Overview

Boarded by Love by Toni Aleo

From New York Times and USA Today bestselling author, Toni Aleo, comes a spin off series from the Assassins: The Bellevue Bullies!
Jude Sinclair here, hockey player for the Bellevue Bullies and lover of all ladies. Hockey's in my blood, and not to sound full of myself, but I'm good at it...really good. The draft is within my reach--it's mine to take--but that's not the only reason people know my name. They know me because of my way with women. They know the score, and I aim to please. I just tend to stay away from repeat performances. In other words, I don't do relationships beyond my family and friends. I'm happy with life. However, I should warn you that my story and how I see it playing out is about to change due to a certain redhead on campus.
She's beautiful. Stunning. Breathtaking.
She's my game changer.
***
He's trouble from the moment I see him. I don't know what I'm thinking, but from the moment I meet his gaze, I'm his. It's a scary feeling.
I've never trusted anyone outside my aunt and uncle--and even that took months. I didn't have it easy growing up. My mom was usually strung out, and she didn't give me a second thought. Drugs and the men who paid her were more important to her. It was horrible, but I'm stronger today. Because of my past, security is what I need most. Money assures me that I can take care of myself today, tomorrow, and next month. I don't want to ever be hungry or go without again, so I work hard for every penny.
Oh, by the way, I'm Claire Anderson. I'm a hard-studying sophomore at the University of Bellevue, dancer for the school dance team, and a burlesque dancer at a club, but that's my secret.
***
You may think you know how our story ends, but you have no clue. It's not easy falling in love... or living happily ever after. At first it may seem so, but when is anything worth having ever won without a fight?
Especially when you're boarded by love.

So I loved the Assassins series.  This with the younger group was just not there for me. It really seemed to drag on and on and on.  Never good when you start skimming to get to the meat of the story.  Plus, I'm just not buying the man-whore thing.  So tired of that story from many authors.  It's so unattractive.  You can make them a bad boy without being such a man-whore.

If you have read the Assassin Series you know Claire... The troubled kid that is Phillips Niece. I wanted to read her story and I guess I liked it... However, that said, I could put this one down and walk away for periods of time... The story and the writing weren't bad, just predictable and sometimes dragged out... Wasn't really exciting until the end... Love Toni Aleo stories and she knows her hockey... This just wasn't one of her best in my opinion... will definitely read the next one since I am now invested in Jude's family.. Hope his brothers get their stories.. Hope his Mom gets a big settlement from her cheating husband...

I love the Assassin series but I couldn't get into this one. The story is set in college but I felt like I was reading about 12 year olds. They were so immature & the story jumped around so much. Jude decides not to be a manwhore within hours of sleeping with Claire & being in a full time relationship. I love Toni's books but the last few seem to be going downhill. The characters were not lovable and almost seemed like the mean kids on campus. I didn't even finish because the writing was so bad. Very disappointed. I felt like I was reading an authors debut novel instead of someone with experience & established betas & people to give feedback.

Boarded by Love is another "page turner" in the Toni Aleo series of hockey centered romances. Toni knows hockey and she knows how to tell a story of romance: an unbeatable combination. The characters are believable and while ties to previous Assassins stories are present, a new reader will find that this story stands alone. It will only make the new reader want to read the stories of the Assassins series to get to know the Assassins and their back-stories. I loved this book as much as I have the previous ones.

I can understand what led to Claire's secret but when it finally came out, I thought she still remained very self-centered.

I enjoyed the book, but the writing was very immature. It felt like something that was written by a teenage girl who has never really been in love, filled with melodramatic statements and hyperbole. Claire’s background story seemed a little too drastic and unreal, whereas Jude’s character transformation happened way too quickly to be realistic. Overall, I enjoyed the book, but I had a hard time getting invested in the characters. It felt like a teenage fan fiction, in that all of the characters were a little one-dimensional and the resolution was a little too simple. I think I’m going to try another book from this author before I pass judgment on her as a whole, just because I think she may do better with more mature characters.

I absolutely loved this book, and was extremely happy with the way Claire found herself. I wish more of these books were free because I would read them all! Great Job!

I had only read one book by Toni Aleo prior to this one and it was a stand alone. Jude was the college hockey star, play boy with a one and done attitude towards the girls. Claire had a rough childhood until she ended up with her uncle Phillip. She wasn't looking for a relationship and didn't want to ever have to rely on anyone ever again. So when she meets Jude she blows him off but kind of challenges him to find her again. She has some secrets that she doesn't reveal and that will come back to haunt her later. This story is about how these 2 young people figure out how to love and trust someone else. I really enjoyed Toni's writing style. This is a sweet story of young love with some steamy thrown in. This is a spin off from another series and I am looking forward to getting to know some of the characters better. I recommend this enjoyable read.

This is my first book by this author and I have to say I am hooked. I can't wait to read the rest of this series. I'm usually not a fan of the rotating point of view, but the author managed to seamlessly shift point of view without losing the storyline. You have got to read this story and get lost in the world Toni Aleo creates. I've got to get real books for my library.

I could not get into this book. The writer needed an editor, badly. The dialogue was so fake. The characters were annoying and immature. Everything about this book was awful. I do not recommend. Gtx

An emotional roller coaster for sure. I was tearing up, laughing out loud, pissed beyond belief, nervous, and so many other emotions! Well worth the read and I will definitely be looking into more books by this author! Side note- there were a couple of errors, but small enough where you can quickly figure out what the word should of been.

I enjoyed this book very much. It had a lot of happiness and feelings in the story. I didn't want to put it down! I hate when an author ends with a cliffhanger. I feel the reason is to sell books and not for the integrity of the story. I'll definitely buy more books in the series because of the happy ending,! Hope that makes you want read the book instead of spoiling the ending!
