About the Author
Medea was inspired to write these books when she became a grandmother. Her stories are all based on her own family, whose members come from many ethnic backgrounds. This unique mix is a perfect recipe, and it's the reason that she calls her grandchildren her little Honeycakes.
With more lovely stories to tell, Honeycake will be followed by a series of books. Each one tells valuable life lessons and gives parents and children the tools to overcome obstacles in their everyday lives.
These books will teach children how to do random acts of kindness, have honest and open communication, and practice gratitude. Children will even discover how to meditate and manage their emotions when things don't go their way. Medea writes her stories to help young readers count their blessings and to share positive messages.

Having just read Medea Kalantar’s book “Honeycake - A Family of Spices”, I must say the book itself has a very delectable taste to it. Indeed the author has created a synesthesia working with tastes and a delicious dessert and letting it reflect the quality of life and its relationship. You find how each element of a recipe symbolizes and reflects a positive feature in each of the members of the family. Honeycake will be understood by all ages and truly is a refreshing approach to human life with its joy, blessing and special qualities. While Honeycake has been written as a children’s book, it has a charm which I predict will entrance any age. I read the booklet 3 times and found it enchanting. By: The Amazing Kreskin
This is a great children’s book. The illustrations are lovely and the story is so touching with the grandmother explaining how each ingredient in the honey cake represents a different family member. Loved the powerful message “that we are all one race” no matter the color of your skin, your religious beliefs or what country you come from. We need more books like this! Well Done Medea Kalantar! Can’t wait to read more books from your Honeycake series. Oh and thank you for including the recipe on how to make a honey cake. My children and I thought it was delicious.
