I have used the Nursing Drug Handbook for years preferring it to other books of similar types. I still prefer it however, Lippincott has changed several things about the book that I am not sure is the best. All meds are lumped together and listed alphabetically through-out the book. It seems this is to prevent accidentally reading about a med that is similar in spelling to another med in the same class that may appear similar. I also do not like the total lack of the lists of med types in the various classes of drugs as a matter of fact there is not a list of classes of drugs at all that I can find. The index is also quite small for the increased size of the book so I am not sure why, did they really list all the meds in the index that are included in the book? In time I may find I like this new format as much as I did the older format or maybe not?

The book is easy to use, provides concise information whether you are a medical professional or layperson. The book provides the reader with vital information regarding common side effects, interactions and the more common reasons medications are prescribed. This is an essential resource for anyone who either takes medication or assists a others with their health.
