Say that you needed money for college. To gain the career that you have always wanted. However, your parents cut you off and you couldn’t afford tuition. What would you do to ensure you received the best education possible? Would you give up? Or perhaps take a chance on life and enter a world that you had never entered before? Your life is not in danger and it comes with the utmost respect and adoration. Would you jump at the chance? I guess you could only know, if you were faced with such a situation. Georgia Cates gives us a world of possibilities. A tale of what-ifs. A tale of limitless possibilities and the chance at love. Eighty-One Nights is a story unlike any other. A story that makes us giggle and wonder what it would be like to live the life of Lou and be loved and adored by Hutch. This is one of my favorite contemporary romances of 2019. Pick up a copy and make it your top read of the year!

Marvellous new duet!!! Caitriona Louden is a beautiful young American student living in Edinburgh, she’s lived there with her father and step-mother since her mom died when she was sixteen. Cait, has a less than loving with her dad, the man who walked away when she was born. She was left with her alcoholic mother and forced to raise herself. She doesn’t trust or give love easily. Maxwell Hutcheson is older, devastatingly handsome and a recent widower and desperate for companionship. He and his wife had been having issues before she died and now he’s trapped in a limbo of denial and grief that he shows to friends and family, but the truth is, he wants a fresh start. Cait is a stepping stone to that end, or she’s supposed to be. Cait is struggling to pay her college fees as her father refuses to give her any more help. She needs money and her friend Rachel shows her a way she can earn enough to cover it all by doing a little extra work over the summer break. Inamorata, is where Cait and Max meet. It’s the first time for both of them. Lou, as Cait calls herself, isn’t sure of what to expect of the clientele, but she pleasantly surprised when Max asks her to be his… for three months. Lou hadn’t planned to go all they way, like some of the girls. She told Max right off the bat she wasn’t offering her body to him. He was happy to just see where things went. If they were attracted to one another and they wanted to have sex, then they would, as long as that’s what Lou wanted. From her first date with Max, or Hutch as she decided to call him, Lou knew he was a man who’d respect her wishes, despite what she did for a living. The more time the spent together, the closer them become. Cait isn’t worried though. They have a contract and her heart isn’t on the line. She can walk away at the end. Hutch knows his feelings are becoming real and he wants Loun to be his for real too. So, what will happen at the end of Eighty-One Days. You have to read it and find out, bear in mind, though, that this is a duet so the ending isn’t really, the end. Can’t wait for the next part to see where this is going. I can highly recommend this one to fans old and new, alike.

4 stars for - Eighty-One Nights - book one in the Beautiful Illusions duet by Georgia Cates. As with almost all duets this book ends in a cliffhanger that leaves you yearning for more of Hutch and Lou. The author states she took beloved elements from some of her other series and intentionally weaved them into this duet. Honestly, except for a couple cameos of previous characters, this seems pretty original to me. With Georgia’s signature style of romance and sexy seduction this is one book you won’t want to miss. Maxwell Hutcheson is in a really bad situation so a friend brings him to a party to meet the perfect girl. A girl that can give him everything he needs, wherever he needs it but it may just cost him everything when all is said and done. Lou is a broke American college student living in Scotland with one semester left to go before she’s done with her degree. Having no money and no idea how to pay her way through school she decides to work with her roommate at Inamorata as a companion. She never thought she’d meet a man like Maxwell Hutcheson her very first night but as they say...everything happens for a reason.

Cait/Lou needs money as she is struggling to stay afloat. She joins the Inamorata an organization that pairs beautiful women with wealth men for companionship. Hutch is her first client and he want the girlfriend experience, for her to live and be with him for 81 days. Lou and Hutch start to fall from what started as a contract to something so deeply more. At the end of the 81 days can they survive in the real world or split as agreed? Cates wrote a book with emotional depth as you feel each character thoughts and reasons why. She truly left we scream what at the end! When is the next book coming out I need to know what happens.

