I am only 16 and this book taught me way more then the school did on how the word should sound. (pitch) it is more then worth the 18.06 per book! ps.(first page is great for when you visit japan)
This book is a great resource for learning Japanese. The initial chapters that explain pronunciation and pacing are very helpful in helping a person understand how to speak the language properly. I used this book when trying to teach myself Japanese in my spare time, and later when I took a Japanese college course, the teacher had handouts from this book.
I used this book in my intro to Japanese class. It's a good text, but not the best I have used. The lessons are useful, but the teaching methods are iffy. Overall, this text is easy to understand and good for beginers.
