This is the first book in the new Triggerman series and it started off great which tells us we have more great reads coming in the future which is not surprising by this author. We meet Addy who has had a crush on her neighbor and she finally gets to meet him when there is a gift left on his doorstep. Noah was shocked about what he receives and between him and his buddies we have a whole lot of fun, not to mention the hottie neighbor he has been admiring for a while and trying not to get to know..Super cute.. Rcvd an ARC at no cost to author..Voluntarily reviewed with my own thoughts and opinions.

What a fun read. I wasn't sure when the main characters of this series were assassins, if it might be dark. It wasn't. Great romantic suspense. Noel Cavanaugh is a burned out government sponsored contract killer. He's a good guy who's had a hard life as an orphan at a very young age and was recruited at 14 while on the streets. He's ready to get out of the life now at age 30. The book starts when he's finished a job and is carefully making his way back home to his secret retreat on Bainbridge Island WA. He's met at his door by his next door neighbor, 4th grade teacher Adeline Rose, on her way to help her best friend Solene do some cleaning at Solene's daycare. In her arms is a 4 month old baby boy that was dumped off on his doorstep by his "mother" naming Noel as the father. SURPRISE! Now he's got to figure out who the Dad is because it's NOT him and get on with his recharge time. He calls the 2 likely other suspects, Deacon "Shadow" Shaw and Hammer the "Destroyer" to help take care of their potential son while DNA tests are run. So sets up the delightful romantic comedy suspense thriller story. I loved the attraction between Noel and Addy. Marie does a fabulous job with the chemistry between the bewildered triggerman blindsided by love and the independent but lonely school teacher. Watching the future romance between Solene and Deacon brew is great fun since they are oil and water. I also suspect Hammer will be brought down by the very competent nurse Violet who's somehow connected to the business. ~A copy of this story was provided for an honest and voluntary review.

Have to admit, I was surprised by this book. I knew that I was going to like it because I have liked basically everything that I have read by Marie Harte. But this book took me back to my past. I loved Three Men and a Baby, so I got a really big kick out of this storyline. I couldn’t stop the laughter at times because what I was reading was freaking hilarious! Contracted Signed is the first book in a new series which deal with assassins. So just imagine the hijinks that can ensue when a baby is thrown in the mix and triple it! Noel is the main male character in this book. His cover name is “Ice”, and he definitely lives up to that. Addy (female lead) makes some pretty convincing comments about how cold and robotic he is, and I definitely did agree with her. But his character really brought the heat once Addy was able to help thaw the ice :). And poor Abby, she fell kinda of down the rabbit hole in this book. Her character is very sweet, trusting, and naive at times, but she is also an endearing character. I totally found myself rooting for her through the book. She showed extreme grace in dealing with what was thrown at her, and frankly that was a bit in this book. But her character made me smile many times. Overall, I really enjoyed the book. The plot was great and the pace of the story worked really well. The characters were hilarious! Deacon and Hammer, Noel’s co-workers, were great to read about and their interactions with the baby and Noel were beyond funny at time. I can definitely say that I really enjoyed this book and I am very much looking forward to Deacon’s story, which is coming soon. So, two thumbs up and happy reading!

This new series of Marie Harte's is off to a great start! School teacher Abby Rose has lusted for her aloof, unapproachable, neighbor, Noel Cavanaugh for the the past couple years. But when a baby is left on his doorstop when he's not home she steps in to help and things take off from there. Noel finally starts giving in to his attraction to his next door neighbor. When attempts are being taken on his life Noel calls in two other agents to help, Hunter and Deacon. The intrigue had me being an investigator right along with the guys trying to help them out to figure out who was behind the attacks and what was going to happen next. The suspense was killing me. I think the secondary characters really add to this story. Deacon's play by play with the baby is hilarious. Abby's, best friend, Solene is so full of attitude that you can't help but love her. I absolutely love romance books that have suspense and this one does not disappoint. It has quite a bit of action, too and a surprise baby. I did not find this book lacking in anything except maybe more.....I just wanted more of it because I loved it so much. By the banter of the other characters I get a feeling we are going to see more of all of who is the baby's daddy....

