Hiya there, just your little old pal Dragon Master here to tell ya all about this book! It is a really well writen book, you will want to read it OVER, and OVER, and OVER again... I don't own it, but I have read it sevral times. My two top favorites are 'The Island of Nine Whirlpools' and 'The Ice Dragon'. Once you read this, you'll know its a classic, and a good addition to any respectable Draconologist's personal library.

I highly enjoyed all of the stories in The Book of Dragons. My favorite was Lionel and the Book of Beasts. These stories are a good way to end any frustrating and tiring day. If you like Nesbit's other stories, you will definitely enjoy The Book of Dragons.

I had checked this out at the library, and loved it! It is an older book, so I could never find it in stores. I was very upset! Then, I got my nook and it was the first book I bought!!!! I love this book. It has several entertaining stories about dragons. So, this is the perfect book for any dragon fans out there! Great book!! 1,000,000,000,000,000,000 stars!!!!

Edith Nesbit's collection of stories is witty and original, with imaginative and creative story lines. However, it was first published in 1901, and good gracious, it is dated. There are SO many casual references to the boys being adventurous and strong and brave, while the girls are flighty and vapid and shallow. The stories here are indeed quite good, but the language and bias against girls must be taken in the context of the time in which the stories were written. And that's not necessarily a distinction that an impressionable 6-year-old girl will make.

I love this book so much. It has so many stories. I just think of another book with this many stories in it. I wish there was a second book.

I'm sure this was some great literature in it's day, but that day is far gone. It has a hard to follow story and the telling leaves even the most interested child wondering when itvwill be over. Don't be fooled by the word dragon in the title, there are far better books out there to fill the need for a mystical tale of dragons. This isn't the one.
