Not All Brothers and Sisters Think Alike

As twins, Bobby and Chrissy also don't quite look alike. They share a lot of things, including their birthday. Having the same birthday sometimes means sharing a birthday cake. Even worse this year, they may have to share their birthday gift. The gift Chrissy has in mind isn't Bobby's idea of fun.

Two kids, one birthday, one cake and one gift. What kind of gift will they get? And will they like it?

Some "gifts" aren't always what you expect.

Some "things" aren't always what they seem.

This delightful read is a wonderful way to impress upon children of all ages the gift of giving and receiving. It is so important in this day and age for our youth to realize that a gift from the heart can indeed give you the world.

The soft cover made the text somewhat difficult to "handle", but any difficulty in logistics is more than made up for by the Aesopian value that is contained inside the cover.

Even children who do not read yet, will enjoy the wonderful illustrations and bright colors found inside. This is just the type of text that a librarian would love to share with a young group during a dramatic reading.

I would reccommend this book to any parent who is concerned with teaching their children true values in the world. It is thought provoking while being enjoyable, as well.

This story is told with great skill, intelligence and wit. There are a few giggles for a parent or an older child reading the book. The twins make connections as they explore their sense of the world through the magic of play.

The story is full of some of life's many messages and growth. I love the subtelty of one message "a basketball is a cool gift to share." That is one of the statements which lends itself to the true spirit of sportsmanship. I would love to add some additional tags to this excellent book, educational, parenting and family values.

The illustrations are vivid with muted tones which clearly mirror the text. This depiction of color, space and scale will allow very young children to focus on the images as the text is read to them.

Because this book is a paperback it is difficult to hold upright, and to turn the pages at the same time. It would be fun to read surrounded by children lying on the floor or in any informal setting.

This story is unforgettable. I cannot wait to read another book by this author. I highly recommend this book. Everyone will enjoy it.