These characters are diamonds in the rough. I struck gold with this one! Noel is burned out. His job as an assassin means more long hours of travel, more insight into the evil of the world, and more deaths to his name. He’s known as Ice - detached, cool, and remote - but he’s ready for a change. Fate ups the ante by delivering him a baby followed by the sweet neighbor he can't get out of his mind. But Noel is sure he’s not the father. There’s only one thing to do. Call in two more assassins? Adeline Rose has it bad for her mysterious neighbor, but she doesn’t see him often. She's found the perfect opportunity when a baby is dropped on his doorstep. Suddenly, Addy is finally in close proximity to the man who haunts her erotic imaginings. And he might not be the robotic iceman that he seems. Addy can’t stay away, not even when an enemy comes after them all. This book was hilarious! I can’t tell you how many times I cracked up or clutched the book with an “OMG, how adorable!” I was so invested in their lives, and I read it so quickly. I’m bummed it’s over. “I think someone tried to kill me.” “You think?” A low chuckle. “Someone’s always trying to kill you.” The mystery plot kicks in first, and we’re given an insight into Noel Cavanaugh. It’s heartbreaking. He’s seen so much bad crap, so much death. Noel's tired of it all. I clutched my heart right at the beginning because Noel wants only one thing. A home. The feels, ya’ll. The feels! When a baby gets delivered on his doorstep, Noel freaks out for maybe a second. Then, he heads inside with the baby and starts googling how to take care of one. I cracked up. This big, gruff assassin looking after a baby, and he googles his research. I just love him to pieces. And then, since he’s insistent that the baby’s not his, he decides to contact two other assassins who might be the father. It’s like an episode of "Maury" only the guys actually like each other and it’s low on the drama. Then Addy comes in. Noel has been wrapped up in his neighbor for years, and the baby finally brings them together. Noel needs a gentleness - someone soft but secretly sassy to keep him on his toes. Thank heavens for Adeline. Addy is a teacher, and she’s watched Noel come and go for the past two years. He’s so closed off, and she’d give anything for him to notice her. She is so sweet, but she has a spunky personality too. She smooths his hard edges. When Noel’s two lives come together, Addy handles everything so well. I really adored her. She also has no problem handling Noel. She calls him out a few times in this story, and oh, how funny! “I felt bad for him. But it was the first time I’ve seen him have a personality, so that was kind of neat. He’s apparently not a robot. He even said ‘fuck’.” She calls him a robot to his face. To. His. Face! That’s about when this wall of heat comes that's so scorching hot! Noel has a dominance to him, but then he would get shy with her. Addy was more than happy to take the reigns. The character development kept me enthralled, and the extra conflict sizzled. The temperature went through the roof! Do I still have eyebrows? I don’t think so. This book is such a smart and sexy comedy of errors, and it pulls at the heartstrings. I had my hair seared from my fingertips and had my breath knocked from me all at once. You don’t want to miss this one. *This book was reviewed by Michaelene for the Alpha Book Club*

This is book one in the Triggerman Inc. series and it features hitman Noel Cavanaugh and his neighbor, schoolteacher Adeline Rose. This is a fabulous story and there was never a dull moment. There was some pretty awesome action in and out of the bedroom. The characters were fabulous. They were witty, smart and sarcastic. Through it all, all Noel wanted was to live a quiet boring life but the "Business" kept getting in the way. You need to remember that you're dealing with a man, who in order to do his job, has had to shut down emotions and be ice cold, which is how he got the nickname "Ice". Addy is bringing back all those feelings he's had to bury for so long. Sometimes he's a little awkward but he learns fast. Oh, and the baby? We have some clues but he's still a mystery. I can't wait to read the next book in this fantastic series.

CONTRACT SIGNED is the first installment in Marie Harte’s contemporary adult TRIGGERMAN, INC romantic suspense series. This is hired assassin/secret government agent Noel ‘Ice’ Cavanaugh, and elementary school teacher Adeline ‘Addy’ Rose’s story line. Told from several third person perspectives including Addy and Noel, CONTRACT SIGNED follows the building relationship between thirty year old government agent/ assassin Noel ‘Ice’ Cavanaugh, and twenty six year old elementary school teacher Adeline ‘Addy’ Rose, and Noel’s desperate need to protect the woman with whom he is falling in love. Noel is a contractor for the ‘Business’, a secret government organization that ‘takes care’ of the filth and political low lifes destroying people’s lives. But a number of recent attempts on Noel’s life, seemingly unconnected to his current contract finds Noel calling in a couple of other agents whose own connections to Noel grow over night. A four month old baby boy is left with Noel’s neighbor Addy Rose along with a note proclaiming Noel is the father. What ensues is the search for the truth about the abandoned baby boy; the building romance between Addy and Noel; and Noel’s attempts to stay one step ahead of whomever is out to destroy his life. Addy Rose has lusted after her quiet, withdrawn neighbor for close to two years; a man so distant that Addy struggles to see past the cold and darkened façade but a man who tugs at Addy’s heart. Noel is an agent; raised on the streets of hard life and trained to be a killer by the man in charge. The relationship between Addy and Noel begins as neighbors then friends leading to lovers and more. Noel has secretly coveted his sexy neighbor but his lifestyle is not conducive to relationships or love. With both of their lives threatened by an unknown source Noel reluctantly brings Addy into his life risking the truth about his present and the past. The $ex scenes are intimate, provocative and intense. We are introduced to Noel’s fellow agents: Deacon, a thief known as the Shadow, and Hammer aka the Destroyer, as well as their handler, a man known only to the reader as Big Joe but a man who remains in the background giving out assignments and cleaning up when a job is done. Addy’s best friend Solene Hansen is a former model, and day care manager who may or may not have an attraction to Deacon, and Vi, a nurse working for the Business has caught the eye of the Hammer. The world building looks at the dangerous life of a secret agent; an assassin who has been targeted in a game of betrayal and revenge. We also get a glimpse into the softer side of three assassins for hire when a four month old baby literally falls into their lives. CONTRACT SIGNED has moments of humor and fun; secrets and lies; romance and love. The premise is intriguing and dramatic; the characters are energetic and inspiring; the romance is passionate and intense. CONTRACT SIGNED is a moving and thrilling start to a new series.
