This book does an excellent job of raising your blood pressure before you even get to the actual suspenseful parts. Such descriptive writing leaves you feeling like you are in the nightmare unfolding! Great read and I would refer it to anyone looking for a pulse pounder!!

Loved this book! Another engaging work by Mr. McWhorter. I fell in love with the main charachter and was rooting for him all throughout the book. One of this author's strong points seems to be his characterization, he makes his characters real to the reader. Of course the gripping plot held my attention all day long. I had to devour the book in one day, couldn't bear to put it down. I couldn't wait to see what happened next. If you enjoy that kind of gripping tale, you'll love this one. Bravo Tim!

Quick read, mostly because it's so hard to put down! The writer's descriptive style paints a vivid picture, but without losing the element of suspense. Not my usual genre, but glad I gave it a chance. Would recommend to anyone with a stomach for gore.

Uber creepy! I couldn't put it down when I read it a few years ago and the same went this time. I re-read so I could read the next in the series and it really was just as good this time. Now I can't wait to read Blackened!

One of the best thrillers I have ever read. It was gory, thrilling and horrific. Loved every page. Definitely a 10/10

Quite a chilling and disturbing story. Not quite as good as Stephen King or Koontz books but well written enough to encourage me to read the sequel and his other books he has available on the nook.

I've read several King and Koontz novels. None of which scared the hell out of me like this story of survival did.

Really disappointed in this. The descriptions and the humor were interesting and well written, but the entire story was not a good read. I will try one of his other books but I am done with Luke and the psycho.