Bills….bills…and more bills!! It’s a reality that so many know all too well. For Cait – the reality of needing money while attending college is at the forefront of life. How can one person handle it all? Then the reality of her roommate’s job hits Cait with full force. Becoming an escort for wealthy men wasn’t really in the cards, but with mounting bills staring her in the face Cait decides to discover what it’s all about. Determined to make the most of the situation, Cait accepts an assignment as a companion for a widow. The 3 month contract would allow for the full girlfriend experience with Maxwell while providing Cait with much needed funds. Maxwell and Lou (Cait) felt an instant attraction upon meeting, but both knew that nothing would become of their time together; there was an expiration date on their contract. Maxwell was determined to make the most of his time with Cait, including overcoming her strict list of objections. What neither could imagine would be the way the couple seemed to mesh seamlessly into the others life. A melding of two souls that few find during their lifetime. Maxwell has his own secrets, and Cait manages to accept them with open arms. What would they do once their contract expired? Eighty-One Nights if the first book in the Beautiful Illusions duet. With an unusual story idea, Georgia Cates has managed to create a world that few wouldn’t find tempting. Maxwell and Cait embark upon a journey that will have an effect on their lives in unexpected ways. Each wanting to provide the other with security, kindness, and a memory to last a lifetime. With an expiration date firmly in place on their time together, where will the couple stand once the clock strikes twelve?

I went into this story skeptical. If you've read enough of my reviews, you know that I don't go for when a main character becomes a paid companion or something of that sort. So I wasn't sure how I would feel with Cait choosing to become an Inamorata. But I do have a weakness for Scottish men, so I was definitely excited to read Hutch. Can I just tell you how much I LOVED Lou & Hutch?! LOVED them!!! I NEED more of them!!! Their chemistry and their story and just everything they have gone through.... Plus, there's one hell of a cliffhanger that I was NOT expecting! I hadn't really thought about this being a duet or even paid attention to that fact so it threw me when I was trying to scroll for more pages. I NEED their conclusion STAT!!!

If the beautiful cover doesn't draw you in, the blurb is sure to intrigue you just as much as it did me. Georgia has given us an unconventional relationship between two people who need it for many different reasons. Hutch is lacking companionship and intimacy, due to unfortunate circumstances in his life. Cait is a college student barely making it due to family circumstances but when her bestfriend makes her an offer she can't refuse her life takes a turn, whether for better or worse..... you'll have to read to find out. This book had me hanging on every word and whether I was smiling or hurting for these two broken souls I couldn't stop reading. If you've ever read a book by Georgia Cates you know how vested you become in the story and I can honestly say this is one that will leave you reeling long after you're done. This is a book I highly recommend but prepare yourself for one cliffy that will have you trying to turn pages that are not there because you need more of Hutch and Lou!

1 Contract…2 People…81 Days…81 Nights…Too many secrets to count… That’s the situation that Maxwell (Hutch) Hutcheson and Caitriona (Lou) Louden find themselves in when Hutch’s loneliness becomes too overwhelming to bear and Lou finds herself in dire straits financially and makes the only decision she feels she can. Even though Hutch and Lou meet under unusual circumstances and venture into a ‘Girlfriend Arrangement,’ their connection is instantaneous and their mutual attraction makes their exclusive agreement for the summer a little less awkward and hopeful something that they can both enjoy despite their varying reasons for becoming a member of the exclusive dating service, Inamorata. Hutch’s backstory is both saddening and perplexing; his past holds so many secrets - ones that can possibly answer why he feels such a sense of loyalty and responsibility when it comes to the people in his life. And, now that he’s on his own and has to weather the maelstrom of emotions and life’s circumstances by himself, he feels incapable and he needs an outlet before his loneliness and doubts pull him under for good. A physical connection/release is one of the main reasons that Hutch turned to Inamorata, and let me tell you, he gets what he wants and needs from Lou in that respect, but I don’t think either of them counted on the emotional link that they would feel…the pull of more than just their bodies to one another…the desire to know each other on every level. But with an expiration date to their arrangement as well as a bevy of outside interference, it’s unclear if what they’re building is something that can withstand the circumstances they find themselves in after their 81 days. Eighty One Nights is a duet, which means part one ends with a cliffhanger, but I truly felt that Georgia Cates provided readers with a comprehensive view of the start of Max and Cait’s contract/relationship, providing the ins and outs of situations that occur and the words that are said. The undeniable connection that these two seem to have from the beginning of the story becomes something that they can build on as they experience the summer together and get to know all that there is to know about the other. The fusion of Cates’ ‘most favorite parts’ of her previous storylines adds a unique twist to Eighty-One Nights but Hutch and Lou’s book also remains fresh due to the complexities of the characters, their back stories, and the situation that brings them together, and with what happens at the end of part one, I have no idea where Cates plans to take her characters next, but I want to find out! 4 Poison Apples

