Mr. Forts seminal work covers the bizarre and unexplained with the precision of a dedicated archivist and the wild abandon of the truly mad. A lifetime of wading through newspapers, magazines and scientific journals drove Fort to expose what he felt were the lost children and dirty secrets of science and the natural world. To this day much of the strange events he chronicled remain unexplained and those that are not can still be found in the source material which he insistently references throughout. The ideological ancestor of men like William R. Corliss, Fort is unafraid to laugh at himself and the scientific establishment. Moving seamlessly from the dray facts he has uncovered to the wild fancy of ludicrous explanations (both his own and those of the scientific establishment) his work is sure to please anyone with an inquisitive mind and a a thirst for the fantastic.
