much harder than it sounds.  Meanwhile, he meets Cyril, the other contender for Millicent's heart.  How will it all end? With lots of page turning action, good characters, and a dash of humor.  Yep, if you've read the first two books in the trilogy, you won't be disappointed in the slightest.  This is a wonderful climax filled with the same things we've come to love.  The plot has some good twists, and more than once I was turning pages as fast as possible to figure out what happens next.  The characters are as strong as ever.  And there's just that dash of humor to keep things lively. Of course, if you've missed the first two books, don't start here.  You'll be confused and not follow everything that is happening - not to mention the major spoilers for the previous two books.  This ride is completely worth it, however. All three of these books are a journey well worth taking for middle school readers and those who still enjoy the genre.  I'm certainly glad I took this trip.

I believe the author wanted to end this adventure. I felt the story could go on with the characters he developed. I still enjoyed it nonetheless. I hope i can find another pirate book like this one!!!