EIGHTY-ONE NIGHTS is the first instalment in Georgie Cates’ contemporary, adult BEAUTIFUL ILLUSIONS erotic, romance duet focusing on thirty-three year old, Scottish businessman and widower Maxwell Hutcheson, and twenty-two year old, American student Caitriona ‘Lou’ Louden. Told from dual first person points of view (Lou and Max) EIGHTY-ONE NIGHTS follows the fake boyfriend/girlfriend arrangement between thirty-three year old, Scottish businessman Maxwell Hutcheson, and twenty-two year old, American student Caitriona ‘Lou’ Louden. Maxwell Hutcheson is looking for a companion but when his best friend Brady suggests the services of Inomorata, Maxwell never expected to fall in love. Enter American Caitriona Louden aka Lou, a young woman struggling to make ends meet, including the fees for her university tuition. What ensues is the building relationship and romance between Lou and Max, and the fall-out as Lou and Max’s time together comes to an end, an ending destroyed by betrayal and vengeance. Caitriona Louden struggles with her ethics when her roommate Rachel suggests becoming an Inomorata woman, a for-hire girlfriend for rich men looking for temporary arrangements, and beautiful eye-candy. Meeting Maxwell Hutcheson finds our heroine slowly falling in love with a man whose former in-laws are unwilling to accept our heroine in his life. Targeted by more than one person willing to destroy her life, Cat is forced to walk away from the man with whom she is falling in love. The relationship between Lou and Max is an arranged affair with an expiry date of eighty-one days. Never expecting to fall in love Lou is faced with heart break and betrayal before their time is up. The $ex scenes are intimate, erotic and passionate, without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text. There is a large ensemble cast of colorful and secondary characters including Caitriona’s best friend and roommate Rachel; Max’s sister Sara, her husband Adam, as well as Max’s brother Ian Hutcheson. We are introduced to Inomorata’s chatelaine Coram her son Chambers, as well as Max’s former sister in law Blair. If you are a fan of, or have read the author’s original BEAUTY series focusing on Jack Prescott and Laurelyn Prescott, you will notice the numerous similarities and recognizable premise to the current plot development of EIGHTY-ONE NIGHTS. There is also a slight cross-over with the author’s BEAUTY series and the mention of the band Southern Ophelia. The author has been transparent with the parallel correlations calling it a fusion of her ‘old favorites and new material’. I welcomed the familiarity as I loved the BEAUTY series but I was also hoping for some deeper twists to the original plot line. EIGHTY-ONE NIGHTS is a familiar story of friendship, romance, heart break and love. There are moments of happiness and pain; revelations and acceptance; betrayal, vengeance, grief and loss. The premise is engaging, entertaining and captivating: the romance is seductive, provocative, and impassioned; the characters are energetic, bold and strong. EIGHTY-ONE NIGHTS end on a cliff-hanger, you have been warned.

Eighty One Nights is my first Georgia Cates novel and I enjoyed it. This story held me attention from beginning to end as the author takes us on a journey as we follow these two characters who enter into a relationship based on a business transaction for "a girlfriend experience' and ended up falling in love. This first novel gives us all the details of how Hutch and Lou fell in love inspite of whatever contract they signed and whatever dramas they had going on. The story was sweet and steamy and you will feel the intense chemistry between these two. There was something simple and calming about this relationship that drew me in and that's what had me rooting for these characters. This is the first book in this duet and it end in a major cliff-hanger. I can't wait for the second book to see how this all gets resolved. Eighty-One nights was a fantastic read and I would definitely recommend it to all lovers of contemporary romance.

All night people, I stayed up all night with this book, I couldn't put it down.  And even though I knew this was part of a duet and this is only book one, I still couldn't put it down. Now Ms. Cates explains in the blurb that this story is a culmination of past stories that she has written and loved, but with fresh characters. A "story fusion" and I loved it.  Even with reading Ms. Cates in the past, (I loved her Sin Trilogy) this story seems fresh and new and also comfy like wrapping yourself in a favorite blanket. This is the beginning of the story of Lou and Hutch.  Unconventional meeting, unconventional contract but what is developing between them is exceptional and just swoony. Hutch has been burned by his past relationship, he is staggering under the weight of the truth of his past.  He is trying to stay afloat with what his world believes, he just wants something that is only his, all to himself and he finds that with Lou. Oh Lou, what a tragic life she has lead in her short time here.  She is wise beyond her years and has built a fortress around her soft parts.  She refuses to be hurt again.  When the opportunity arises start a contract with Hutch.  It's the answer to her short term prayers but can it lead to more? This story is fantastic, it's a fantasy wrapped in a world that I want to live in!  The intrigue and mystery is just enough to keep you guessing and the ending....gaaahhhh! I am waiting on tenterhooks for the next book in this duet! Well done, Ms. Cates!! I tip my book blogger hat to you! Readers, get this story! You will thank me later!
