**4.5 Stars** All three guys from the Rook & Ronin series have their own distinct personalities, as well as roles on their team. Ronin is smooth and under pressure. Ford has his many peculiarities and his mad skills with a computer. Spencer Shrike has always been more 'what you see is what you get' in my opinion. He's brash and blunt. He's the muscle. And I wouldn't have him any other way. In BOMB though, I was able to see past his in your face-ness to a tiny glimpse of the man underneath. Spencer first saw Veronica Vaughn outside the campus bookstore. She was yelling at a guy. It was love/lust at first sight for Spencer. It was a day that changed Spencer's life. The day they went on their first date, his world shifted yet again. This day though - the one we're privy to in BOMB, may have repercussions for a long, long time. I loved being witness to the beginnings of their romance. I also appreciated getting an inkling about why they are where they currently are. Despite Spencer being a guy who says it like it is, he's a bit more complex. And he's as loyal as they come. BOMB was an excellent precursor to GUNS, which I'm now dying to read. It's going to be an epic culmination of this entire series. I adore Spencer and Ronnie and all the characters that inhabit this world. And I'm grateful to have had this little look at a day in Spencer's life.

At what lengths will you go to keep the one you love safe? Even though it is tearing you both apart!! Julie is so good at keeping you on your toes and at the edge of your seat. I wanted to reach through the pages and smack Spencer a few times myself. I can't get enough of this series!

A Huss strikes again!  Another book boyfriend to add to my fictional harem.  Bomb: A Day in the Life of Spencer gives us a more in depth view of this character who was initially introduced in the Rook & Ronin series.  Spencer might appear rough and tough on the outside, but he is a romantic, thoughtful artiste on the inside.  Veronica "Bombshell" Vaughn is one lucky gal to be put on a pedestal and romanced by Spencer Shrike.   After this great segue between the initial series and the spinoffs, I'm looking forward to the next Spencer book!

A perfect continuation of the series and lead up to Guns. A must read part of the series.

Bomb is a brief glimpse into a day in the life of Spencer. We first met Spencer in Tragic, though we don't really get to know him until Manic. By the end of Panic we want to know more about both him and Ford. Well, Ford got his story told, and now it is Spencer's turn. The thing I like most about this series as a whole is that the next book leaves very little gap between it and the one before it. Bomb picks up just a few weeks after the end of Taut (Ford's book). We get to see the guys working together on a new job, something that seems to only affect Spencer, but I have a feeling it will turn into something bigger. I really enjoyed the way Bomb was written - it took place in current timeline, but had some flashbacks so we still got to see how Spencer and Veronica 'Ronnie' met. It is fun to be in Spencer's head as he "stalks his prey"' so to speak. He is definitely one of those guys that once he sees something he wants, he gets it. But he makes it seem like the other person's idea. Or at least doesn't force the issue. If he really isn't wanted, he backs off, for now. Bomb certainly sets the scene for Guns, and I am very excited to see how everything plays out with the trial, the boys, the new season of the show, and whatever else Huss decides to throw our way. I've enjoyed every minute I've had with these books and am eagerly anticipating my next date with the guys - and Spencer!

J.A. Huss is beyond talented! I think I love her novellas just as much as the books. Simply because the back story is so interesting.  Also you can't pass up her "End of book" section,  it makes her a real person.

*****5 Deliciously-Addictive Stars!!!!!***** Reading J.A.’s books is like indulging in rich, delicious chocolate… you can never get enough!!! And like that yummy chocolate, where one bite is never enough, once you read one of J.A.’s books… one is NEVER enough… you become addicted to her books (like me), and afterwards you're left always wanting MORE!!! Speaking of “delicious”… there are 3, YES THREE, “DE-LI-CIOUS” male specimens in this series. Ronin, Ford, and Spencer… oooohhh, so YUMMY!!! Though you technically “could” read Bomb (Spencer’s novella), without the backstory… you’d be doing yourself a big disservice. Go back to the beginning and read the Rook & Ronin series (Tragic, Manic, and Panic), and then the 2 spin-offs (Slack & Taut, which are Ford’s books), and then get Bomb and Guns (Spencer’s books). Trust me, you will enjoy the books all that much more if you start at the beginning! Now, about Bomb… I’ve liked Spencer all along. He seems to be good guy, sexy, talented… and I especially loved the hot scenes when he was painting Rook & posing on the bike with her in Manic. But I fell in LOVE with Ford in Panic, and he’s been my favorite thus far. In fact, he became one of my all-tie favorite book boyfriends. So, I figured I’d “like” Spencer’s books, but not LOVE them, like I did Ford’s. AGAIN, I WAS SOOOOOOO WRONG!!! J.A.’s writing is just SOOOO good, and her characters just SUCK YOU IN & make you LOVE them!!! I absolutely loved reading Spencer’s novella (Bomb). Spencer is a hot, tattooed, badass biker... but up until now, I didn’t know all that much about him, since Ronin and Ford have been stealing the limelight. So, what I enjoyed most in reading Bomb, was not only getting to know Spencer, but also discovering the history of Spencer and Veronica. I also really loved Veronica’s feisty character… and I find myself rooting for Spencer and Veronica! I want them to get their HEA!!! But who knows what’s in store for them in GUNS… I’m sure we’ll be taken on an amazing rollercoaster ride of a story… and I CANNOT WAIT! WOOOOO-HOOOOOO bring on GUNS!!!!

What can I say about these stories and these guys? This is one of my favorite series. I just eat these books up. The originality, fantastic writing and perfectly flawed characters make for an amazing read! If you haven’t read them, I can’t recommend them enough!
