They were enemies in a divided land...

In Bold Angel by Kat Martin, Saxon beauty Caryn of Ivesham longed to escape the chill gray cloisters of the convent to which she'd fled—but not in marriage to the towering, feared Raolfe de Gere, the Norman knight they called Ral the Relentless. Even though he had once saved her from a fate worse than death, she could not forget he'd raised the grim battlements of Braxston Keep on her dead father's lands or that his men had dishonored her sister. If she wed him to bring peace to her people, he would have to lay siege to her bed.

Will their love conquer all—or destroy them both?

The darkly handsome warlord's blood coursed with desire for Caryn's burnished crimson lips, and his passion would not be denied. But in the wild ecstasy they shared, Ral feared more than his heart was in danger. Could his rebellious bride be a traitor deadlier than the wolves and brigands prowling deep in English forests?

"An excellent medieval romance...Readers will not only love this novel, but clamor for a sequel." —Affaire de Coeur

This book would have rated a five star if there wasn't so much swearing. I was constantly offended by some of the oaths. Nevertheless, it was a medieval gem. The plot moved along very well and is very similar to  another well-known authors' excellent medieval story....Wolf and the Dove.

Gah. It's really a challenge to think of anything good to say about this book. For a romance novel to work, the reader has to be able to care about the characters. They have to be developed and sympathetic. The characters in this book are neither. There is absolutely no character development, we see next to no motivation for when they act the way they do, and there is absolutely no spark between the leads. The plot is ramshackle and rambling, with little "events" popping up once in a whlie that are ridiculous and stupid. Caryn is one of the stupidest romance character heroines I've ever read - she's a complete and utter moron. The author makes Geoffrey a villain out of the blue, with absolutely no foreshadowing or anything, and really never explains well why on earth he did what he did. This book had be so bored by the end I was counting the pages and skimming just to get through. Do not read this book!!!

I have got to say that this is my most favorite book and Kat Martin has ever writtin. At some parts you just want to melt with the love scences. The chemisty between the main characters is sizzling! Go out and get this book!
